Been binge watching all your videos, the are really well made, funny and educational at the same time. My story is this, I have a Brazilian college that have done this trip way back and 2-3 months ago he showed me some pictures of the nature/Trip and it was amazing. its been a while since i gone out of my comfort-zone, maybe around 2017-2018. But been yearning to do something crazy, so I have started planning to do the common Camino Frances around mid july-aug this year. Have looked around to get as much information as possible and i must say you have covered the majority of my doubts and questions. Keep up the work Ricky!
thanks a lot for this great feedback! I put lots of love to my videos and I can see they are helpful :) I hope that your trip will smooth and full of learning! keep connected for more vid, hugs
How wonderful to see Brigitte on here. We lost touch after Leon. I hope she comes on to your channel and sees how wonderful she looks. This was such a fun video. You should make more of them like this. We want to see what everyone has in their bag.
Hi Ricky, thanks for your video.
I wonder is it possible to do the camino with no bag, just a few essentials in a jacket pocket? carrying all that stuff puts me off but I love walking and would be happy to buy new pants/socks/whatever along the way
Are the prices in the hiking supply shops along the Camino Frances route for hiking gear and clothing similar to Amazon prices or much higher as the pilgrims walking are a “captured market” and have limited choices. Also, do these shops sell quality stuff.
They are obviously a bit higher but its not a crazy difference! And you can always go to "decathlon" which is a sports supermarket nearly available in every bigger place.
@@caminotellers Thanks for the prompt reply. Love your videos and the great information you share. 75 and getting ready to try this in the late summer when it is cooler.
Number one in my bag is BIBLE AND NOTE BOOK FOR WRITING DOWN DREAMS AND VISSIONS FROM GOD and book THE ART OF PRAYING THE SCRIPTURES:) I am going camino French on 29 June ;) in couple weeks!
Your point of having too much stuff, both on the walk and in life in general, is well made. How much stuff, and weight, did you start with to have 5.3kg of excess "stuff"?
@@caminotellers I think many of us suffer from those aspirations, until we start to carry them on our back. We then quickly revert to our more simple, and less heavy, ways. As I'm sure you have been told already, what you produce for YT as a "pilgrim" (a euphemism for"not a professional videographer") is very good and, even more important, very helpful to others. Thank you for your great work.
Hi Rick, I enjoyed binge watching your 2022 playlist. They are very inspiring. Maybe I do a camino myself, but I first need some training... I tried to buy you some coffees, but the only way to do so is by credit card, which I never use anymore on the web since I was scammed one day. Since then I only use PayPal or my banking app.... Sorry for that...
Thanks a lot! Sometimes good words and the intentions are worth more then money! I hope you can do it, if it is your dream, and if so, let me know if you have any doubts :) hugs
@@caminotellers Some 15 years ago I bought a guide which made me dreaming indeed. But job, kids and wife didn't give me the opportunity to do it. @@manuquickie one doest have to be insanely fit to walk Camino, but rather one has to be convinced to walk daily(which is already a challenge) The distances are to be arranged by ones posibilities, so there are no excuses ;) I keep my fingers crossed for you and your Camino :)
@@caminotellers walking dayly for an hour of two is indeed a challenge as I'm too tired when I come home from work. On my free days I try to do a 2-3 hour walk. It seems to me sometimes you have to walk 30 km to find a place to eat and sleep, at least at the camino to the north. I watched them because it was pouring yesterday ⛈️☔🤧
