Hahaha the screams were making me smile too at the time! Thanks bud, I think the ultimate sass was thumbs up to the marshal holding the black flag for drifting… whilst mid slide 😂🤦♂️.
Sorry to hear bud, sadly we've lost a few project cars through others crashing into them too! A week after I put an imported B18C-R engine in my EK Civic it was written off by another driver. Wasn't just the financial loss.. was ALL the hours we had put in :(. Hope you've sorted a suitable replacement?
@@CIRCUITDRIVERCARS I'm in an NC now, took inspiration from your series hah. I may be looking into an EG/EK civic later in the year however. Need to scratch that itch.
@@TheRyanl164 Ah wow! That's brilliant! I wont lie... I was looking for an ITB NC when I stumbled on this NB to be very honest. NC's are just that little bit more refined and easier to live with aren't they. EG/EKs are utterly fantastic, such a shame so many are now insane money!! Glad I scratched that itch back when an integra R was a couple a grand lol!
The little shrieks of excitement while drifting lol. Been looking forward to your vids, hopefully a few more are on the way with all the other cars you guys have.
Haha, was the first time she'd been out in the little Mazda on track. Safe to say she was a fan! Thanks for the kind words Jamal! We are itching for some more regular seat time in all the toys throughout 2024 and have great plans for them. Last year, like so many, we found ourselves focusing elsewhere as this hobby is so damn costly!
Interrested in how you like the NS2Rs in the wet and if you could compare it to other options. The context of the question is a DOT approved rain tyre for endurance racing
They behaved pretty damn reasonably once you got some heat in them but I’m only just revisiting track driving after over a year away from it so I can’t give much real advice on how they compare sorry! I guess it would be balancing grip vs wear characteristics??
Haha!! Not a clue... the only real way I could stop the slides was to slow down 😅... and getting told to slow down on a track day would be pretty damn comical. 🤣
I got kicked off Castle Combe in my BMW 330d Compact in the rain... even with the traction control on I was sliding when braking and got told to get off track and because I argued the situation I was told to leave... I had a better drive home that day than on track lol
@@mikeypv6 Bahahhaa I can just imagine it! Oh mate I've tried to master the art of 'playing dumb' and 'deeply apologetic' when getting my telling off for track limits and drifting haha! Playing dumb comes easy to me though ahah!
Really nice spec that! Who built the engine? Inspiring stuff! My nb is nearly back together after the worlds longest suspension rebuild, stripped, blasted powder coated, new bjs, extended lowers, superpros, also installing brakes cooling duct, poly diff bushings and engine mounts, and other shit ive forgotten. I have a set of silver 4age itbs so when I can finally stomach another project ill be looking to put those on. Its taken me so long im not going to be able to remember how good/shit it drove before i took it apart lol.
Ahh mate! These projects can consume and take much more time and money away than we ever first imagine can’t they! I was lucky enough to buy this car pretty much exactly how it stands now. The previous owner having built the engine and doing a fantastic job with the car. Engine spec is absolutely fantastic isnt it! I just had to jump on it instantly. We knew how amazing and ITBd mx5 is so was a no brainer… driving at its absolute purist! Can’t wait for more seat time! Hope you get yours sorted for summer… it’ll be worth it!
@CIRCUITDRIVERCARS haha yeah cheers man, thanks fornyhr kind words. Yeah it'll be back on the road this summe for sure. Yeah we had our first kid in the middle of it so that's been a fun stall. Ha. That's a pretty sweet buy then! I remember you saying how much you loved the red itb na you had. Did you sell the turbo car in the end? Hopefully see you out there at Blyton or Olton or wherever.
@@nehok Ahh amazing bud, they make life so interesting again... best times taking my little girl out in the NC mx5! I had the MK Indy kit car, Turbo mk1 and the Porsche but had sold everything but the Porsche about a year ago now. Took a year off track days etc and have only just recently bought this little mk2 to start getting some more regular track days in. Feel good for having a year away from it to be honest! Hope to see you at a TD soon too!
Thanks bud, It's not making the power it should just yet. Currently making 185hp but certainly capable of 200+! We will be doing a series on it delving into optimising the ITB setup and tune.
Thanks Jacob! The motorbike ITB kits look a belting option too! I know on Matt's red mk1 they were spot on! I use a RAM mount which attaches with a jubilee clip. Pretty expensive for what it is tbh.. but works. Our gopro died so that was actually filmed on my iphone lol!
Hey Bud, This was bought to fill the hole the mk1 turbo mx5 I had left. Matt has the BBR225 NC still👍. Hoping to get them both out together over summer
Thanks Phil! It's absolutley terrific fun. Good to hear from you, hope your turbo mx5 is seeing you well? Will be uploading a little walk around vid with more track footage in soon :).
Currently 180hp bud but far from optimised. I will be doing a little video series on the process of extracting more potential from this set up over the next 6 months or so :).
@@Clubman99 Ahhh crap! Surely by the end of the day you'll need new arches and chassis rails if it snows and they grit the track haha! Have a gooden dude.
I get it if your purposely drifting but you can clearly see that's just the edge of grip on a wet track when pushing and your trying to straighten up without lifting
Absolutley bud! and trying to correct it from happening at all is just going to end sooooo badly haha! There were a few times where you just have to keep the power down to widen the corner back up after it had over rotated. Was such a brilliant day :)!
resist the temptation to drift killed me😂😂😂
Hahhaa there is NO resisting!!!
Can’t beat ITBs for noise at all. Looks like some good slidey fun 👌🏻 the little scream of excitement mid drift made me giggle 😂
Also kinda BS getting black flagged, it was all very controlled and not like you were fully initiating it. Just covering their arses at a guess.
