      I sew in steps these days. It's too exhausting to do 3-5 hrs at one time. Pin the fabric, then cut. Put aside. Come back later or the next day to trace markings and do tailor tacks. Come back later and start sewing. 😅

I also like the Simplicity version of the Toaster Sweater (S8529) unfortunately OOP - I've made three. McCall's 8456 is sitting next to me right now as I decide what to make next. Your new sweater looks very pretty on you - glad you are enjoying it!

      If not the first time, you’ll get faster each time. I’ve also found that once you know something fits, choose 3 fabrics that can use the same thread and assembly line them. I found it takes about 6 hours to make my husband 1 cowboy shirt, but only 8 hours to make 3.

    Wow Tea, nothing takes me 2 hours to sew. I am soooo slow because hate unpicking....

    • @crumpetsteaandsewing
      @crumpetsteaandsewing  4 месяца назад +1

      I definitely understand that! And that's a great habit to have! Being slow means being cautious. I love it! My main goal with posting these types of videos is to encourage sewists to sew easy patterns they are comfortable sewing, with the limited time they have. I don't count prep work as part of the "sewing" experience for easy patterns. 2 hour sews are, for me, patterns that don't take a lot of time at the sewing machine. I love sewing these types of patterns, especially when I don't feel as motivated to sew. But I also realize that prep work can be just as tedious. So, with patterns like these mentioned in the video, we aren't spending a great deal of time cutting out 15 or more pattern pieces. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me. Hope you don't mind me sharing my thoughts with you. Happy sewing, my friend!
