Pretty good overview of the tools, I didn't even see the flip object button before, will be faster than snap rotating an object. I think your explanation of world vs local symmetry helped me understand the difference a bit better as well.
Thanks Dave. I know I really appreciate your work. Your real life examples help a lot. I have wasted a lot of time, now I know ways to not waste my time 🙂
Thanks Dave for explaining symmetry. I used to change symmetry using Gizmo edit which never works when eyeballing the center. Didn't know I can switch to 'local'.
👍 you can do a gizmo edit, it is located at the end of symmetry tool bar, it is very useful for changing the location of your symmetry without moving your objects, Thank you for the good content
This is because the mirror is only mirroring the one shape. There aren’t two shapes there unless you validate it. When validating you get the option to “join children” etc… if you don’t join them they are two separate parts. If you also un-instance, they will be separate and react independently
I wish in the mirroring it would show all of the duplicates as separate bodies under the main body & that you could just select a child & make it independent by moving it out of the mirror.
Thank you for showing us how the two modes work together as well as in contrast. I can see using these tools in tandem can save a lot of work time.
Thank you for the helpful video Dave this helps a lot!

I use it pretty often now actually! 💯🙌🏾
I like the mirror clone trick for teeth
qual programa usou para fazer?
If I start with mirred objects & then want to mive 1 or change 1, how do make them individual bodies? It won't let me pull just one out of the mirror.

@@drugfreedave Thanks. I understand that but I can't figure out how to un-instance them and make it work. It's very unintuitive.

@@3sotErik if you altered the mirror it wouldn’t be mirroring anymore though. But I get what you’re saying
@@drugfreedave I think I've FINALLY figured out how to do what I've been trying to do. 👍
Do you know how to Move with Backface Mask like in Zbrush?
I don’t have a clue! 🤔
