All those nice Morel components and an 8" Alpine 120 watt powered subwoofer... Seems like the subwoofer will be challenged to keep up with the rest of the system as the comps will be getting that per side (including rears). I'm no fortune teller but a subwoofer upgrade may be in the near future for this customer.
@@smokesgtp I would guess and say the customer didn't want to take up any space with a standard enclosure but your now limiting the entire system to a 120 watt 8" sub. 8 inch subs aren't going to reproduce deep bass notes very well so this will be more like an extra mid bass driver. The rest of the components will have to be gained down to match the output of the sub for proper blending during the tuning process. I'm really curious now to see how the tune and listening test goes for Dean.
@@bbchester6 I have an 8" Infinity Kappa in a small enclosure that's running about 325-350 watts RMS at 4 ohms and it does a fantastic job. It's not for beating up the block but it can be made to overwhelm the rest of the Alpine type-R system at 100 rms per corner if boosted a bit.
If you were going to reuse that sandwich every day for years on end, and it cost 4 figures, that might be a valid comparison. I pay my installers for technical skill, not sound opinions.
Hey Dean, in the video you mentioned that guys sometimes apply sound deadening like roadkill over that door opening typically covered by plastic. In that highlander there seems to be some foam applied to that plastic cover. If you were going to apply that roadkill to the entire door would you do the roadkill over the plastic, under it, or remove it all together?
Luv the video..can u guys maybe do a video on the replacemnt of a bmw e90 amp..the factory amp is not to strong..so shud i thn use a 6 chnl amp to use in the car..or wud a 5chnl amp also wrk
Why would you do sound deadening and not do the fast rings!! It's like another 5 minutes worth of labor to install them, and another $50 bucks in parts. Plus the fast rings also add to the sound deadening. Just seems silly for such expensive speakers..
Five Star Car Stereo can you guys upload one where the install needed a second battery. I've seen pictures on Instagram and was wondering if there would ever be a video uploaded like that.
Looking to sell my daily driver and get something 2015 or newer. What do you recommend that had 6.5” in factory locations in front/rear and spots to mount tweeters and 3” 3 ways up front?
If your speaker is transferring vibration to the mounting surface you lose sound and sound quality therefore you apply a sound deadener to prevent that loss.
Hey man , quick question have you ever experienced a sort of static noise after installing a parametric equilizer ? This noise is there even when the radio is off ,the sound does not get louder with volume or car Acceleration it stays contant .
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc the gain on the main amp powering the subwoofer is 1/4, and the 4 channel powering the component set is on 1/3 gain .I was advised that it could be the tracking unit fitted to the car being too close to the equilizer causing the interference,Do you think this is possible
Great Video as usual! For the luv of all that is holy next time set the parking brake before the time-lapse videos...my OCD hit max triggered watching the Toyota being shifted back and forth;)
Great Video !!!! Those Accessories he bought from Taco Tunes are pretty nice most of the Time !!! Those ppl put a lot of Effort into there product!!

Yeah the sub was a curious choice

@@smokesgtp That's almost twice the power and a standard woofer/enclosure.
@@bbchester6 Exactly my point. I'm just saying an 8" can do a great job for non-bassheads, but not with 120 watts. That thing will be anemic at best
I like the use of heat forming the Kydex at around 7:50 to make mounting extensions for the powered sub.
That literally was plug and play Dean!!!!!
Finally a highlander with a complete set up 🥰😍
Besides the sub this guy made some good calls.
he needs one of those 8" kicker down-firing boxes. The one with the Kicker Comp RT 8"....
The taco tunes stuff is pretty top notch. They make plug and play harnesses and brackets...
Great install as always guys
I love that tesa tape so much
KINKY??
Tesa Tape could be used in place of zip ties by the law enforcement :)
Mohammed Arshad Mahmood cool
That’s gonna be a nice sounding system
It's like bringing a sandwich to the restaurant and asking them to make it for you !!
They're in business to make money. Don't want the job send him to the next shop and possibly lose money and a future customer.

Hey Dean you mentioned the owner was from up North where heat is needed. Where is he from? I live in Indiana very close to Michigan (cccccoooollllddd)

Remove it altogether because it will not stick well to that thin plastic and it wouldn’t work very good

Quick question, which website was it again you guys used to see how to remove panels?
Kicker speakers are the best 100 rms

It was not our call
The customer decides
Apologies sir. My comment was towards the customer not you guys.
All good I figured that.
Good to see Dean has gained some weight.
Nope we shot this last year

Morel very NICE :)
Question! Why do you put deadening around door speakers?
Door panels vibrate and resonate.
If your speaker is transferring vibration to the mounting surface you lose sound and sound quality therefore you apply a sound deadener to prevent that loss.

No that is odd. What do the gains look like. Is it there if they are down?

All that and no no fast rings?
1.07 - 1.08 secs fast rings?
By the way the speakers and the gear were organized, the customer seems to be a very demanding individual.
You mean obsessive compulsive...
has this person ungraded the subwoofer yet?
Cool
Are you wearing socks? Or are those shoes? Or are they both? Either way, what are thooooooseeeee?!
Vibram Five Fingers minimalist shoes.
@3:57 😂
So so fast...go in normal speed please!
