There’s some pretty fantastic independent bottling’s of Caol Ila out there. This one sounds like an interesting one that may need time to open up. Keep those scotch reviews coming please! 💯🥃
I've got a Berry Bros. & Rudd single barrel, cask strength independent bottling of Caol Ila 12 that is one of my favorite Scotches I've owned. I finished a bottle of it, found out there were less than 250 bottles produced from that cask, went back and bought another. That same store has a 7yr independent Caol Ila that I might have to snag.
Finally a bit more Scotch on the list. I understand you guys need to keep up views and probably most of it comes from the US hence the 70% American whiskeys you review but I have to be honest I really miss the balance here. If I need to consider buying a bottle of scotch or Irish specially with more recent distilleries or bottlelings - the Vault isn't my number one go to channel anymore. It's honestly too bad as I genuinely love you guys and the conent you make. Cheers
Is there any chance of a review of Bushmills "Prohibition" edition (with a "Peaky Blinders" tie in ?) I can't decide if it's merely Red Bush or regular Bushmills at a higher proof.
The power of suggestion...that's a fine line to tread... ***The SLB Drinks guys are going to be down in Austin would love to see you guys collab w/them. Trenton comes up w/all kinds of crazy tasting notes.
I've always preferred the full length Titan animation. There's always something about "Rex and Daniel destroy the Sun" that whispers, "As the prophecies foretold."
I wonder how this would compare to Ardbeg Wee Beastie, at 5 year old. As an aside, my son and daughter-in-law just visited Oaxaca and bought me a bottle of Pechuga Mezcal. Mezcal de Pechuga is Mezcal that is distilled with something hanging over the still. Pechuga means breast in Spanish, and it is usually a chicken breast that is hung over the still. This version says it was coyote that was hung. Very earthy.
I really love this bottle. I'm surprised you didn't like it more. Everyone's tastes are different though. Maybe it's a different Barrel of Old Particular Caol Ila 8 Cask Strength.
We have a great descriptor for these upfront young rowdy whiskys in my group of friends... We refer to the "high drama" as a knife fight in a phonebooth = a beautiful mess.
Oy! I've been a follower for years now, really enjoy what you guys do. I am on a tight budget and I'm looking for a bourbon for someone that has a very pronounced sweet tooth. Are there any bourbons that you would pour neat for someone who's sweet tooth is bordering diabetes? Commenters are welcome to respond as well.
“Did you just burp in the midst of hearing?” 😂😂😂 Best intro ever. Also, there’s such a bounty of amazing flavors to be found in mezcal! Glad to hear you guys talk about it. Side note: I am also multilingual, yesterday I burped and farted at the same time. Cheers!
This is the kind of bottle that is fantastic to finish in a 1 liter mini barrel that has been readied with a couple of month prep of your favorite fortified wine. Some kind of Sherry, Port or whatever you like. You can finish 4 bottles in the barrel but beware the first one that goes in will only take 24-36 hours to finish. Each bottle after will take longer, 3-4 days for #2, a week perhaps for #3 and 2 weeks for #4. It's a lot of fun with these independent bottles that are young cask strength from a refill bourbon hogshead. Cheers
I get that bile/baby sick on almost all single malts. Can't get past it so have never really gotten into Scotch. Tried some Stranahan's and still get a hint that gets in the way of really enjoying it. Not sure if there is a way to desensitize.
I got that slight sick, fermenty note actually on a couple scotches recently but not every time I drink them Wonder if it's something i ate that day or just the young-ness
I was tasting a French whiskey with "novice" frind of mine. I think Brenne. He had trouble picking out tasting notes beyond "sweet" but was enjoying it. I noted it smelled like bazooka Joe bubble gum. He stopped, and said. "Oh, I HATE Bazooka Joe!" And poured it out. 😂😂
Mooch rating for this episode: 1 +1 for extra pour, all most got the comparison pour but sabotaged himself. What was that I have no clue. I think the pressure has gotten to him, he might be losing his mooch magic.
I've had some great independent bottlings of Caol Ila, and one awful bottling - Smoky Scot. It was 5 year bourbon barrel matured, and was almost completely clear. It smelt and tasted like a cheap white wine. Pure vinegar, instant headache, and the hangover was atrocious!
I haven’t been able to find caol ila for a while. The first isla scotch i fell in love with. …on the other hand I just tried michters bourbon. Son if a bitch that stuffs good.
Let's go! Appreciate the amazing content gentlemen, thank you as always!

I have a 25 yr CI. Been waiting to crack it for over a year. Cheers!
I have some great SMWS bottlings from Caol Ila... *cough* I mean... *cough* ... _Distillery 53_.
The full titan celebration is facking awesome. Y’all are the blueprint for whiskey reviews.
Wow... I happen to have this one thanks to my visit to Irene Tan last year. :D Cheers!
I got it from Irene Tan too. 😊
I want to see you guys confuse Briana on the tasting notes, that would be amazing :D
Yes! Let this happen😂
The Rhode Island/Connecticut Somm powers are strong! Glad to see Cliff hit the big leagues as a TITAN OF WHISKEY!
“…I’m multilingual…”
I love how some of the things Daniel says flies under the radar.😂
GOOD MORNING YOU MB'S.... 🥃

Thank you for the review guys 🥃

Hope you all enjoyed my contribution of the Askeg single barrel
Old particular gets very unique. For sure. I have had there Ardmore 18 and it was pretty intense as well
Another great vlog MBs

Thanks for the baby vomit note, Daniel. Love that I now have words to put with that sour funk note I sometimes get with Scotch.😂
Wow 2 full length Titan song in 7 days. Almost forgot what it sounded like.
Full length Titan intro. Nice.
Brianna would absolutely just laugh and go: WHAT???!😄

Has anyone an idea what the music in the intro is? Absolutely love it!

Daniel: A-B comparison in class, IN CLASS..
completely dodging Rex's mooch ability
2 points team Daniel
Mezcal is my new favorite whiskey 😅
I got that slight sick, fermenty note actually on a couple scotches recently but not every time I drink them
Wonder if it's something i ate that day or just the young-ness
THE COSMIC BUNGHOLE DEMANDS A RETURN!
the BUNG HAS SPOKEN..

Use the ‘Wrong Tasting Notes’ for the L5 Som. Test 😇😅😅😅
I knew a scotch tape reference was coming
Every time I have a dram of my Port Askaig, I'm reminded of how similar to me it tastes like mezcal

Age vs Maturity.
Very apparent in this video
Maybe have a few whiskeys and 2 of them have bogus notes, others have actual notes and see if they can pick out real vs fake.
If it's an immature whiskey, could it be finished in some charred oak?
😂 Always entertaining!

Scotch Tape note?.....thought you meant BUCKET. lol.
11:23 so true
I would be 100% on board with looking like a stooge and pulling off ridiculous, thoughts, mooching and genius thoughts.
TGIF MB's :)
Brianna and Schwood. She'd call you out and he'd look for it and bend to social pressure but not break. Until he did.

Since it's a fresh bottle adding water will bring the peat out
I feel like you have run into some special effects all of a sudden :)
2:33 - Is that a Joe Biden quote?
I do taste what they taste, but it's more Munchausen by proxy then Stockholm syndrome in a placebo sorta way ya kno?
A pity mooching is still a mooch.
The only thing I know about Wako is David Coresh.
That's the nasty sour sick that I get from Speyburn 10 and from Writers Tears. Hard pass.
