It's the chemical reaction between the two as they neutralize each other. Lemon juice and vinegar are both acids while baking soda is a base. Acid vs alkaline. And as I said it's still reaction between the two which causes the affect. That's why it was just a waste to put the baking soda in a bowl and then add the vinegar allow the reaction to happen let it simmer down till it was neutralized and then throw it on the pan and then add lemon juice. Does vinegar and baking soda have already neutralized one another. Therefore adding the lemon juice to the now neutralized solution isn't going to do squat. It's the chemical reaction that does all the work.
@@kelly-annflanagan7693 the chemical reaction doesn't do shit. It literally just produces CO2, some salts, and a small amount of heat. None of this cleans. The reason the second method didn't work was because there was a lot more baking soda, making the mix basic. Acidic solutions work a lot better for cleaning metal/rust. Baking soda + vinegar as a cleaning method is just a stupid myth because it makes bubbles. Vinegar + some table salt to add some grit will work a lot better.
