Wow, does this bring back memories! I had the good fortune of talking with Austin Willis a few months before his death and he talked about his "Seaway" stint. I think John Candy credited Stephen Young with fashioning the word "Schmenge"....eventually the name of the fictitious polka band featuring Candy and Eugene Levy. it was a fun derogatory name he called others ("don't be such a schmenge...") back in the day.
This must have been from the two-part colour episode that was eventially reedited into the feature length film "Gunpowder and Paint". The entire film can be found on RUclips.
I would like to see this show come out on blu ray. Featuring newly restored and remastered prints from the original CBC negatives with the original CBC openings and closings.
Not possible/not going to happen, due to there being no big demand for this series due to there being no big fandom for this series, therefore no buyers for said Blu-Ray set (also, the show would have to have new remastered prints made for a large cost, which no company is going to invest in due to a low return based on what I mentioned above.)
That theme is a friggin' mover!
There was an American counterpart to this show that was produced by ZIV Television called _Harbor Command_ .

I wanted to see a few episodes of their 1950's series RCMP but haven't found any.
