I have definitely bailed on the process of digging one of these very same chips out of this key somewhere in the field. It was taking too long and I wasn’t sure if I had damaged the chip yet or not. I was using a razor, some machinist picks, and needle nose. I think I remember just paying premium to get the key that day locally. Thank you for making this simple and great key as an example.
It sucks we never get to actually see a chip successfully removed in your video. So does it work? I've dug chips out of Honda remote head keys and swapped them into new shells with just diagonal cutters and smart key reset tool, that's it. I wear safety glasses whenever I'm prying or cutting anything. I think the video would be better had we seen the chips ACTUALLY removed and tested on a cloner at least but at best swapped into a shell and started a car. The reason I say that is to see how much time from start to finish does it really take? I have a vice and a makita cutting tool, is that faster? Plus I can use the vice and cutting tool on so many other things..... Is it worth spending $250 on a tool that only cracks open keys and does nothing else? Would have been nice to see from literal start to finish, then time it then use other methods and time it. I like seeing tools here either way, just a suggestion and my preference. I need to see it to believe it when it comes to tools that "save me time" but the whole job isn't shown makes me less likely to buy it. Especially when it only does one thing and is very expensive. How many miscuts would you need to make this cost effective? I guess I'm somewhat on the fence on this product.
is this how the 2009 mustang gt key is? i have the key with the transponder and the door/trunk key. the key with the transponder is broken off flush at the bottom fo the plastic part so i made alittle case using 3d printers to hold the black plastic piece with the transponder and the door key together in one piece an its worked fine but stacking the two keys plus the material that was used to make the little case has made it quite a thick key so ive started slowly sanding on the side of the black plastic piece just trying to remove the material but if this is what it takes to remove it im pretty sure i can make one of those extractor tools with the tool i have access to i just got to know for sure it can be done with the key i have an without worry of damaging anything cause this is the only one i got an the last time i dealt with something like this i couldnt get another key made, tried dealerships an they refused to help due to the age of the cars, had a 96 mustang gt that had the same thing happen to me when i owned it, metal part of the key just fell out of the key an was gone. i was able to get someone to cut a key for me using the door lock cause it was the same as the ignition but when i went to try to get one made with the transponder they said it was to old an they could do it an also with a 99 mustang gt so before i do it id like to talk to someone who has dealt with this stuff enough to know how to do it an what the best option is with the key i have. thanks for sharing this tho alot of them just show the ford keys with the little cap on top thats pretty easy to remove an none of mine have been like that. solid plastic pieces. thanks again for sharing.
As I watch this, I wonder, wouldn't it possible to use a cheap soldering iron with a flat tip to melt through the outer plastic? Seems like that would be easier and faster, too. #LockBoss
Do you cut the head off of the new key to put it in? this video does not make any sense. I would just put the key in my programmer and read it and then take a copy of the data and write it on to a new key. .

Great Job Will have to try it's a lot faster than the way I have done it
Pj should be a teacher he is great. I have learned so much from him. Great videos #lockboss
Thanks Robert-PJ

A heat gun also really helps at finally getting the chip out by softening the glue if it's glued in
Thanks for the tip! -PJ
Look back at past videos. This was 👍. It never crossed my mind to even do that. Knowing is half the battle..(G.I. JOE)..lol..
Thanks Juniel -PJ
Great video! Do you sell any tool for renewing GM smart fobs ?

another great tip!
This is good to know. Its good to know. #Lockboss
Had to revert back to this video, customer failed to pay for keys... #Lockboss
Can you reprogram the existing transponder chip? (override)
What does the key transponder do? What is its function?
Get er done hell yeah 😂

Nice tools. Is that a Knipex cutter? Looks like I'm the first one to comment #LockBoss 🤣
100% -PJ
Do you know the direction a transponder chip goes is there any indication arrows or marks? Particularly ford flip keys
Smaller side pointed at the ignition.
is there a non destructive method for this?
99% no-PJ

this video does not make any sense. I would just put the key in my programmer and read it and then take a copy of the data and write it on to a new key.
.
So instead of answering the question, you just want to "heart" the comment. Do you think that "youtube algorithm" will beat my thumbs down?
Sometimes the only option is to extract an already-programmed chip from a worn or damaged key then put it in a new shell.
Do the chips ever go bad? They look indestructable..
Yes they can
@@clksupplies how do I know if it's they key or the immobilizer module antenna?!or PCM at fault
