I mean I do like this game but I like Sonic Mania better
this just goes to show how segas freedom with the fandom is literally the backbone of the company
You know a mod is good when it just feels so natural for the game it just looks like normal gameplay
Actual fact, in the game's files back when this game came out people found the super peel out but it was mostly incomplete using pieces of the modern sonic sprite to form the figure 8 as a base
That peelout animation is sick
I always like Sonic the hedgehog mods that put more detail into Sonic in general like some mods will have like a certain style for Sonic and I just think that's pretty cool
and yet the most impressive thing to me is that they made him the right color. IDK why the modern take on Classic Sonic is so light, he was never like that originally

Okay but that Classic Sonic remodel they did is pretty damn perfect. Looks like they ripped it straight from the Japanese box arts.
It's good but it's not exact as it's still beholden to Sonic Generations' rigging so the body is the wrong size. It's also missing some of my favourite subtle details of the original like the brown in the eyes.
Plus they made him more purpleish like S1 instead of the ugly cyan of generations which is very nice
I been watching the progress of this mod on twitter since last year great to see how far its come
With all the stuff we get for modern sonic mods, it feels nice for classic to get some love
We did it. We removed Santiago.
Now we just gotta fix forces by removing him.

I never liked playing as classic sonic in generations, so this mod seems like an awesome addition. Hopefully they make him fun to play in Sonic and Shadow Generations when that releases

It’s incredible to me just how perfectly the Drop Dash fits right in with Classic Sonic’s arsenal of moves. You can apply it to literally any of the older games and it doesn’t feel out of place.
Not sure if u saw but the drop dash is actually in one of the Sonic 3 prototypes discovered a few years ago.
But yeah Christian Whitehead is a freaking genius. I don't think he was even aware of that demo

@@thevalkyriemercenary9463 i rewatched the prototype videos and unfortunately it appears to be an unintentional glitch from spin dash charging in mid air. I noticed almost every person struggled to even perform it.

As a classic sonic fan this does put a smile on my face
I would get it even if it was just the animation tweaks, classic sonic always felt less toony in 3d, without the circles and whathaveyou.
Now we need a mod that gives him voice lines from the adventures of sonic the hedgehog

@@gamingnubs7628 the year argument would make sense after a certain point butt the year you have chosen, games and every piece of media having to do with visuals had reached mostly its peak and with games such as the one you described here,you would need a pretty powerful pc to support all that and expect from that since then there have been released so many amazing games that don't require you to buy an expensive computer to live these neat experiences so your pc's rating isn't limited to how much it can handle although certainly if you have the economic stability you should strive for the better.

2 brand new ability’s (the super peel out was introduced in sonic cd from 1993)
And was going to drop dash in sonic 3 but was taken out
Really, i didnt know that even though i have watched quite a few sonic 3 beta (or early versions of it) videos
People gave sonic cd lower rating because of the peel out. But now it’s made by a fan it’s suddenly good? This classic sonic is uncanny. There was nothing wrong with Generations Classic Sonic, they changed the way he played to make him more modern and look good in 3D. You can’t just live everything that fans make and hate on SEGA for doing things differently

I still fail to see the purpose of the peel out if the spin dash does the same but protects you from enemies as well. It is pretty useless if you have both options.
Peel out will always remain my favorite thing about Sonic

Why no one is talking about the fact that this mod is crashing the game when entering cutscenes, meaning it's impossible to beat the game with this mod.

While in the making of Sonic X Shadow Generations, what they need to do for Classic Sonic is either put this mod in the game or use Sonic Superstars physics.
Ngl I’d love to see a 3D sonic game with classic characters kinda like srb2 but in 3D model style I think it would be neat to see how classic knuckles and Amy would look officially in 3D
