No data scrubbing; no sale! Data scrubbing is just that important!

I want to hope it is a temporary situation, but did not see any update on why this isn’t currently available, or when it will be fixed. I agree that this is a priority.

Probably depends what you are looking for. But lots of IO on the M.2 and USB connectivity and the NVMe can be configured as cache for the disks so you can easily get to high read and write speeds. And solid compute for virtual hardware, with again faster storage for VMs etc. So if you are running VMs or containers that benefit from fast IO, you want networking to support that.
And creators, graphic artists etc love this kind of thing because you can have cheap mass storage in the disk bays, and super fast storage for video or image editing on the NVMe drives.
But if you are just looking to play media and use storage for movies and files at home, 1Gbps might meet your needs. But you can be sure that if it came with 1Gbps interfaces, people would complain it isn't fast enough to make use of the NVMe's and the USB 3.2 interfaces, which are also 10Gbps.
The Pro version is cheaper, and the base version even cheaper and they come with 2.5Gbps interfaces.

    Does not support ECC memory.

Yes, and that’s true of most of these platforms as they use desktop/mobile cpus. Though the chance of data corruption is very slight, it’s possible. So if it’s a concern to you then you might have to buy a different class of hardware. Standard DDR5 does provide single bit memory correction, but it’s not as robust as ECC memory.
It’s a great point to call out though, thank you 👍
