This is summer be Hydrated if not u may have sunstroke drink juices or milkshakes , in summer it is best to visit hill station such as Ooty, Kodaikanal, coimbatore , Darjeeling,kulu manali , shimla, north eastern states

There is a temple in Kuala Lumpur in the indian section of the city, "Sri Kandaswamy Temple" that looks similar. Completely stunning.

i am so sorry, that chennai did not go to plan, as a chennaite myself..
I have a few points, that can help you.
NEVER COME IN SUMMERS. Because, people actually die due to heatstrokes. I would suggest a revisit during Diwali, because, the city is at its peak fun during that phase.

I've spent much of my younger days in Chennai and Ratna Café is one of my favorite places! And the speciality of their idly is the way they pour the sambar on your plate.. they literally dunk your idly with mug loads. :)

There are many things in Chennai actually like the beach , it's world's 2nd longest sea beach , then Apostle (ST) Thomas sites from his hiding place to his death , and his burial ground and the church on top his grave 🪦, snake park, Jalarikattu their local festival, some other places around the city .
Next time u can go for surfing in surf turf (kovalam), go kart in ecr, street food in mint street(sowcarpet), bars and cafes in nungambakkam, shopping in tnagar and pondy bazar,..

General places I recommend anyone to visit in and around TamilNadu- Chennai - Pondy Bazaar market , Kora food street , Marina and Elliott’s beaches , Metro ,Phoenix Mall ,Anna Zoo, Puduchery ,Ooty-Masinagudi death road and mudhumalai tiger reserve safari. 13 arch bridge which is longer the one in Sri Lanka located in Sengottai-punalur railway track . Thanjavur Brihadeeswara temple and maratha palace, Pichavaram Boating in mangrove forest , Hogenakkal waterfalls parisal boating ,Dhanushkodi old harbour and dhanushkodi point(Arichal Munai), Theri kadu which is a red sand desert kinda place , ripple adventure munnar and tea estates of munnar Alapuzha boat house . Madurai Meenakshi temple and Nayakar palace and eat Kottuparotta and bun parotta , Kodaikanal Guna caves and Poombarai, Tirunelveli Nellaiyappar Temple and eat Tirunelveli halwa. Of course you can ’t travel to all place but atleast try to visit some places you’ll probably like them.

Chennai nor india is a place to explore in the afternoon. only hill stations can be done. Try to go to ooty. much better place. with no rain in sight for next few week. should be the ideal place to visit given you are close to it

Next trip gujrat. There are various places to see in gujrat so i suggest you 1 statue of unity. Tallest statue in the world. 2 in surat city there are biggest office in the world which name dream City office 3 Ahmedabad Robot cafe. 4 Ahmedabad river front. So when you are coming in gujrat 😊
