I was surprised of his expressionless face when Celine Dion came up? Did he not know who she was?

The was never a tie again, because they changed the rules to prevent it. Several countries refused to participate in 1970 (the year after the tie) in protest of the EBU letting 4 countries win.

"Entries" means how many songs (countries) were competing that specific year.

Nah they did sing in the Norwegian entry because it's required. Although they only sang as much as was required. So majority of the song is instrumental

There was singing in '95. The compiler of the songs screwed up.

This year's competition just finished on the weekend 😊 I believe the tiebreaker now is they go back to who got the highest score from the public. Also did you not notice Celine Dion in 1988?

5:34 Spain is killing it 😂 It's been over 50 years since they've won, the longest dry spell followed by France who last won in 1977.

1987→ You didn't notice that this was Johnny Logan's second victory-the first was in 1980. He was the first (and until 2023 the only) performer who won twice (+ a 3rd time as a songwriter in 1992). He isn't called "Mr Eurovision" for nothing!
1988→ How could you miss Celine Dion? OK, you didn't notice the name...There's a lot of information on the screen, it's understandable. But her face? And (especially) her VOICE?! How can you not recognise that voice?! How can anyone who's into music in the last 3+ decades not recognise THAT VOICE?! The woman is a living legend!!!
1990→ The song is titled "Together:1992" Although I've done zero research on the lyrics, my first guess is that it's refering to the European Community's (today EU) goal to establish a single market within the Community by the end of 1992. 1992 was considered the year when the member states would become "one" in a sense and its coming was highly anticipated the years before.

It is organized and broadcasted by the EBU (European Broadcasting Union). And is televised in every European country and some non-European countries.
Every European country with a tv/radio station can be a member of the EBU. Only members (country) of the EBU can enter the ESC. Some non-European countries are granted access by the EBU to enter the Contest.

Dansevise Denmark 1963 is the first Eurovision winner that made me perk up. France Gall in 1965 also stands out from the early winners.

You can find the jury vote for every single contest on youtube. Except 1956 as they only announced the winner. Most entertaining is the 1969 results as there were four winners and much consternation.
A load of countries boycotted in 1970 because of 1969 result.

Fun fact is that none of the Luxembourgish winners were actually from that country, Vicky Leandros is Greek and the rest is French
