I like Pastor Ed and I hope he does become more bold. I’ve been attending for a few months and I want to hear certain truths that I feel he says but in a nicer way but we need conviction too.

This is so interesting as I grow in Christ even a song from Rod Stewart’s Tonigjts the Night my spirit was hearing something so horrible . As a victim of child molestation and never actually understanding now I heard the lyrics and felt a feeling of perversion which triggered me. My testimony is strong and I never want any little girls to go thru this- but my God is a good one. I will help any little girl who needs me. I am a warrior of God who at 53 wants to share my story.

Thank you for preaching this service. I have been on a rabbit hole for a LONG while on the entirety of the entertainment industry and some other pressing issues. I brought my older (middle school) kids into this service to hear this message because they just think I like conspiracy. You described and explained everything so well to a T and it helped confirm things for me and helped open up their eyes. We started attending CBC central last year in the middle of the trending series and missed this message. I am so glad to have heard it. Thank you for changing lives and opening eyes. You are all amazing pastors serving an incredible God. ✨️

Been praying that you guys would eventually do a podcast after the sermon. We go to FBC Durant in Oklahoma, and have a great church family, but always listen to you and Joby Martin from 1122 in Jacksonville each week as well. 1122 has a deepen podcast each week that goes over the sermon and it’s full of great content. Excited to have another to listen to with The Trending Podcast

a revelation i had while Ed was talking about lines vs. directions:
lines place you in a bucket when you make mistakes, whereas directions correct you when you go off path.
for example, if you draw a line with alcohol at “no more than 1 a night” and then one night you lose control and have 2 or 3, you’ve now “crossed the line” and now you’ve messed up. if you’re not careful, you’ll label yourself as having abandoned the plan, and now all the work you did leading up to that day seems meaningless. but if you’re heading in a direction, and you get off course, you can be redirected (by the Holy Spirit) and you’re right back on the same path.
a HUGE struggle i’ve had before is “crossing a line” and then having an attitude of “well, now that i’ve crossed the line, i guess it’s too late now 🤷🏽♂️” and then i remain in that sin, whereas when you’re heading in a direction and you get off, you repent, accept God’s grace, and you’re right back on the same path.
i pray this podcast blesses everyone else listening like it’s blessed me! 🙏🏼

I loved the sermon this Past Sunday, and I think many many people have known for many years now, how mainstream media, music, movies, and all the arts have dabbled more and more into the evil. Have moved closer to the Devil and further from God. But all these “big artists” or “celebrities” would just call it art and people always say there is no boundaries of art, or no rules of art. They are half right, but there are always underlying rules and guidelines in everything we do, and that applies to the Art world as well. I’d say it’s even harder to see in the art world because everyone is trying to be seen or do something extremely creative and then it becomes a very slippery slope once you start living for the world and lose sight of God.
I say all this to say, thank you for being bold, for being direct and standing on God’s word, for explicitly taking a stand on God’s side, and it’s an extremely hard convo to have because people don’t like to put “rules” on art.
