  • This is quick walkthrough of my homebrew sBitx transceiver. The rig is based on the design by VU2ESE Ashhar Farhan and uses his sBitx software running on a Rasberry Pi. It also includes the sBitx Pi Hat with the WM8731 codec and SI5351. The rig operates on all bands from 80 to 10 meters and supports SSB, CW and all digital modes including native FT8 handling right in the radio software. More details on my blog and Farhan's sBitx github site.

Can't wait until Bill gets an antenna up down south for a QSO between the two of you! ;-) 73 - Dino KLØS

Me too! Now that I'm running out of problems to debug with the rig I can turn to my antenna. I have a hex beam, tripod and rotator brand-new in the box waiting for my attention.

Nice! You're going to need one hell of a big pine box to put in though. 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks Hank - I plan to do some re-engineering of some of the boards before I package it up. The IF module is about 4 times as large as it needs to be and I can consolidate the Tx stages. The IF was a repurposed spare from a prior project that was not nearly as space constrained. By the way, as of this AM I have worked 9 of the 13 Colony special event stations, plus one of the bonus stations - all SSB- on 80,40 and 20.
