    Rm30k to rm40k nett monthly income would be ideal income to comfortably afford it. Whoever going to go for this goal. All the best! Nothing is impossible, just make sure you have the right mentality and perseverance to strive this goal. Not easy, but possible….Thomas also have to grind thru up and downs… all of us do… just stay focus….

      100%! Yes nothing is impossible - got to adapt that mindset and be open to see what you can do out there!

      That's wise bro. Always use the Nett income rather than the gross income for depreciating cars.

    Thanx Thomas. Good video. I can feel the honesty you have within you to encourage people with similar interest to eventually get the 718. I hope my day will come. 🙂

    I'm not sure if this is useful. I bought a used 2018 718 Boxster (20k milage) half a year ago. Here is a quote I got from the workshop showing that the part has a sign of ageing and tearing. The engine is in very good condition.
    Front absorber + absorber mounting + absorber cover + absorber bush + absorber bearing = RM14, 400.00
    Rear absorber + absorber mounting + absorber cover + absorber bush + absorber bearing = RM11, 500.00
    Battery (80 AH Varta brand) = RM1500.00
    Front Brake Disc + Pad + Sensor = RM6,700.00
    Rear Brake Disc + Pad + Sensor = RM5,800.00
    Waterpump = RM4,000.00
    Pirelli tyre PZ4N1 (235/35R20) - RM1200 x 2pcs
    Pirelli tyre PZ4N1 (265/35R20) - RM1400 x 2pcs

      *The price is quoted as the original Porsche part. OEM can be 20-30% cheaper, as I was told.
      And a normal oil change service is about RM1.2k.

      Update: Just got my PDK (Transmission) oil change.
      Transmission fluild (Porsche brand Ori) - RM1,820.00
      Transmission filter with oil pan (Ori) - RM2,300.00

    Thank you so much Thomas. Very informative and I’m thinking of getting the 718 as my 3rd car. With this clear information I think I’m halfway there and hope to get one in the next 2 years. Will skip the boxster as I already have a convertible. But you’re right, nothing beats the feeling of a convertible. Cheers mate

    Will rent/ lease for a month or 3 to experience it. No headaches. To own one, i would really need to be a biz owner or have a nice passive income to pay for it.

    good video. It does give me some confidence to owning one😂. However my existing formula is , if my annual income equal or more than the otr price of that car, than only consider it.

    Very good advice for newbies who want to buy sports car in the future. For me I personally want to buy car by cash, if I want to buy a RM300k car I’ll make sure I earn RM600k every year, 5 years loan is maximum I can go, taking 7 or 9 years loan is not recommended

    hey thomas, what would be a good annual maintenance budget for 981 ?

  • @155stw
    @155stw 8 месяцев назад

    My friend has a cayman, but maintenance isn’t that cheap. Solid car. I got a 2015 Alfa 4C. Maintenance is damn cheap. 8 year old car, almost nothing has gone wrong. Ya interior like Kancil….But with just a re flash, it can roast a lot of other higher power cars. Road tax for 1.7 and…34 mpg (US gallons). Can’t beat it for value for money.

    Thomas I really hard to think how to make money out there (significant amount) instead of monthly salary. Can u advise? I assume “unlimited” term is so cringe and lies..

    • @ThomasYap
      @ThomasYap  10 месяцев назад +1

      There’s so many opportunities out there. Don’t think about it. Spend time to explore. Explore different industries, different investment methods. Listen to podcasts of people who have accumulated wealth through different ways.
      Expose yourself to these first. Have an open mind and be curious. It doesn’t cost much to explore. But it opens a whole new world.
      It is cringe at first because it’s not your current reality. In the band of successful entrepreneurs and investors, unlimited is a common thing.
      All the best in your exploration.

    • @scteoh4855
      @scteoh4855 10 месяцев назад

      Tbh 114k d/p is not much but i can imagine how much one has to pay the monthly instalment if the car is 400-500k lol... I never watch the vid, understood they are merely made for info purpose but i find paying astronomical monthly commitments mind boggling.

  • @abdulhaneesabdulwahab6437

    114k is a sizeable capital. To lost its potential as downpayment seems a bummer. But you can’t get any younger right? 😂

    • @ThomasYap
      @ThomasYap  4 месяца назад +1

      Depends on what you can take bro. I always prefer second hand as I don't want to tank the depreciation - but may not get the exact spec I want.

      @@ThomasYap I'm not sure if its just me, second hand looks old whereas the newer ones have better interior. Still thinking between 718 or the Mercedez CLA coupe

    It's not wise to take a loan for your car; save money and buy something you can afford in cash.

    • @ThomasYap
      @ThomasYap  10 месяцев назад +1

      Loan is a tool. Really depends how you use it. If people abuse it, of course they will suffer.
      But use it well - it opens up a lot of possibilities
