Initially I shared the same question with Emanuel Galdr. But then I realize that this course should be designed for foreigners settling in Japan (it is broadcast in Japan anyway). Probably they have learnt most grammars and are smooth in daily conversations already. What they are still ignorant of are the advanced expressions in response to specific situations, say, how to praise a lady in an eloquent way. And those seems to be the core of this programme.

If any of you feels that this the video is hard to understand, or the teacher speaks so fast then just watch it-that was also part of learning am i right? If you don't want to do it then you can watch another series called Erin ga Choosen(Its much more easier than this one)

This Japanese study course was broadcast on NHK and has an accompanying text that viewers were expected to purchase in order to fully participate. www.nhk-book.co.jp/detail/000061892892006.html. Happy to find this on RUclips as I still have the texts.

Thank you for posting 清ルミ先生 NHK TV language series. She also has a series of books explaining frequently used Japanese expressions. Her books and TV series seem to be aimed at JLPT N2-N3 level (intermediate to advanced students). During this program, the question form taught is actually a Keigo (敬語) expression, and is too difficult for beginner level.

Well, I've been learning Japanese for 6 months and pretty much can follow what's going on, so it may be good for late beginners as well

The teacher uses not so simple Japanese to explain easy grammar and vocabulary. Maybe for the more advanced expressions this is fine, but if you could understand the explanations you wouldn't really need to learn the content of the lesson.

Nihongo de kurasou, Japanese language class. Don't even need to know the language to put two and two together. Easy language, far easier than English and French, I would know.

the materials are nice but the actors have the worst memory (bad phrasing, they cut sentences when they forget the dialogue and rush the next words only to make understanding more vague) and really horrible pronunciation that can make intermediate learners question their own Japanese.
For example, せっかくプレゼントあげたのに何これって becomes さかかプレゼント for those unfamiliar with the phrase... really irritating.

    どの層を目的にした日本語レッスンか不明すぎる。先生の説明も酷いし、長文説明をなぜ急いで話すのか。もう少し他言語の字幕とか入れたりして説明すればいいのに。

I think it's not so necessary to memorize such a polite expression, you can just learn more simple and practical saying.
    丁寧な日本語を教えるのはいいかもしれないけど、ちょっと回りっくどい言い方じゃないかと…
    もっと簡単で実用的な表現でいいと思いますよ。
    敬語もそんなに要らないと思います。advanced class なのか?
