@@marcushaynes1051 I was able to spec them all out and we can get the same set again! They’re surprisingly reasonable but hoping to find some local on Marketplace if possible!
Well, after you said, it was a race car then all bets were off.😅 Like to know what in the World caused that fire to burn that thing to a crispy crunchy!
It looks like it was more pro street than race car as evidenced by the Sanden 508 compressor and dual plane intake. A real shame though for it to end up like that.
I certainly hope you and your family are doing well and hope the hurricane rains didn't flood you all. I am praying for all who have been affected by that nasty weather, and our prayers are with all who were affected by it. I really enjoy your channel and all the great cars you save and the ones you've rebuilt. God bless you all!
Lady Luck shined down on you big time! That motor alone is easily worth 10x what you paid for the car. Not to mention how much the ‘55 would bring parted out. This is a huge win for you and your channel!
This is a good one. Please stay on it and continue with a series, week to week about getting this thing on the road. At least with the bare essentials.👀
I love to see content that I learn at the same time. Like this. I watch this because I love mechanics and I'm eager to learn. I'm not a mechanic, but I wanna apply what I learn to my own vehicle.
That is a healthy 502! Sad tragedy for that Hot Rod ‘55. Fire really destroyed someone’s pride and joy. It’s going to be a big project to restore that beast. Is a great purchase.
Reading comments reminds me so much of different people’s taste. What I see in a car like that is a man with too much money that finally overloaded his butt. Over built and finally overloaded his intelligence. Not speaking about Mike and dad, talking about dude who finally built it up to a catastrophe
Great find. Think I'd pull the front clip and the body to get to the running gear. And paint chassis and running gear. Good luck. Going to be a wild ride.
You guys got super lucky on that motor rolling. Man what a score 🤩🤩🤩 I had a 4 bolt small block that suffered a carb fire. Chiseled the intake off, pulled the heads and 1 cylinder per side were just destroyed.
I dig the look, I really loved the maverick and still think it would look awesome clear coated or shine juiced and put a new era spoiler and tail lights on it. This one has a truly sinister look from the front.
Hi.U and DAD done it again.U are DEFINITELY a risk taker.I enjoy ur myriad adventures bringing old iron back from the abyss.Peace, joy and see ya on the flip side.
Hi Budget Buildz on purchasing the burnt 55, great engine to work with. My first time watching you all work on here, I'm amazed at how you got it so cheap. The engine alone is worth thousands as is. Great deals where you live. Maybe there's a cheap motor home there for about 5,000.00. My wife and I are in our early sixties and are looking to retire and travel the states to see family members, not too big. Just enough room for a bed, sink, stove, and tv. We plan on living in it the rest of our time on earth.
Absolutely loving this type of build! To have the money and patience to get this roadworthy (in the end?), and not let this sit and rot away. Wish you all the best on this project (and of course other future projects)! :D
Get 'er going down the road again - radius the rear wheel openings, either leave it in the crispy rust - or paint it flat black, and run it next to Finnegan's Blasphemi. What a sight that would be! Nice score! Also, props to you for acknowledging the loss of the former owner. 👍
Can i just give you guys a big 👍 for spending money where it counts... glad you bought the msd stuff. But also kudos on taking on this big but beautiful job
I'd have taken a half second look and said it's done...too cool you can fight thru it and make magic 👌🏾 nothing can beat having the know how and maybe a little fight thru any potential problems
That is awesome! Way to go guys! Makes me wish you could've gotten ahold of Gerard Butler's Early Bronco Half Cab and see if there was any saving her after the house fire.
Burned cars are the absolute toughest to resurrect. The metal is fatigued, warped and the mechanicals are a big question mark. The smell in the body shell will linger forever.
This one is fun to watch, but before they even touch the interior it's a big money loser should they ever try to put it back on the street. Love the joy on his face as he works though.
They’re definitely beyond a nice restoration that’s for sure! As long as they are structurally sound and safe though..As far as chassis and inner structure go. We put the burnt comet on the road and it’s such a blast to drive! It has not carried over any burnt smell with everything stripped.
@@My2ndtimearound this is body-on-frame construction so as long as the chassis is sound it should be safe to drive. I'd be a bit more wary of resurrecting a unibody vehicle though.
Though true that all the body panels are warped, that is because they have been normalized, since manufacturing (stamping process) had induced internal stresses. All that is gone and reworking the metal to "nearly straight" barely counts as "deformation hardening". In other words, the body should be easier to make straight, but it will also bend more easily.
That is awesome to the max I love it. You take a burnt car everyone thinks is trash and fix a motor like that oh man can’t wait to see this ride like the other burnt car you fixed and put back on the road. Great work guys can’t wait.
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⛵ HOLY CRAP! 502 Big block, looks like that car was definitely race ready 🤘 congratulations guys on it running so well, this is definitely going to be a fun ride.
