  • It's my second trip to Kanuga and having ridden most of the trails there I've settled on my favorite so far. Hemploch Epoch is a black trail loaded with features to shred. If you haven't already, check out what it's like to ride it!

Saw you at the jumps behind the shop in the morning. My son and I were hitting those for the first time after two full days of riding at Kanuga before we headed out of town. Hemlock Epoch is a great trail, but very speed dependent to get the most fun out of it. We liked the finished upper portion of Deadwood a lot. It felt like a proper roller coaster ride, especially the step up. Accidentally followed a local and my son down GNCC for the first time (also a fun rip) with my shock’s climb switch on. I thought it felt a little rougher than it should…..50 year old brain cells can’t be trusted to properly manage a climb switch.

Watched your other videos on handlebars and Revgrips and read many of the comments - I see you switched back to the Oneup Carbon bars and using Revgrip combo. So whats the verdict ? Im 52 and been riding with my son for about 3 months and we hit the trails hard - have some hand and shoulder aches afterwards.. Have 23 Spec EVO Carbon comp and uisng PNW Loam XL grips with 30mm rise Specialized stout bar cut to 760mm. Was looking at the Oneup carbon bar and Rev grip combo... any issues with using this combination ? since you used the revgrips before - did you notice any more comfort with adding the oneup carbon ? Oneup just released an aluminum version of the handlebar marketing the same benefits - any ide if this would be a better route and save the $70 ... appreciate any feedback, thumbs up

I am loving this combo. Interested to see how compliant the AL version is. I’d say the first thing to tackle before switching components is to find your correct positioning for your cockpit. Find out the backsweep angle and bar width for your riding position. @joyofbike has great videos on this. Once you have that then you dial in riser height and stem length.
It’s a crazy process but it took me a while. The OneUp is not perfect. I wish it had a steeper backsweep like the PNW. The SQLab was great for that but the compliance wasn’t great, it’s a pretty stiff bar. I still have the PNW on my enduro bike with the rev grips. So I haven’t settled on anything that perfect just yet which is why I haven’t followed up with another video just yet. 😉
