Maechen's scholarlic journey - FFX dialogue compilation (ASMR / sleep ambience)

- These are the lines of NPC 'Maechen' from Final Fantasy X, reworked and edited for best effect. All dialogue has been carefully arranged and complemented with atmospheric ambient sounds and selected, subtle background music that, while non-intrusive, is fitting for the respective context. In short: It's a coherent little story that will hopefully put you at ease!

I’ve waited years for someone to do this, many thanks! His definitive performance, he was too firm and excited in X-2 and that killed the ASMR for me haha. But this is lovely. Maechen is GOAT NPC
Incredible, I swear I thought I was the only one! There was hardly any Maechen ASMR in X-2, I felt the same thing. In X he spoke so pleasantly calmly, about trivial things and seemed as if he was beside himself all the time, in a positive sense. In X-2, this characteristic had changed. Nevertheless, I had to upload that here, too, for the sake of completeness :-)
This man made FFX for me. His talks make the world feel like it's not only alive, but it's been alive. There's true history, figures clashing, working together or fooling one another, the decptions of Yevon that taint the land and it's inhabitants...
And for Maechen, as a historian, feels like it is meaningless for these things to have happened and no one to have learned from it.
Fully agree. He is literally standing beyond and observing recurring patters, yet he never loses hope for a better future. I liked the way he talked in FFX a little bit more than in FFX-2.

I'm currently working on a huge one for Dark Souls. If you have any other ideas, please feel free to share, especially games/NPCs with calming, slow and deep narrations.
@@ObscureGameAmbience I will think on some solid ones, a few RPGs come to mind but I'll stew on it a spell. Also, DS is a solid idea with how their dialogue is usually delivered and rich lore and rad locations.
Having to listen to the whole thing in FFX2 for 100% is one of the biggest crimes in human history.
You mean in comparison to his FFX version? Btw, I gave my very best but never reached 100% 😤
@@ObscureGameAmbience Same, I had the intention of doing it at first but later decided to just move on to a different game and I haven't looked back ever since. I'll likely do it at some point but I do dread it.

Oooo Barclay from Star Trek!!?! I never knew that!! So cool he’s your uncle. He’s an amazing actor, he can play a nervous guy like barclay but then when his character goes to the “holodeck” (like holographic virtual reality video games ) he acts confident and completely different, but still the same guy. Now that I know he was in ffX which I grew up with, my mind is BLOWN
