A lot of parents leave their kids at game stop while they go out shopping. That’s why they now prohibit minors from entering without parents
The good days. I live in a small town with a even smaller mall. When I was a kid my mom would be shopping and I would be gaming with the kids who showed up. They had the classic demos in there 😂
Lmao 🤣 kids arnt allowed to be kids anymore apparently..... I get there are some bad eggs but you then tell the parents when they pick them back up that neither of them are allowed in the store again.

Jacob I used to work at GameStop and we too didn’t allow kids under 18 in. The reason was that parents would leave their kids unsupervised and shop at different stores and expecting us to watch their kids. We were not babysitters and have a business to run. We did that so when a parent would try to drop off their kids we would say they need to be accompanied by an adult.
That’s weak as hell and lazy considering there sales are mostly kids
@@shadtannn how is that weak and lazy? Our job is to sell games and run a store not babysit kids. I wasn’t getting paid to watch kids. Now if parents wanted to pay me then maybe that would’ve been different but instead these parents wanted to shop without the hassle of their kids at their side and treat us like a daycare we were not.
I remember when it was Funcoland and the commercial for the place literally had the mom dropping their kid off and coming back later.
Oh yeah, my old store was next to a Sally Beauty and Mom's would dump their brats on us while they went over there :/ I WISH my store had a sign like this bc goddamn i wasn't being paid enough to watch these kids

There are two chains of retro game stores in that part of Virginia (Old Skool and Video game Heaven) and you drove right by 2 or 3 locations. If you ever go back that way they're worth stopping by.

You went to the best places around Hampton Roads. You missed a retro gaming store called Old Skool near downtown Portsmouth that always has many different handheld systems. There's one if Suffolk as well.

It’s cool seeing you do a video around the gamestops I’ve very frequently been too around Chesapeake and Portsmouth. Just be careful in the Hampton roads area in general shits dangerous lol mainly Norfolk, Newport News, and Portsmouth. Not the places to be making wrong turns lol good vid tho man!
GameStop is the worst place ever, the employees are rude and lack basic knowledge of anything, plus they price gouge everything and basically scam you when you return stuff. I prefer to go to the local hole in the wall game places…

As for price gouging? Nah. I went into my local Gamestop and noticed they had a complete copy of Persona Q2 on 3DS, a game that had a notoriously low print for $34.99, whereas most other stores have the game listed for anywhere between $50-70 just for the cartridge alone.

First GameStop (and CHKD thrift shop) was in Downtown Suffolk. Not surprising at the prices at that thrift store. They're nothing like they once were.

I don't go to Gamestop as often anymore. In my area of Wisconsin, I prefer Recordhead, Mega Media Xchange, Colosseum Games, Makes Cents Variety Store, Universal Collectables, New Wave, Digital Wreck, etc. I also don't really buy new games at full price anymore.

My neck of the woods, the McArthur mall is actually dead, and is going to be closing. City of Norfolk bought it. Also, you’re brave going to the GameStop in Portsmouth, rough area. Good video tho, new of all of the locations. Ohh CHKD (children’s hospital of kings daughter) is typically furniture they do not electronics, all profits go to the hospital.

I have a cool story about gamestop and a not reset console. I went to the store, and as I was leaving, this dude with a halo 5 xbox one got turned down by gamestop bc it wasn't reset, so as he was leaving, I offered him $70, and now I have an xbox one.

The one you said was kind of a shady area was spot on, some wild stuff goes down in that part of Norfolk, worked there for three years! As for the one before that, across from the Aldi my dad actually used to be the store leader for that place. Quite literally saved it from closing down lol

The free phones are legit. You just need to have Medicaid or food stamps to get one. If you live in a large city you will see the stands all over. Usually outside walmarts, and grocery stores.

I remember when I sold my Nintendo Switch to a gamestop last year they told me the won't take you Switch even if you remove the sd card from it while in the store, so it has to be removed prior to entering.

All the CHKD thrift stores in this area are insanely over price and they get a little wild when you question the prices. I post shorts and reels all the time complaining about their prices.
