@thegraynoah That's the same issue with all content as a service games (GT7, Forza, etc). If we're lucky, the devs put out a patch at the end of supporting the game that lets you access all your legacy content after they close the servers. But if we're not lucky, all you have left is the barebones offline mode. The unfortunate reality though is, people still buy CaaS games, and they end up being more profitable over the long term. As long as we keep supporting that business model, it's going to remain a thing.

Not to mention that when the devs decide that hosting the servers isn't profitable any more, you end up losing access to the majority of the game's content.
This is the reason why this game won't have the same community as AC.... This means no classic f1 cars or old classic track variants. No classic le mans cars, no classic DTM and so on...
It is true though, I haven't tried driving fast in a sim for almost 5 years and I went from P23 to P8 in my second race where the AI didn't just punt me out of the way at the first corner

I actually only bought the game once i saw it has the rs3 because i think its the only proper sim that has it. I drive a pre facelift rs3 irl. I havent driven the 8y irl but from what ive seen and know about the car, it should have more oversteer under acceleration or at least the torgue splitter isn't modeled correctly. the rear should be able to lock up fully with the sense of a center diff thats also locked. especially in ungulation sections like the laguna seca corscrew where the wheels lift up, the rear feels like it has a symmetrical awd with open diffs and barely any lock to it. it spins up the engine to redline as soon as one wheel lifts up until it touches donwn again and is not getting power to the rear.
I knew it wasn't going to be very well optimized I knew a lot of the features weren't going to be there but I just think Asseto Corsa has been really good to us throughout the years and I was excited to go ahead and support them.
some AC mods already have the working infotainment system btw, was surprised I could control the song playing on youtube on a second screen from my car in VR
Idk, I had a weird feeling about ksp 2 wich made me wait for the full release. (Kinda waiting again with recent news but high doubts). Don't have it with this one though and thoroughly enjoyed driving on it yesterday
Thanks, Jimmy! Honestly, I REALLY hope that Kunos will pay really close attention to driving slow details, which will be crucial for freeroaming. What I mean is clutch byte point and slow speed physics. I wasn't able to start moving with only clutch without acceleration for example. But it was a pleasure to see Ignition and starter mapping which actually works! :)
If you just lift the clutch with no throttle in most cars they will stall

Those lucky enough to have a motion system most likely feel a significant difference in the road and texture feel. We have detected telemetry streaming to our controller at 500 hz. Also really good nuance and feel when going out of bounds.
I couldn't agree more with everything you said here. This is exactly how I felt about it. For me personally, I regret buying it at the moment, but at only $32, it hurts less. I don't think I will return to this one until the next major update. I just had too many gripes with it to dedicate any time to it.
I bought this game the minute it was available, despite having no intention of playing it until at least the summer. I'm confident in Kunos that it's going to be mega, and I just wanted to put my money where my confidence was.
Thanks for pointing out the weird sliding/drifting mechanics. I spent like half an hour trying to drift with basically no success so it’s nice to know I’m not going completely insane lmao
Quite enjoyed playing it yesterday and as an early access its not too bad. Yes there are a lot of improvements to make and having the mix of road and race cars it nice. Looking forward to them adding licence/academy etc and am sure the online multiplayer will be a huge improvement. Really quite excited about it all.
I‘ll be honest I don’t know if we needed this much of an Early Access. Why not wait till June and start with some more stuff in the game. AC is a very well established brand by now, not an Indie Studio releasing a 0.1 version of their game concept to gain some attention. Now we just sit here like „yeah has potential but everything needs work“. Which is too be expected but I would have preferred a more complete first experience.
@@Airwolf-lm9cm they should have waited, they’re going to be fighting off this negative perception for the next few years. If they had waited and released a marginally more complete product it wouldn’t have been an issue
@@BURN447 agreed. I think people were honestly surprised when they announced Early Access so soon, which should have been a sign to Kunos that they still had plenty of time to brew this before they put it out to the public. This isn't AC1. They don't need to be "testing" the waters like they are with this.
Because when you have an enterprise every week you have bills to pay. Plus smart people that understand alpha release help you kill bugs and find mistakes. I've seen extremely fine contributions and critics from things i've missed. The lighting treatment of the 3d engine is fantastic. The FFB is amazing while it lacks the off pavement feel overall is super informative. What i dont understand is people complaining and be annoying to others on early access, why they think their moaning is important to anyone?
intending to come back to sim racing with this game's release, and obviously that comes along with watching you again, hoping you're holding up well Jimmy 😁
FFB tweak... turn off all the effects in game except for Gain, Speed Sensitivity, and maybe Steering Filter. That will clean up the FFB quite a lot. It will be good, but this is absurdly barebones. The engine Audio is fantastic, something so many Sims/racing titles miss, aside from Dirt Rally 2.0. Quick Race is worthless. Even at 100, AI can barely make it around Bathurst. Which means you're stuck in Practice mode, but you can't even save a ghost. Not a single open wheel car or a single vintage or classic race car kind of sucks. Running a 4080 with boatloads of RAM and my FPS is lucky to hit 90 on ultra and falls in the 40s in a Quick Race with a little bit of rain. That would be acceptable if the graphics were at least on par with iRacing, much less ACC. The driving feels really good in a few cars, and the engine audio is as good as any Sim or game to date, including DR 2.0. The way the cars behave on curbs is as good as any sims to date. There's a good foundation, but what the hell have they been doing? It feels not even close to 25% done. No Look Left/Look Right, infinitely little things that aren't there that should be there from the start
Been having a blast in the MX5s and the GR86 around Laguna Seca. Love that they included both h-pattern and sequential versions of the MX5. UI needs a lot of work though. Took me a bit to figure out how to clear a binding. Game runs pretty good for me @ high 1440p on a RX 6800. I still need to tweak the graphics setting a bit more visual/performance balance.
Even though I'm having trouble calibrating my pedals with the game and having trouble getting stable graphics and FPS (even with a powerful PC), I am in full support of Kunos and this next project. I think they will bring a solid game eventually. People are just freaking out already. The world of "Early Access" has ruined our expectations in gaming.
June! Jumping Jiminy! Edit to add: I mean, the free roam is the biggest point of the game. Isn't it? You'd think they would have that ready to go sooner but I can still appreciate a career type of progression like GT/Forza.
really? felt ok to me although havnt tried to much as vr is cpu bound at the mod while the cpu is under 50% use across all threads but the ffb felt ok and that i just needed to tune it.. didnt feel any true force though but again is probably a bug
"We thank the community for the huge job they did with Assetto Corsa, and we know that part of the franchise’s success is due to the visibility and the content creation from the beautiful community of modders. We want to work with them in a more creative way in the future." And: "What we want to prevent this time is abuses in how some Assetto Corsa modding is being used... This time, we want to see how we can support the good modders in a way that can create a synergy between the studio and the most talented creators." This is corporate doublespeak for: "We need to figure out how to exploit the community for profit while pretending it's for their benefit."
"We know you guys want us to allow mods but we're not going to let modders add cars and tracks that we could otherwise add via paid DLC." They don't want another AC modding scene where you can avoid buying their car and track packs by getting free mods of the same things.
I mean, it's clear the game has functionality to lock out all cars other than a few if you're not connected to the servers. That means they can very easily stop you from using any content other than that acquired directly from whatever store Kunos sets up. The "synergy" means Kunos will get a significant cut of any profits involved.
I believe its also important to remember how mods are, not only made ignoring copyright laws (design, sounds, brands and names, etc), but some are also sold. Kunos approach would pay attention to this sides as well, why is it "we want money" and not "we like mods, but lets try to do it a different way"?
but who is the double speak at.. could be they want to assure car brands that they will not support modders ripping unlicensed cars but that dosnt mean kunos will prevent these things just that they wont activly support it.. we will have to see
Rough, but has potential is what my thoughts are on AC Evo during 'Early Access', much like with the original Assetto Corsa during its 'Early Access' period. If anyone isn't interested in doing the 'Early Access' period for AC Evo, I can completely understand as waiting for it to be in a more polished state might be a better option.
I was excited for AC Evo, but the always online requirement definitely soured my mood for it a bit. It definitely makes me consider sticking to modded AC over buying into the new game.
I tried ACE on a pad and was actually quite impressed with it. Other than racing down towards the back straight of Bathurst, I felt like it was remarkably reminiscent of GT7 or FM with my custom assist settings. I’m not trying to say that pad should be the priority here, because it shouldn’t. What I am saying is that I hope Kunos keeps controller players in mind so that people who don’t have a wheel can enjoy the game to its fullest when it comes out. Setting up my wheel can be a pain and sometimes I just want to lean back in my chair with a pad.
This is exactly how I feel, I'm considering getting a wheel just for this game, but for now I really want the PAD support and experience to be superb, therefore I'm gonna hold off for a few updates and see how it develops, and probably purchase around the free roam drop period.
I never got AC to work properly for me, so I've only properly played ACC. In Evo it was simple to start a session and drive around. I had so much fun with the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm.
After todays update all 20 cars are there now. Offline only seems to be a huge problem that they're having a hard time fixing. After some wheel tweaking I think I have the setup right now. It feels pretty good so far. The GTI, S2000 and the Giulia are my favorites so far.
Jim you failed to mention all the issues some of us certain AMD combo people found, The game was completely unplayable on my 7800X3D/7900XTX combo, I had massive almost epileptic inducing graphical glitching all over the screen no matter what setup/settings/resolution or AMD driver settings I changed, the fact we were not warned or informed we may be paying nearly $50aud for a EA title that was completely unplayable at all, completely unacceptable.
I heard anyone that is not rocking more than 10gb vram, an AMD gpu and lower end cards are struggling a lot. It looks like the whole optimization of the game was made around RTX 4090. Although it is a testing phase of the game, I think it should’ve released when a bit more optimized
Agree. I found the menu so laggy. It would take a good 1 to 2 seconds to respond. Driving? I got 1 lap around imola, and it was choppy. Turned the settings down. No difference. pulled into the pits to change car set up, and I was stuck on the gray overlay. couldn't get out. Only a few tracks and cars to choose from. Practice and quick race options. This is an old school demo game, they are charging $50aud for.
@ Yeah, the 2060 would struggle with that, from what Ive seen, even the rtx 4060 and 4070 are struggling a lot, which are "new gen" cards. Well, its the beta version, so we can and should expect improvements in the near future, just gotta be pacient.
Btw , if the always online or Mods issue turns out to be a ballache, never forget we already have AC with a shit tonne of mods, and the Devs should be very aware of that, as far as I'm concerned I will support them, but if they fuck around I will happly go back to AC and consider the 32 euro a miss and that's it.
I'm impressed. It is a new sim. And that is a win. Settings look a bit confusing, car menu needs work, but graphics rock obviously and the car feel, I'll just have to see for myself. I have AC, I skipped ACC, but I'm investing in this. NOW :)
As much as I understand supporting the developers this really does seem like it came out too early. It reminds of a old school demo where you actually got access to a fraction of the game.
Like old ac, the road cars feel great. Especially the slower ones like you say. I enjoyed the hyundai, it feels like its trying to jack like a go kart. The race cars respond like you are slapping a pudding
I am disappointed that I can’t do the driving academy yet but I’m enjoying it so far. A lot to improve upon but feedback from the people playing will help Kunos make another great sim
I think people are assuming too much about the online features. It may be that you need a connection to *buy* cars, but not to drive them later after you’ve bought them. Still not ideal, but less problematic and easier to patch at EOL when they stop hosting servers.
I'm impressed with it to be honest. It's so early and can really see the potential. There's AAA titles that have been released worst than this 😂. Kunos have their priorities right and the game is playable. The one thing that stood out the most for me was the track in front of you not rendering, think I could tell from your video it is the same. I thought it was my PC 😂
TY Jimmy for making this video, finally someone that shares the same view as me and STILL as of this video and 2 patches later i still dont have what was promised and what i actually paid for. Also is it really EA if i cant even use the ui or in car camera or at the very least SAVE my profile haha this is alpha or beta at most
A scrupulously fair assessment, with all the necessary caveats…The only things I'd criticise Kunos for are (OF COURSE & sadly) there were going to be losers carrying out DDOS attacks and it's ALWAYS best to UNDER promise and then OVER deliver than what Kunos did, which was (predictably!) the reverse. 🙄
I have a theory why online might be required for progression. It might be closely linked to the coming multiplayer and could be a measure for anticheat or ensure a base level of experience. There should be other ways though and I really hope always online won’t be forced in full release. So far my biggest criticism of the early access and I hope they reconsider the design choice
About the grip. I tried drifting and I was getting spat out every single time it was like the assists took over and I was over compensating for the drift every single time I tried to drift. I know it's not the same but like you say the cars over compensate for the grip unnaturally and I couldn't drift at all. Glad I'm not alone thinking this 😅
For everyone having performance issues set graphic preset to high/ultra and anisotropic filtering to lowest. That helped a lot my performance from unplayable to racing 10 AI with smooth fps.

the always online DRM should be more concerning to you honestly, I have yet to see a game implement this kind of DRM successfully nor in a way that doesn't piss the entire player base off.
If kunos will not add mod support for this - they're denying the fact that AC survived more than a decade, ONLY because of the community. If they are at any point, up to any degree, think they will be able to do better without the modders - it's a slap in the face to all the fans. No studio will ever come close to the capacity of adding content and refining the game experience of the hive mind that is a dedicated gaming community.
The performance issues are dx12 issues it works by rendering shaders and textures as u see them so stutters and just them being cached it’s just how dx12 works so the longer ur on the game for the better it gets (idk if this is the issue for ace but for games that use dx12 this is main issue with stuttering)
Stil a bit rough around the edges. But fully expect kunos to make this into a great game. Give the Alpine a wizz. That car has received proper attention and is a gem to drive in it's current state. So at 32 euro's. This is a bargain. Support the developers. And enjoy the game.
I did ACC AE back then, now ACE AE. I know what to expect, from buggy start to awesome result. I have time and I can already feel the good vibes. Quite confident with Kunos ability to deliver. And really enjoying the EA sessions so far. Kudos Kunos !
Exited for the future of this game but this launch was maybe a couple of months too early. Also would love to feel more detailed ffb, I struggle to feel the tires on the limit. Physics seems really good
I like the fact that the steering wheel can be visible while using a controller. The shimmering and bouncing around isn't there anymore. It seems a little more stable and at least that part of it makes it a little more enjoyable.
I'm entirely okay with games being in early access and buying those games to support the development. I bought this because I love AC already and think Kunos have the skill and know exactly what they're doing. In terms of physics I trust them, but when I was hit with the missing content because the servers were offline, and realized there's content locked behind online connectivity, I refunded. I'm not interested in that kind of business model. Modded AC is literally all the sim I need for the rest of my life as I also play a ton of other kinds of games too and don't just focus on sim racing.
I think online requirement is there to save your account data to the server database, otherwise people could possibly cheat and edit some game files to unlock everything, that's my assumption
Its not an esports always racing against ppl game. Who cares if somone skips past some tedius grinding to get a car they want it effects no-one but them. Its stupid and will likely kill the game in a few years.
Why didn’t they release it as an early access title with only hot-laps, just two cars and two tracks, but fully optimised for excellent FPS and flawless VR performance?
I think that singleplayer should be like any serious sim, access to everything, if you provide server is to control progression which should be optional. Stop limiting content as a way to provide content.
With the online stuff this game isn’t replacing Assetto Originale to me. But on its own I like the idea of the online world and career stuff. The biggest pain point for me with what’s available now and will come when they let us connect is the VR performance being abysmal. Getting a fraction the frame rate at way lower resolution than AC while turning down so many settings it’s looking worse than CSP/pure too.
Despite its current flaws, the early access of Evo is better than the full release of Forza Built From The Ground Up Motorsport And I say it as a Forza fan
I noticed some of the curbs at laguna seca just don't give any feeling at all too, I played regular assetto corsa right after and my wheel nearly shook off my stand when I hit the curb on the right near the corkscrew
For those complaining about the sim being "Always Online." It is a fallacy. Online for multiplayer and the like. You can play in offline mode - it's a setting that will be available later on. For early access it's shows online, the goes offline.
Does anyone else want a modern take on the earlier Gran Turismo titles? More realistic maybe, but pad friendly, a bit grindy sure, but start off small, earning cash to upgrade your old second hang banger, gradually work your way up into amateur touring car and GT car races of various classes, all the way to the top with fictional takes on F1, WTCC, GT3 world series races, and more. I just want that slow, gradual, "mature" style of progression. No flipping festivals, or car history challenges, or stupid team stories and shit. Just take a clunker and head for the top.
The think I've seen from you and other streamers trying this out was FFB doesn't feel right. They really need to fix that, that is everything in a sim. Otherwise I love the idea of roads around the Nordschleife, and hopefully that means they will add other great roads in future bundles.
Whats impressed me the most is probably the suspension physics, when you watch some of the road cars in replys the cars really nose dive under breaking and shuffle about on like a 8 axis which is super realistic, seeing parts of a damp track turn dry on the racing line is something also never seen before along with the rain physic water droplets on your windshield are very in real time and not just a on and off animation like most games, the brakes also feel alot more realistic over heating them is easily done ,the car models have clearly been laser scanned or something also like they look in iracing they just look so detailed its not often you come across games that have raised the bar and genuinely feel new and unique cant wait to see what they do with this game in the coming months
I took a break in sim racing last year as I got bored of it. I tried ACE because why not ? Instantly felt all the sensations I enjoyed at first. It's just good. Incomplete, but good. The road cars are fun, the race cars do what you want, and it runs smoothly on my potato computer. What more could I ask from an early access game ??
The problem with always online is never "our" connection. Like Jimmer I'm perma online. The problem is, as they demonstrate, their servers aren't. And that's not early access, Hitman 2016 still finds itself broken for notable periods and that's 9 years old.

I actually only bought the game once i saw it has the rs3 because i think its the only proper sim that has it. I drive a pre facelift rs3 irl. I havent driven the 8y irl but from what ive seen and know about the car, it should have more oversteer under acceleration or at least the torgue splitter isn't modeled correctly. the rear should be able to lock up fully with the sense of a center diff thats also locked. especially in ungulation sections like the laguna seca corscrew where the wheels lift up, the rear feels like it has a symmetrical awd with open diffs and barely any lock to it. it spins up the engine to redline as soon as one wheel lifts up until it touches donwn again and is not getting power to the rear.
isnt the gold gti closer to the golf r? my mrs has the v7.5 r.. great car although she has the double auto clutch version
I knew it wasn't going to be very well optimized I knew a lot of the features weren't going to be there but I just think Asseto Corsa has been really good to us throughout the years and I was excited to go ahead and support them.
Excellent summary mate. Spot on. ❤
some AC mods already have the working infotainment system btw, was surprised I could control the song playing on youtube on a second screen from my car in VR
I vividly remember paying $80 for KSP2... That's all I can think about whenever this game is mentioned.
Don’t even insult Kunos like that.
FUCK KSP2 😂
what happened to that game was painful
that's why I haven't got it yet
worst 50 dollars I've spent
Idk, I had a weird feeling about ksp 2 wich made me wait for the full release. (Kinda waiting again with recent news but high doubts). Don't have it with this one though and thoroughly enjoyed driving on it yesterday
@speediskey3856 Don't buy it, it's a cashgrab at this point. Wait for KSA (Kitten Space Agency) instead
Still waiting for game support from qubic
Agree with you mate!
Nice and straight to the point review. Genuine as usual, Jimmer. Thank you very much!
I've been trying to find a decent review. This is why I love your channel, no BS, entertaining and I get the info I want.
I couldn't agree more with everything you said here. This is exactly how I felt about it. For me personally, I regret buying it at the moment, but at only $32, it hurts less. I don't think I will return to this one until the next major update. I just had too many gripes with it to dedicate any time to it.
Just get a refund until full release or whenever you're ready to play it.
@@NakedTrashPanda why get a refund and pay more later?
@@NakedTrashPanda I would have but I’m over the time limit. I spent over an hour just tuning the FFB alone. The rest was just testing different cars.
The tire scrubbing sound reminds me of a generic Unity car game
At least it's better than the original AC's
Which is too be expected but I would have preferred a more complete first experience.
then wait, what's the problem. I enjoy ferrari 488 very much and the real race driver of ferrari 488 says it's absolutely spot on
@@Airwolf-lm9cm they should have waited, they’re going to be fighting off this negative perception for the next few years.
What i dont understand is people complaining and be annoying to others on early access, why they think their moaning is important to anyone?
audio was worth a mention & worth them working on, top quailty audio can add tonnes of immersion
intending to come back to sim racing with this game's release, and obviously that comes along with watching you again, hoping you're holding up well Jimmy 😁
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 loved the intro. I felt like that too while refreshing the page tens of times.
Thanks for the video! I think I am going to wait a while for it to get some more features that I care about.
I still need to tweak the graphics setting a bit more visual/performance balance.
always online for singleplayer stuff means no buy from me, simple as that

Even though I'm having trouble calibrating my pedals with the game and having trouble getting stable graphics and FPS (even with a powerful PC), I am in full support of Kunos and this next project. I think they will bring a solid game eventually. People are just freaking out already. The world of "Early Access" has ruined our expectations in gaming.
June! Jumping Jiminy!
Edit to add: I mean, the free roam is the biggest point of the game. Isn't it? You'd think they would have that ready to go sooner but I can still appreciate a career type of progression like GT/Forza.
Exactly
Early access 2013, awsome and breaking new ground in simracing from day one. 2025 not at all the same feeling. FFB felt terrible on my Logitech Pro.
really? felt ok to me although havnt tried to much as vr is cpu bound at the mod while the cpu is under 50% use across all threads but the ffb felt ok and that i just needed to tune it.. didnt feel any true force though but again is probably a bug
"We thank the community for the huge job they did with Assetto Corsa, and we know that part of the franchise’s success is due to the visibility and the content creation from the beautiful community of modders. We want to work with them in a more creative way in the future."
And:
"What we want to prevent this time is abuses in how some Assetto Corsa modding is being used... This time, we want to see how we can support the good modders in a way that can create a synergy between the studio and the most talented creators."
This is corporate doublespeak for: "We need to figure out how to exploit the community for profit while pretending it's for their benefit."
Giving us a roadmap with not a single fucking date just shows this, is one of the scummiest things to do.
I love this. Thanks for sharing
Car Passion is a state of mind
@@AleBrancooLiterally unplayable on my Ryzen 5 2600 and 2060 combo. A literal slideshow even on the menu
Isn't that what early access is? A look at the fraction of a game while the devs polish it up?
@@ES90344 Early access is slowly gonna become a game without any textures or anything to do if you people keep buying these crapshoot games.
Like old ac, the road cars feel great. Especially the slower ones like you say. I enjoyed the hyundai, it feels like its trying to jack like a go kart. The race cars respond like you are slapping a pudding
I just want to drive around the Nurburgring repeatedly and the roads around it. can't wait for that
I'm super worried for the future of this game based on how devs are talking.
"Online only"
"Limited mod to no mod support"
Currently a hot lap tech demo, with useable VR to be added at a later date.
They wont. Theyll can the game at EOL and itll stop existing.
I was worried it was my GHUB that was causing issues feeling only some kerbs and not feeling the rumble on others. Glad that’s everyone’s experience.
what’s your wheel? I just bought the g928 to play this thing and i’m worried 😅
TY Jimmy for making this video, finally someone that shares the same view as me and STILL as of this video and 2 patches later i still dont have what was promised and what i actually paid for. Also is it really EA if i cant even use the ui or in car camera or at the very least SAVE my profile haha this is alpha or beta at most
now every time i make a mistake in ACE i hear in my head CARPASSION, i hate you
A scrupulously fair assessment, with all the necessary caveats…The only things I'd criticise Kunos for are (OF COURSE & sadly) there were going to be losers carrying out DDOS attacks and it's ALWAYS best to UNDER promise and then OVER deliver than what Kunos did, which was (predictably!) the reverse.
Really, what’s your gpu? I haven’t tested the game on my 4060 and I’m kinda scared 😅
Aqui tá horrível também na 4060

the always online DRM should be more concerning to you honestly, I have yet to see a game implement this kind of DRM successfully nor in a way that doesn't piss the entire player base off.
as a Carpathian i can confirm!
8:48, Jimmy out here listening to euro beats
If kunos will not add mod support for this - they're denying the fact that AC survived more than a decade, ONLY because of the community.
If they are at any point, up to any degree, think they will be able to do better without the modders - it's a slap in the face to all the fans.
No studio will ever come close to the capacity of adding content and refining the game experience of the hive mind that is a dedicated gaming community.
I gonna buy the game but wait playing it. I really love the concept
Cant wait to go in free roam with the boys in vr and drive around in cars I can never afford to buy!
Damn right even though my friend you never know man one day you could just be able to get what you always wanted just keep on pushing friend
The performance issues are dx12 issues it works by rendering shaders and textures as u see them so stutters and just them being cached it’s just how dx12 works so the longer ur on the game for the better it gets (idk if this is the issue for ace but for games that use dx12 this is main issue with stuttering)
anyone else remember the original assetto early access? 1 fictional track and a lotus elise lol, good / bad times
are they the same little company still?
The AI is unraceable, worried it’s going to be a hot lap simulator for non online players like AC
AI has to be a set place in the scheme of things... but this is building up driving systems, race mechanics etc. and that'll come in at some point
LA PASSION 🗣️🔥
I believe this game has a lot of work ahead of it but I’m very sure that with Kunos developing this, it’s going to be amazing by fall time.
Modded AC is literally all the sim I need for the rest of my life as I also play a ton of other kinds of games too and don't just focus on sim racing.
exactly the same thoughts
Thx Jimmer🤘🏻🏁
it'll obviously get better. everything is SO SO early. we cant make a full overall thought from a giga early beta
Hey Jimmy, do you plan on making a video on the recent AMS2 update and the addition of LFM servers? Would love to see you give the sim another go
I think online requirement is there to save your account data to the server database, otherwise people could possibly cheat and edit some game files to unlock everything, that's my assumption
Its not an esports always racing against ppl game. Who cares if somone skips past some tedius grinding to get a car they want it effects no-one but them. Its stupid and will likely kill the game in a few years.
Iam only buying it if it has mod support. If not, it will be just another racing sim
Why didn’t they release it as an early access title with only hot-laps, just two cars and two tracks, but fully optimised for excellent FPS and flawless VR performance?
The Fiat 500 Abarth still sounds like the fart it was in the original Asetto, it just goes BRRRRFFFRPPPT
Despite its current flaws, the early access of Evo is better than the full release of Forza Built From The Ground Up Motorsport
And I say it as a Forza fan
AC1 has good mod support, good performance and allows for silly business. Not swapping over until its in AC Evo.
I noticed some of the curbs at laguna seca just don't give any feeling at all too, I played regular assetto corsa right after and my wheel nearly shook off my stand when I hit the curb on the right near the corkscrew
Yeah, I can excuse the physics, sounds, optimization, etc. as early access problems, but the always-online aspect is pretty bad ...
Ye, that's also what prevents me from playing the game at the moment
For those complaining about the sim being "Always Online." It is a fallacy. Online for multiplayer and the like. You can play in offline mode - it's a setting that will be available later on. For early access it's shows online, the goes offline.
Game will be amazing in a years time but needs some optimisation first for sure
Does anyone else want a modern take on the earlier Gran Turismo titles?
More realistic maybe, but pad friendly, a bit grindy sure, but start off small, earning cash to upgrade your old second hang banger, gradually work your way up into amateur touring car and GT car races of various classes, all the way to the top with fictional takes on F1, WTCC, GT3 world series races, and more.
I just want that slow, gradual, "mature" style of progression. No flipping festivals, or car history challenges, or stupid team stories and shit.
Just take a clunker and head for the top.
I know that it is still in super mega alpha early access, but I am honestly a bit disappointed so far
The take away from this is we’re playing version 0.1 of early access. We can’t expect a polished finished article.
The think I've seen from you and other streamers trying this out was FFB doesn't feel right. They really need to fix that, that is everything in a sim. Otherwise I love the idea of roads around the Nordschleife, and hopefully that means they will add other great roads in future bundles.
Whats impressed me the most is probably the suspension physics, when you watch some of the road cars in replys the cars really nose dive under breaking and shuffle about on like a 8 axis which is super realistic, seeing parts of a damp track turn dry on the racing line is something also never seen before along with the rain physic water droplets on your windshield are very in real time and not just a on and off animation like most games, the brakes also feel alot more realistic over heating them is easily done ,the car models have clearly been laser scanned or something also like they look in iracing they just look so detailed its not often you come across games that have raised the bar and genuinely feel new and unique cant wait to see what they do with this game in the coming months
...and I gave this review 7 out of 10...
Do you think the price will go up once it comes out of release or as it updates? Is it better to grab it now or later in terms of price.
