Man, I think you hit the nail on the damn head with the La Nuit comparison. I don't quite get the whole dogging on the performance of Dark Leather. I mean...okay, I sorta do because of the history with Spicebombs, but if we frame it alongside other lower projection scents, I think it's perfectly fine. I really do love all of the La Nuit flankers, and they all are very intimate scents that need more sprays if you want to project. 12+ sprays of Dark Leather, and I think people are going to notice you - if you want to be noticed. I understand how some people might want original batch Spicebomb Extreme levels of performance, but I do think it's about finding the right occasion for stuff like this.
People’s own wild expectations can really do a number on them to the point where if it’s not exactly how they’d imagined it to be, then that makes it garbage. I really believe this release is gonna age like fine wine & be more appreciated as time goes on. Great review & insight as always.
I dont think its wild to expect more longevity out of a fragrance that COSTS 140 dollars. Projection and longevity is on par with a 40 dollar frag. IMO
Copped samples of this and Sauvage Eau Forte this past weekend, and I actually liked both of them. I'll wait until I can cop it at a discount, but I think it's a real solid, albeit subtle fragrance.
I remember how much hate the Spicebomb Night Vision EDT got when it came out. Now, there are a lot of fans. I wonder if this won't have the same development. In 3-4 years, it could very well have a nice number of fans who enjoy wearing it and love it. The performance might be an issue though, i don't know... Weird the V&R would release a fragrance with such a disappointing performance. Yes, there is a time and a place for it, but i don't think most people buy a bunch of fragrances to match every occasion. For the vast majority, this will be a big let down, and it could hurt the V&R brand in the long run. ❤❤👏🏼👏🏼
This is a definitive review for this fragrance, and I really appreciate it! Maybe I was too hyped for it to begin with. I may even pick it up eventually for the collection but I will reach for Infrared EDP, original edt and Extreme 9 times out of 10! Appreciate the in depth review! Love to hear your thoughts on Eau D'ombre leather next!
Appreciate the straightforward review, and the transparency on the performance. Or lack there of. I am a fan of the Spicebomb line and still will give this a shot with a sample but maybe from how it is being described it's looking like a pass for me. The adjectives of soft, intimate date night scent, sits close to the skin aren't really what come to mind when I hear Spicebomb. I think of Attention grabbing, Spicy-Oriental, strong scents for the Cooler weather months. I already have Infrared EDP and that seems to be situationally used in the same occasions but better, and I guess you could say the same for people who own Man In Black. I do think this was kind of a missed opportunity for V&R as they could have done a Spicebomb Blue Fragrance, or a Tropical Passionfruit/Pineapple Spicebomb.. something different for them and would have been out for the tail end of Northern hemisphere Summer and been an absolute HYPE monster. Oh well maybe they will do one of those next year!
Wondering if Victor and Rolf have other lines they could of released this under , I’m thinking I would be in the majority thinking that the “Spicebomb” line wouldn’t be where to look for a “date night” fragrance, but it gives them an excuse to start working on the EDP flanker 👍🏻
Now that I understand this fragrance's purpose in my collection, I'm not as disappointed Ross. I can use it and it smells great. I still think a Spicebomb should be stronger based on their history.
Have you gotten your nose on the yom and layl brand? Im starting to hear some buzz and wondering where your nose is on this one from someone i respect and has a great reputation in the fragrance space
I am torn on this one, I don't need a beast I am past that phase of my fragrance journey. It does smell amazing it really does, the projection for me is just terrible, I can hardly detect it after a bit and me being able to smell it is most important to me, idc about compliments. I feel like it should have just been in a new line and people wouldn't be crapping on it as bad, it's because it's in the spicebomb line so it's a let down as far as performance goes. Great review couldn't agree more
I have yet to smell this one..I don't mind mild performance. 4-6 hours . Reapply. I love the Night Vision perfume.. it doesn't seem to last that long as well but mid-day I just give it another 3 sprays and were back in business. Night vision is actually my scent of the day. I really enjoy the freshness of it but I feel they should be put under a different name than spicebomb.
I havent watched till the end, writing as watching. I know u aint into mixing fragrances but this one sound it would mix amazingly with extreme flanker
Besides the leaking issues, SB atomizers are almost satisfying to press and the distribution is also really nice. I'm one of few who loved Dark Leather first sniff, so I have no issues with it myself, I think it'll be even better once prices start to lower.
I'm really sick and tired of these perfume makers. It really doesn't occur to me that the quality of everything that is bought today is catastrophic! Why is it a fu*king problem to add a little oil that will keep the strength of the perfume? I understand marketing, if you put more perfume, the faster you will use up the bottle and buy a new one. Well, I'm not going to buy a new one. That's one of the reasons I'm moving on and exploring other perfumes. Sauvage Elixir is worth every penny, because it is strong and constant, if it is expensive - so be it. At least we have quality. But to buy a very expensive perfume, to make it last for 2 hours and pay for it over $100, no thanks and NEVER again. In that case, I want all companies to go bankrupt, because they are greedy. If I pay dearly, give me the quality, the end!

They need to release an “extreme” version of this. Does smell amazing, it just needs MORE of it
I definitely loved Infrared EDP more. That one is bottle worthy.

Nice review Ross I can’t wait to the fall I might get the Spice bomb dark leather sotd missoni wave 👍💯
I’ve been looking forward to this review as soon as I heard it was coming out 🔥

Maybe it needs some time to macerate and age. That's how it was with the og and infrared edt.
Tbh I liked the EDT myself, but I did give it away to my father when I got the EDP...idk...EDP had a little something that the EDT didn't.
Night Vision EDP is my favorite in the line

Great review and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try it and have a blessed day
So excited to get mine in!
The murdered-out grenade is slick. Scent wise it doesn't sound like a must-have. Once it hits discounters, I'll prolly pick up a bottle. 🍻

La Nuit L'Intense is a GOATED Iris fragrance
Let me know when dark leather intense comes out.

Great job Ross
Markus with a k checking in
You reminded me of that one meme "mark with a C" a dude at Starbucks posted, and they put "Cark" on the cup

“Five hours is a long night for us” oh boy did I ever feel that.
This smells like a lighter version of Ferragamo Spicy Leather, nice but thats it... Longevity is better than 4/5h, it just does not project a lot..
Nice bottle for real. But smell more important unfortunately it's not the banger we wanted
❤❤
When you putting out the new AQUA!?!?
I discussed it in a livestream several weeks ago. There isn't going to be another video
@@TLTGReviews sad day. I will go search!
Also love your videos!
Appreciate you 🫡
Is it close to Gucci guilty absolute?
No it is not. Completely different leather fragrances
@@TLTGReviewsOk thanks
I know you've always advocated scent over performance. So the fact that you think it has performance issues really says something
SWY leather is better if you can get your hands on it.
I know. I praise it often. Welcome to the channel. Please subscribe and checkout more content

Amen…..and totally agree with your opinion of Sauvage Elixir. 💯
