the funny thing is, shrek is actually pretty charismatic when he's given the chance - he's plenty intimidating, and often prefers to intimidate instead of fighting, plus he gets a whole crowd on his side in the duloc tournament and charms his way into the fairy godmother's factory. my guy really does have layers.
Let's be fair, he could've rolled a 2 on that Duloc Performance check. People needed cue cards so they wouldn't embarrass their 'king.' The town was so square a wagon wheel would've spread shock and awe.
When does donkey do anything that would actually cause him to level up. Fiona's whole backstory reads like a harlequin romance maybe the dragon just had baby rabies. Aside from that his only skils are charming shrek and possibly foraging/cooking. Being thrown around like a ragdoll doesn't count as a skill, well apart from feather fall.
I made a Shrek build one time and he was a 17th Berserker Barbarian who had 3 levels in Beast Master Ranger. The three levels in Ranger gave him donkey as a companion, and some nature spells. I also flavored the Intimating Presence has his roar. I also had him take Tavern Brawler so he could be proficient with punches and improvised weapons. Ithought I was gonna have the same build as Tulok, guess not.
Yeah your right, and Donkey will also be a Ranger with an animal companion, which will either be his wife, Puss in Boots, or Eddie Murphy. I can’t tell yet.

I would have given shrek the magic initiate feat to give him poison spray for his "stink" but, I honestly think this is quite good as well! Could possibly be better, as it is more powerful stench. But, you miss out on the top level barb, but honestly, this is genuinely awesome.

One dude that just has to be done is Sir Daniel Fortesque from MediEvil - it's time the jawless arrow magnet got recognized. Step 1. Must be good with *Any* weapon - in the first game, he gets access to knives, swords, axes, bows, crossbows, javelins, and then in the second game, he gets to use guns - pistol, blunderbuss, portable Gatling gun and even grenado-like bombs. Step 2. Must be able to use armor - in the first game, he gets access to a type of Dragon armor that is not only resistant to flames, it lets him use a flame breath attack. In the second, he eventually gets this Gold armor that's rather durable. Also, let's not forget shields - uses them more than a bit for defense, and he has a Dash ability that involves him charging with his shield out in front. Step 3. Must be dead. Thankfully, Wildemount has us covered with the Hollow One template - playable undead. Gets the ability to come back when one rolls a 16 or better on a death saving throw - explains why he keeps coming back when bad guys "kill" him. Also has the ability to frighten foes bad enough they have disadvantages on their next saving throw - not really in character, but he's not good looking anyways. Step 4. Must be not only quick and nimble, but also as strong as an ox - for a dead guy, Dan has some moves - good at jumping, climbing, and running (dashing). Also, he has to push/pull several heavy objects, and smash others, and let's not forget about all the weapons, and various other items, he's carrying. Also, he must be able to take a blow, a lot of blows. Those life bottles stand for something important after all. Step 5. Must know how to disguise himself, and this deceive others (if barely). In the first remake of the first game, he had to disguise himself as a pirate - it wasn't that good, but it worked enough to get a boat at any rate. In the second game, he had to disguise himself as a gentleman - having a fake beard and a nice hat/suit helped there, and then there's the part where he had to convince the underground Murlocks that he was their god - again, a nice outfit helped. Step 6. Must be reasonable intelligent - Dan has to solve a lot of puzzles to get things done. That being said, he's not that wise - setting shadow demons free isn't exactly a bright idea. Step 7. Must be able to use anything as a weapon - there's been times Dan has had to pop off his left arm as use that to fight off his foes. And speaking of popping things off - if his body can operate independent of its head, be a plus. Step 8. Skills Needed include Acrobatics and Athletics for his physical capabilities, Deception for those disguises to work, and perhaps Investigation and Survival for those various puzzles he has to deal with and the dangerous areas he has to go through. Step 9. Stats - Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution should all be reasonably high - he uses his weapons a lot, and he fights a lot of enemies. Intelligence and Wisdom come next - he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's good enough to get the job done. Dumping Charisma - face it, Dan's a skeleton, and not many are going to be persuaded by this guy (although he should have an advantage on intimidation checks - actually, that's already covered up above), and given the lack of a jaw, he's not going to be singing. Step 10. Class - At the very least, start off as a fighter for all martial and simple weapons, plus all armor and shields, that and being able to heal yourself, and a fighting style is very good. Also, given the number of traps and chests he has to unlock, grabbing a level in rogue might be okay, and then there's the anger issues when the "Love Interest" dies so perhaps a dash of barbarian. Funny enough, in the first game, Dan also gets the ability to heal some summoned allies, and in the second game he must prevent innocent folks from turning into monsters, so upping his wisdom to cross into cleric, or just taking Magic Initiate, to grab Cure Wounds would be a good idea. Overall, an unconventional hero with a somewhat conventionable build.

Must be able to take a blow or two. Guy gets hit a lot. Usually in the head. 4. Must be able to use any weapon, or *anything* as a weapon. I mean, a fork, his feet, his fists, sword, torch, a modified car, chainsaw. 5. Must be good at killing the Deadites. 6. Must be able to make explosives and the like. Building - Variant Human, probably either Folk Hero or Guild Merchant as he works retail. Dexterity should be tops, as he is decently quick - also, the most armor he seems to wear is something like a breastplate. Constitution could be next, so he can take more blows to the head, or Strength for more chainsaw action. Third, has to be intelligence - he built a mechanical hand using 13th-century gauntlets and technology, to say nothing about that car of his. Next, whichever stat wasn't number 2 - strength or constitution. Fifth and Sixth would be wisdom and charisma - both seem to be a toss-up for me, as he doesn't seem to be that wise (couldn't remember that third word), and he's not all that charismatic. For the Feat - I'm saying Tavern Brawler. One of the Classes Ash has to be is Artificer (somewhere in his build at any rate) due to his mechanical arm, which he made. On the plus side, a breastplate armor is good for this class, and he gets Firearm proficiency (talk to DM to allow the Boomstick - the shotgun.) Another possible class to throw into the mix, thanks to the free point from Tavern Brawler, if it's placed on Strength, making it at least 13 - Barbarian - Ash gets angry a lot. It would give him, a the very least, an Unarmored Defense of 15 at any rate, possibly higher.

I would multiclass into ranger hunter to be a master of YOUR Swamp and to punch mobs left and right with Horde breaker. Thunderwave also is a viable choice with UA class variants, so Shrek can still roar like a boss
Absolutely yes you should be able to use strength or Cha for intimidation. That was a 3.5 rule. My DM ruled my halfling assassin could also only get half proficiency bonus on intimidation because of his size. I protested, because imagine waking up, bound, with Chucky sitting on your chest with a sword at your throat.
I would say Hunter Ranger (you could do beast master ranger if you want a bird or dog like two of the predator from 2010 Predators) mixed with wizard. I would say Evocation if you want to lean into the bombs and plasma caster or illusion if you want the invisibilty to be top notch. For race I would do a lizard folk, the Yautja are very reptilian, like to hunt and like doing things with bones so that's what I would use, skulker feat probably to get past the half cover of a forest
So one home brew I do is I make the resistance spell take a bonus action to cast rather than an action, and it is none concentration if it wasn't already I also do the same thing with the guidance cantrip as the point is to make them a bit more combat viable so your barbarian can use the resistance cantrip to shore up his wisdom saving throws.
How to play Qrow from RWBY. Weapon(s): Greatsword/Scythe/War Scythe/Tonfa, and powerful buckshot Gun that is better described as a hand cannon. Aura: Minor healing, natural armor, ability to detect, track, and kill Grimm before Team RNJR (especially Ren) even sense them. Semblance: Bad Luck. Most often seen messing with terrain, likely machinery, maybe throws off opponents attacks. Additional ability: Crow transformation.
For a bit mor extra power gaming, you may take 2 additional leves of fighter, an action surge and the champion subclass for double critt chance is higher average damage than the 2 levels barbarian.
Syndrome I think would be 20 levels of human artificer since all his cool stuff can be boiled down into “I invented this”. He doesn’t even do his own deception, instead making his (implied) girlfriend do it for him. Doom would be interesting to see how much balance of Artificer and Wizard he has, since officially he’s just behind Strange as a magic user and just behind Richards as a Scientist. Ryu would be similar to Chun Li, but with enough difference in fighting style that nobody would believe 1:1 ratio on their builds. I know this might be a bit too broad, and it could probably encompass multiple builds, but just what do you think a Digidestined build could look like? In particular, there are 2 build types, minimum, a Digidestined could. 1, the classic Digidestined that has a partner Digimon that gains power as their bond grows but usually shows itself when threats seriously escalate. The other build type is the Digimon Frontier approach, you don't have a partner Digimon because your symbol of being a chosen human allows you to turn into the Digimon, you just have to make sure to collect all the spirits to store in the device so that will allow you to transform into said monsters.

Shrek is a great small party campaign.

I would multiclass into ranger hunter to be a master of YOUR Swamp and to punch mobs left and right with Horde breaker. Thunderwave also is a viable choice with UA class variants, so Shrek can still roar like a boss

Absolutely yes you should be able to use strength or Cha for intimidation. That was a 3.5 rule.
My DM ruled my halfling assassin could also only get half proficiency bonus on intimidation because of his size. I protested, because imagine waking up, bound, with Chucky sitting on your chest with a sword at your throat.

I would say Hunter Ranger (you could do beast master ranger if you want a bird or dog like two of the predator from 2010 Predators) mixed with wizard. I would say Evocation if you want to lean into the bombs and plasma caster or illusion if you want the invisibilty to be top notch. For race I would do a lizard folk, the Yautja are very reptilian, like to hunt and like doing things with bones so that's what I would use, skulker feat probably to get past the half cover of a forest

My first go as a DM will be running Dragon of Icespire Peak for my friends. They’re playing a centaur bard and an orc barbarian
Rakdos Cultist gets acrobatics and performance. And the bonus is called fearsome reputation too. So, I guess Shrek is in a cult.
So one home brew I do is I make the resistance spell take a bonus action to cast rather than an action, and it is none concentration if it wasn't already I also do the same thing with the guidance cantrip as the point is to make them a bit more combat viable so your barbarian can use the resistance cantrip to shore up his wisdom saving throws.
Technically the 'being on your own thing' was also a part of the original Chris Farley Cut IIRC

How to play Qrow from RWBY.
Weapon(s): Greatsword/Scythe/War Scythe/Tonfa, and powerful buckshot Gun that is better described as a hand cannon.
Aura: Minor healing, natural armor, ability to detect, track, and kill Grimm before Team RNJR (especially Ren) even sense them.
Semblance: Bad Luck. Most often seen messing with terrain, likely machinery, maybe throws off opponents attacks.

For a bit mor extra power gaming, you may take 2 additional leves of fighter, an action surge and the champion subclass for double critt chance is higher average damage than the 2 levels barbarian.
Syndrome I think would be 20 levels of human artificer since all his cool stuff can be boiled down into “I invented this”. He doesn’t even do his own deception, instead making his (implied) girlfriend do it for him.
Doom would be interesting to see how much balance of Artificer and Wizard he has, since officially he’s just behind Strange as a magic user and just behind Richards as a Scientist.
Ryu would be similar to Chun Li, but with enough difference in fighting style that nobody would believe 1:1 ratio on their builds.

I know this might be a bit too broad, and it could probably encompass multiple builds, but just what do you think a Digidestined build could look like? In particular, there are 2 build types, minimum, a Digidestined could. 1, the classic Digidestined that has a partner Digimon that gains power as their bond grows but usually shows itself when threats seriously escalate. The other build type is the Digimon Frontier approach, you don't have a partner Digimon because your symbol of being a chosen human allows you to turn into the Digimon, you just have to make sure to collect all the spirits to store in the device so that will allow you to transform into said monsters.
