Nice setup. You should do frequent red food coloring tests as moving the berkey filter on the go would be reason for the filter to flex back and forth. I have a larger berkey water system and I see how loose your filter ism as its moving around inside the water reservoir. Mine had to be pretty tight to not allow contaminated water seeping through where the plastic nut and rubber washer are.
Oh, I do red food coloring tests. Only had one fail and it was just that the filter loosened a bit as u mentioned, once I tightened, red food coloring test passed again. 🙂

We are using Big Berkey at home but I just bought Go Berkey for our upcoming camping trip and was a little bit afraid of breaking black filter stem when transporting it from one campground to another. The bag you use looks like a perfect solution. Unfortunately the metal cap is no longer available so I'll have to find some other solution for extra protection of the filter stem. Could you post the size of the cup - diameter and height?
excellent creativity in putting these items together! its as if the nesting cup and the maxpedition bag were designed specifically for the go berkey. i think berkey should hire you as a consultant. for my situation travel berkey works better then go berkey in the rv as i have a spot already picked out and hope to purchase one soon... also have the larger 5 gallon berkey on well water for least 15 years. great product. enjoyed the video!

I found the cup in a local Academy store. The bag was delivered today and all together it fits perfectly. I wish Berkey Go would come in the set like this, even instead of the plastic sport bottle. The only bad thing about the bag (for me) is that it has teflon coating. I am trying to get out of plastic and teflon and do not appreciate it being built into the bag. I don't have time right now to shop for another solution but will look for something else when I come back from my camping trip. Other than that the bag is perfectly padded and very well built. The extra strap would be nice but the price did not justify what I would be buying. If I won't find any other bag I will at least buy an extra strap, just cheaper than the original one.

It fits a bit tighter in the bag than the gsi though that is why I don't normally recommend it. Please let me know how you like the setup once you get the Go Berkey. I like mine so much I have made 3 other kits with minor changes. May do an updated video on them soon.
Hi Dan, great question and one I considered with the use of the GoBerkey. Since I am using municipal water, I am not too concerned about cross contamination. However, if I did consider the water to be unsafe or suspicious, my thought is that I would run water through the filter as normal, into the lower clean water chamber and clean it out with the clean filtered water then discard that water. From there, the lower chamber would be clean again, void of any contamination that may have occurred.

Other than contaminating the lower chamber of your Berkey with your dirty water cup, that's a pretty neat system

Hi, with everything in the bottle case, there is no room between the nesting cup and the lid. It fits comfortably, not tight, but no extra room.
