You have to pronounce the "Z" at the end of the words: Trez-rouz. It means "red sand" in Breton. It is on that beach that the Battle of Camaret ended with a complete defeat of the Anglo-Dutch fleet that had come to attack Brest in 1694. All the bodies were buried on the dunes behind the beach as they were considered heretics.
we were in Crozon in the summer... Ended up North East in Cameret Sur Mer. Lovely area.
