Buying fewer keys doesn’t actually save gold, though. If you get 30 encryptions per day, and you buy 30 keys day 1 but also obtain 5 keys while opening, you don’t waste those 5 keys. That’s just 5 fewer key you need to buy the next day. They don’t expire
So, here's the problem. 1) Keys. It is generally always worth it to buy the 30 cheap key pr. day. Even if you don't do fractals at all. You can buy the encryptions on the TP and then open them and make a small profit. The profit is naturally a lot better if you also do fracs and get the encryptions from there. Anyone who do all T4's pr. day (+cm's) will have extra encryptions, so the price of the unopened encryptions are always low enough that its worth opening them (at least so far). 2) At least atm. it is NOT worth it to attune rings before salvaging them. The reason is that attuning only give you 1 extra dice roll. And the dice can only give you 1 or 2 Stabilizing Matrices. The base ring in it self however give 1 dice roll of 1-20 Stabilizing Matrices. Infusing the ring IS worth it (as long as you have dropped the mats to infuse it for free, else not). An infused ring give you 1 extra dice roll of 1-20 Stabilizing Matrices. It is worth noting that the averages are different on the dice. It is also worth noting that it (at least atm.) is worth it to salvage even none infused/attuned rings, even if you have to buy the salvage tool (for 1 gold pr. use). Its not a huge profit, but its worth it
as someone already mentioned, keys dont expire so even if you buy all 30 and you have left overs youll just buy less the next day... On another note though, you SHOULD buy 30 keys a day for the minimal amount, why? because buying the keys for minimal price and buying the encryption from the trading post would actually give you some profit back, but only if you buy the minimal cost daily 30. once you get about 200 extra keys you would actually make a decent gold amount back from buying 200 encryption and using 200 minimal cost keys. Is it really worth it? no, but just saying how flawed the math is in this video. as for the second method, it's fine but honestly you are selling your spirit shards short for doing it, since 200 spirit shards give you aprox 1k gold when crafting a gen3 weapon, but if you are not interested in crafting and selling legendaries, then I guess this is something you could use shards for

What can end up saving you gold is if you stockpile the keys and don't have to buy the more expensive ones later.
