I have hundreds of radios. The best am portable I have for performance. ease of tuning, selectivity, sensitivity, good sound. I paid a dollar for it. at a hamfest. Zenith Royal 705 Long Distance. I replace the electrolitics but did not have to align it as it is perfect. built 1964 old but very good over all performance. Just remember to replace the old electrolytic caps.
good video. shows you have to actually test to find out what is the true performance. Everyone needs to understand you are using the original GE super radio(not the newer useless replacements).
The original ge super radio used capacitor tuning. The newer ge super radio model replacements are bad bad bad. Its not just the dc tuning its the extremely noisy local oscillator so they will NOT pick up weak stations. My old german nordmende portable from 1966 beats the ge super radio. Best ever zenith 705 runs on 4 aa cells for a long time.
I have not looked at that unit, but the specs don't look too terrible. Nice beefy AM antenna, 1khz fine tuning, FM with RDS, rechargable battery in the radio, 7-segment signal meter, seperate bass/treble controls....seems pretty feature packed. Sangean generally made a solid product. I wouldn't be afraid to try it out.

Do you have any experience with sangean radios, I'm considering the pr-d15
