I’m looking for a solution to fit my needs. How about a main controller module that’s waterproof! Everything else is waterproof for the most part on this wheelchair. The actuators the motors the joystick almost all of the connector plugs etc. etc. everything but the most expensive main control unit. Why is this?!

@@PermobilCorporation I asked a question and I expect a reply to the question instead of being ignored. That’s the main problem with Permobil their communication and feedback system is whack. And that’s why all their wheelchairs are horrible. Every person I talk to that’s in a Permobil hates it and can’t wait to get there next wheelchair. So go ahead and thank me for this just like you do every single comment that people make about your company which of course is automated which means nobody ever reads this stuff. I can’t wait for you guys to go bankrupt.

@@spaceminers Hi! I'm sorry you feel that way. Most of the comments we post are written by fantastic people that work in our extensive social media team. My name is Patrik, the head of Group Social Media at Permobil, and a powerchair user myself. Nice to meet you! A few of our comments are indeed automated, and that could be for a multitude of reasons. To answer your question, the controller modules are water proof tested for rain and light water exposure such as splashes. More severe water exposure is a greater challenge to insulate against effectively, but this something we are constantly working on improving further. I hope this answers your question. Regards, Patrik.

@@PermobilCorporation no it doesn’t because I looked at the main controller myself and whether intentional or just by plain ignorance the cables feed in to the top of the box the lid on the top of the box is wide open and has no weatherproofing whatsoever water follows the cables straight into the top of the box bypassing all the waterproofing of the cables and connectors. If this box was upside down the cables would have to have a slight loop and this is where the water would drip off instead of dripping into the box. Your company needs to issue a recall and take care of it themselves instead of forcing me and my insurance company to cover the cost. It’s not my fault you guys don’t know how to design stuff waterproof. I’ve seen plenty of various brand wheelchair controllers modules joysticks cables yada yada yada Everything is super weather proof and waterproof except for yours! I would like to know your yearly sales and profit off replacement parts alone. It would be wise of your company to issue the recall. By not issuing a recall and not handling the situation and not being a responsible organization You are cheating your customers. And it’s not how I feel it’s the law. And there’s plenty of places I can contact and complain about this. You should be happy that I found a flaw in your company should fix it for free at least for me and anyone else that finds it until you can do a recall. I was drowning this chair and water it was the very first time I cleaned it. I’ve had two electric wheelchairs before my Permobil add never ever ever had a problem washing them or traversing through the rain. I also highly suggest that instead of the technician at national seating and mobility repairing it back to the way it was I would like it 100% completely waterproof main controller before it sent back to me.
