It was "Shiki the Golden Lion" who escaped impel down in the past He was a candidate to be one of the emperor of the sea - if the title existed at that time. They are just called "Great Pirate" at that time. Info provided in the Manga SBS, dunno if it will be relevant though. Majority of SBS doesn't get translated (skipped even in the Manga sources) or edit into the anime
@@royalfun1031 It's chapter 0 (It's canon - Oda made it himself, this part was still added in the anime) Also known as Chapter 565.5 It was about this chapter and the SBS part was added and used as a promotion for the One Piece strong world (wasn't added in the movie) Can't remember where/which source. Oda said that this (Strong World) is the only non-canon that has forced itself to the canon. As I remember it, Oda wasn't planning to give Shiki ability to fly. (Backstory was planned, the ability wasn't)
