I love hearing Tom talk about stand-up, comedy, and the road. I would always rather hear someone talk about intricacies of what they know well rather than half-ass a convo about something they know nothing about but think it's what people wanna hear. Tom Papa is the man!

I completely agree! Was thinking the same thing watching his first episode with Lisa gilroy. As soon as he meets someone even if it’s just the first or second time, he plays and has fun in every conversation

Tom is absolutely correct about manners and niceties. I know Rick is dug in on his perspective, and I used to be the same, but time teaches that logic isn’t the supreme rule.
Mr. Glassman, Rick's father, has got to be one of the funniest humans that isn't a known comedian.

Mr. Roger's didn't have indoor shoes.. he switched to comfort shoes when he gets home. He wears them in his backyard, when he visits neighbors, and other places. The shoes he takes off are his professional shoes, which were less comfortable.

Rick! Man I just want to let you know that in a world where I can no longer trust a single business, a woman and for sure cant trust my government. I can really trust in your comedy that it doesn't matter who is on the show (though I do tend to LOVE most of your guest and knowing them well before) but everything is going to be a great time where I laugh actually to the point where I feel weird because I am now hearing myself laughing and wondering if there is someone out there somewhere that can hear me or something. Your stuff is great and I think we would be best friends in a life where I make something of myself but regardless of all that I make a point to find a place in alot of conversations with all people that I know to let them know how hilarious your show is for all that you and your editors/animators are doing together!!! Thank you for helping make parts of my time living much better!

RICK! I didn't know you still liked actual smoking. You should get a Volcano! You can choose the temp. and it's much healthier. You still get a nice process of grinding and filling it and cleaning it is very easy. It can be shared (which you may not love) BUT there are also bags you can use / hookah type attachments.
I hope you can enjoy smoking again!

I still see Rick as one of the little guys (that's a me thing and not necessarily representative of his standing in the comedy/acting industry) so I'm constantly impressed by the ppl he gets on. Papa has been going for quite a while and I see him as pretty big in the comedy community. Others comics seem to look up to him as an OG (of those still alive at least). Anyway, if it didn't come off this way I want to clarify this is all meant as positive lol. Love ya both

Just need to point out, being organized is not Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. At best what Tom Papa feels is OCPD, the personality disorder. OCD requires fantastical thinking, e.g. if I don't turn the lock on my front door five times, someone will break into the house. Clearly that is not accurate, performing a ritual of lock turning wouldn't affect the likelihood that burglars would break into your house. OCPD is the feeling of stress or anxiety when things are or more specifically are not organized or set in a specific way. Setting things in a specific way has nothing to do with fantastical thinking. Just an FYI.

I think really what manners comes down to is just giving people grace/space to feel comfy. The problem comes from when people expect it of you and judge you for it. Especially if its a less common courtesy. I generally like to be courteous and helpful because often people appreciate it. If they don't, I try not to dwell on it too much as I have my own blind spots with manners. Thinking of other peoples comfort is just a nice thing to do.

I think the reason you are not driven by the feeling on stage is because you came from a loving family and are not constantly in search of that connection.
1:12:30 my theory is that when you hold the joint or cigg away from you like that w/ the palm upward, the smoke doesn't naturally cup back into your hand when you hit it, thus your hand is less likely to stink from smoking. Which is common especially with ciggs
