Matthew Snowden Had a great little running session Matt. Relaxing to control it from any seat especially when you need to keep moving to be in the little bit of sun.
I was looking at some Gauge 1 locos at the Barnsley model show and they seem to be closer in scale to the Hogwarts express than G. Both run on 45mm track of course.
I Love it!!! I just purchased one (second hand) (GREAT DEAL @ $50CND) I have a Harry Potter Christmas tree waiting for it's final touch!!! this video made me even more excited!!!!! thank you!
It is very good value for money Gabrielle. I have ordered the rechargeable battery for mine. I hope you continue to enjoy it all year round. Have a good Christmas.
Than you live. That is a great offer of advice for those that wish to run prototypical trains. The mix of 16mm scale, 1:22.5, gauge one, usa outline, continental outline and other ambiguities is a much bigger issue for g scale modelers. Have you seen the model figures some people use?!
Well you can't blame them. Use the same running gear at least for several trains. Piko, LGB and Bachmann do it on far more expensive trains. There may be other hidden features based on the Christmas train.
John Mellor I see, I guess they were new to the large scale product. But, I noticed that the large scale Polar Express didn't have the 2-8-4 wheel arrangement, instead it had 2-8-2 wheels, which I think they shrunk the size of the engine for maybe the bends.
I acquired the Hogwarts Express in "G" scale pre-owned, complete EXCEPT the remote control was missing. The train set will not operate unless you have the remote control? Very disappointing! Had I been aware of that I would have passed on the train set. I figured I would pass that along to anyone looking to score this set, No remote = No run.
Yes, that is a big problem with remote control items. Fortunately Playmobil offer spares at a reasonable price for their sets. Not sure how good Lionels service is - let me know.
Yes Boundless, this was a continental HO layout until most of the track was lifted to make way for the g-scale circuit. A circuit of HO track remains for the odd running session.
This Lionel set.. Shortly to be released by Hornby.. Is not to scale. Perhaps the coaches are close to gauge one. I wonder what scale Hornby will claim it is.
It is a cheap toy rather than a model. Very low levels of detail and completely inaccurate modelling. I wonder why when they are making a mold they don't try harder to get it right. It runs around the track OK though!
I quite like this??! Makes quite a striking appearence seeing it on the track!! I love that self control feature!!

Haha, wel it was wel worth it then :)
Matthew Snowden The reviews on the USA sites were good. Apparently it will also play Christmas tunes?
Xmas tunes lol???! Wel even better then :)

Looks to run well , and I am sure you will sort it over the points
***** A bit of extra weight in the loco and the pony truck should help. Runs fine if a bit noisy.
Why does everyone put the brake coach the wrong way, you put the brake coach at the back with the smaller windows facing at the end of the train

Also, the same bell and train's go sound, is the same sound effect the Polar Express does, except the whistles.

That is interesting. The Piko models have different valve gear and sometimes a pony truck but reuse the same basic motor block.
John Mellor Wow.

1:43 HO lady?

Gauge 1 not g scale

:/ not quite satisfied with that model.
