Depending on the group and the company, the share of the song's lines/parts vary from fairly even to ridiculous. In this video, we get to see a visual representation of the distribution of parts throughout the different kpop group.

But poor Bean. That always seems to be the case with Vixx songs. Either Hyuk or Bin doesn't get lines.
Well Binnie's voice don't fit too much with this song, it would have been okay if he had more screen time but oh well Jellyfish.

When VIXX debuted it seems like it was Hyuk that didnt get any lines, but since 2015 it's Hongbin that have the least amount of lines
Yeah, I find that the constant factor with Vixx Songs is that they seem to work the members' parts around the song regardless of the line distribution. But what I find really annoying (as I'm Hyuk biased) is when Ken, Leo and N are guaranteed huge parts in any song, of course since they're the main vocals and have quite dynamic voices. But it doesn't mean that Hongbin and Hyuk don't have dynamic voices too. I mean, there can be so many parts where Hyuk and Hongbin would have no trouble dealing with AND sounding perfect at the same time.
It's a fight between Ken and Leo, with a bit of Hakyeon action.

I get people's frustration of hongbins lack of lines. idk if you guys noticed he's like an almost rap singer. Hongbin has a deep voice and in some songs they have more than others. I wanted more lines for him too but it just wouldn't suit this song. I mean even Ravi who usually gets a little more rap time got less. Hyuk has improved a. whole fcking lot as a singer and his voice is really meant for this song. I'm so proud of these guys and I'm just gonna hope hongbinnie has more lines in the future. (btw he gets more lines in love me do so check that out)
I wouldn't say he's a "rap singer", he just has a unique voice more suited to slow, emotional songs..
+Grace Harman Hongbin was supposed to be a sub rapper according to their profile from MyDol, so calling him a "rap singer" actually makes sense.
Jagoda Olejniczak ...Well personally I find it a bit insulting because 1, when does he ever actually rap, and 2, a 'rap singer' makes it sound like he can't really sing which is why Jellyfish gives him such odd song parts sometimes..

That's very true :) it's funny because when I first got into vids I knew all of their names except for hongbin because I never really heard about him lol. But he's my bias now! (I kind of have two biases, Hongbin and Leo but shh it's a secret)

I'm sad he didn't get much screen time too but I get now that the MV is telling a story, one that Hongbin (again sadly) isn't a huge piece of.
Guys, let me say something. First of all a main vocal is called that for a reason. Second of all if you know vixx that much you surely know that Hongbin sang full covers alone, and you know about "love yourself" cover, and Memory. Ravi does not appear that much, but don't get me started, damn(ra). About the screentime, well, Hongbin often has so much screentime (wanna talk about error?) and Hyuk has it too. Plus Hyuk is often in the front when they dance cause he's a dancer, and Leo is often in the back (I love you my hamzzy, but stay there and get love ahahahah). Chill, Ravi writes and composes most of the tracks, I think he knows what he's doing
Hyuk covers Love Yourself and Call You Mine, not Hongbin. Ken and Hyuk have been given solo stuff, Ravi and Leo have a subunit, but Hongbin has nothing. He deserves more lines and he's perfectly capable of executing them well.
I didn't say that Hongbin did that cover, I mentioned the thing itself ahah Well Hongbin really has improved a lot and he should have more lines, but he blows up the stage and is quite the only that can do his parts. I find him well placed in so many songs, he just stabs you with his voice ahaahah anyway a perfect line distribution is difficult, but I'm hopeful :)

I understand why everyone is complaining but hey, Up until about Love Equation era Hyukkie had almost NO lines and Hongbin got more. Also Ravi got more than Hyukkie back then, too.
The vocal line (N, Leo, Ken) are bound to get the most lines by a mile. Jellyfish know they're the best vocalists and this song suits them really well (it suits all of them, but mainly the vocal line and Ravi, but everything suits Ravi so) :)
Who knows? Maybe soon, Hongbin will get a ton more lines!

Guys, we should understand the song too.. hongbin got that low&calm voice while this song is full of high note and majestic sound, so Leo and Ken have to do so much work here.
But "Someone Help" by Hongbin-Hyuk will be the trendmark of this song.

I am so happy that hyuk has so many lines in this comeback considering he's normally given few.
I think it's understandable that the line distribution is so uneven, this song is hard and goes so incredibly high in some parts, many people never reach those notes no matter how hard they practice. They agreed to go for the majestic sound so everyone didn't get to shine as much, I hope they'll go for a different type of song next comeback because performing this song live is nearly impossible.
I know this line distribution was all over the place and there was a huge gap between the amount of lines. But I think that Leo's voice really fits the song.

Lol we're just upset because he doesn't really get much appreciation for his talents, it's all about his looks and nobody ever really pays attention to his singing or dancing. It's like that with most kpop group visuals, unfortunately.

I mean, look at voodoo doll, error and chained up where he shined best; not just his looks but his voice as well. I think jellyfish is trying to show everyone that our hyuk has improved really great and that people needs to look out for him as well. I also think that this time, they chose the singers that would best fit the part of the song. And the song actually came out amazing.

Keeping in mind that I love every member in this group, I'm not mad about how the lines were split, because VIXX has always been a vocal based group. Compared to their other songs, this is a VERY vocal focused song and with N being the lead vocal and Ken and Leo being the main vocals, they obviously would get the most lines. It's when a group only has like 4 members and yet the lines are being used up one one or two members or when a group is supposed to make songs with a 50/50 split between vocals and rapping and yet it's split unequally, that's messed up.
Besides, Hyuk got way more lines than what he normally has and Hongbin has also had more lines in some of the previous songs. Hongbin was also the main character in the _entire_ Error mv, he was the love interest of the girl they were rescuing in On and On and at the end of Voodoo Doll. Since they are making a trilogy, I feel like they are keeping Hongbin in the dark for a reason and even in the last scene in Dynamite, he was like perfectly hidden behind all of the other members, contradictory to normal final poses where all the members are on screen. Perhaps he will have a strong roll in the final MV.

Calling Hakyeon annoying is over the top :( Hakyeon gets to sing while promoting. He's also not a lead vocal for nothing. Now he's sharing a quarter of his lines with Sanghyuk at least. Sanghyuk said that he is learning to compose stuffs now, so it is guaranteed that we will get more material from him in the future. As for Hongbin, surprisingly, this is one of the songs together with the closer that he has quite a significant amount of lines. Jelpi's slowly fixing the distribution. Not fast enough but we gotta take what we get. Also, Hyukbin might have a duet in the future, who knows. Sanghyuk is after all writing lyrics now. Oh and btw a funfact: Hakyeon was supposed to debut in a ballad group

From my point of view, it is fair that Ken and Leo sing the most. However, i would have given some of those lines to Hongbin and Hyuk, maybe the "easiest" ones to sing???? You know, as they are not main vocalists. And i would love to hear Ravi rap a liiiiittle bit more.

Woah, I'm pretty new to VIXX so can't 100% distinguish their voices... but their line distribution sucks. I know Ken, and Leo are the main vocals, and I'm sure Hongbin is the visual and has amazing voice too. But I don't think anyone in VIXX lacks of anything :/ Can you please do one for Love me do 🙂
welcome to vixx world! ^^ Yeah, it's always been a problem with Hyuk or Hongbin or even N at the start never having lines... TT-TT They're working on it, and they're improving (like how Hyuk and N had a lot of lines in this) but Hongbin always seems to lose with the others :(

I understand the ppl complaining about Hongbin not getting a lot of lines but let's be real he's the weakest vocalist in the group, since Hyuk has improved so much, and this song it doesn't suit him a lot...I mean, even Ken (their main vocalist) says this song it's the hardest to sing among all VIXX's songs. So I don't want to imagine how hard it will be for HB if he would've get more lines

And I know it's not fair for Hongbin but his voice is really unique and we can't expect it to fit in all their songs when you have such great vocals in one group.
i'm sure he can hit that note really well. skill can be gain by practice, if he work hard he will achieve it. The problem is did they give him a chance to sing it? no. thats what make me sad. while his confident in singing is increasing lately, the chance is decreasing..
and hyuk's zero line in superhero is because that time hyuk is going on puberty, his voice change and crack, unstable, so i kinda understand it. i'm glad he overcome that, now he has a deeper and unique tone in his voice.
