@@DetCoAnimeFan The bridge is part of a wider rail network. Before 2000, the other parts of the railway line was constructed because of technological challenges. In 2002, the Vajpayee Govt declared the project as a national project and the construction on the bridge began. In 2008, construction stopped due to safety concerns and started back again in 2010.

No doubt that the Modi government is putting cherry on top of the cake in Indian Railways, this engineering marvel is a treat to watch but they should also look at the local trains and old express trains, the government also needs to spend money on the maintenance of such trains in order to prevent tragedies like Coromandal and Jalpaiguri.

Its basic common sense that during trials things would be slow and the train is supposed to honk as a caution for any personnel on tracks. Koi race thodi chal rahi hai yaha pe ki train bhagani hai is critical bridge pe. Class 6 ke bacche bhi zada samajdar honge yaha kuch logo se.

Engineering Marvel my foot. They couldn't even build a seperate track for express trains for Mumbai Central railway for so many years. The very reason the local trains are always late. They make a hell lot of revenue from Mumbai local that's about 35% of the total profit for whole India. Our money are used this kind of developments. This is pure form of parasitic relation where we are regularly ill treated.

I travel on the tracks known to be the first railway line set up in Asia between Bombay to Thane by British in the mid 19th century and when we see its sorry state today almost after 170years as you compare with other countries, you start questioning the intentions of our governments and it's level of commitment as a nation. I will not praise the government and its administration for its wrongs even if people start questioning my patriotism. Since last 25 years I am traveling in these local trains and they have become vehicles of deaths and regular fights through overcrowding heaved due to lack of punctuality and incompetence of Railway authorities. Dying of 3-4 commuters daily has become a usual thing. People don't even discuss about it these days. Level of Corruption is unimaginable.

1. I don't see local trains honking consistently all the time while running in other parts of the country. Even in a densely populated city like Mumbai. Do you say the motormen there don't care about 'any personnel that might be on the tracks' and their safety?
2. If the train has to honk for the possibility of 'any personnel on the tracks', then it puts a big question mark on the security of the bride itself. If they cannot ensure all personnel are out during testing, how will they manage safety later? Or is honking the only safety measure they have?

@@kunti_putra dude this is a trial run and thats one of the norms usually apart from controlled speed. I have seen it myself in delhi ncr even for metro rail trials and RRTS trials in ghaziabad section. Look at the complete video first and thr r similar ones available on youtube even for RRTS. They honk as a pre-empt caution alert for any personnel or workers or curious onlookers who might be on or near the tracks. Even at 1.50 in this video u will hear the local security guy blowing his whistle to caution anyone near the tracks. You wont see or find metro trains or even local trains usually honking otherwise during regular runs.Thrs a difference. Also i never said that im the smartest man in the room bt some people really comment strangely without understanding the context first. If some mishap happens during trial with a bystander, many guys will shoot comments like why didn't the driver honk !!!! Talk abt paradox!

actually thats a suburban DMU (Deisel Multiple Units) train and it is not the fastest, also during trial runs the speed is set to be below 20 kmph for safety
