I have been waiting for this since Preach started FFXIV. I always hoped one day he'd get to sit down with the man, himself, and do a real interview. I was not disappoint.
It was exactly what I hoped for: 2 MMO vets discussing the game and genre from their own unique POVs.
I've played hide and seek in final fantasy. It was really fun. I love the in game events. I feel like I only see advertisments for RP venues anymore. I really loved the days when you'd line up for something in game and just rp being in a line for things. The people who used to do that have automated things for twitch chats to farm engagement now and that takes away from the experience even if it's supposed to make it easier for people so they can do other things. I stood in line for over an hour once for idk what and it was a play and it was cool and fun.

Same for summoner and scholar. Straight up removed the entire pet system, made carbuncles and fairies a cosmetic on the battlefield with minimal usage because some people do not know how to play those jobs. Same for Astrologians and their card system, because people did not know when to use their cards at the right time.
At least for summoner I can say that it wasn’t really that people didn’t know how to play the job but that the pet AI wasn’t that great and broken at times. Your pet would just ghost actions for no reason and no fault of your own. Not to mention back in the day they had HP and aggro.
@@DDragonWhisper Actually there was a ton of loud minority noises that were complaining about micromanaging their pets in the forums, pairing with the fact that the game has spaghetti coding for the pets, hence resulting in the removal of even having to micromanage them, effectively dumbing down 2 jobs at once. I even had an FC mate complain about a SMN in their static not being able to do mechanics in ultimate even after having such a dumbed down state, not having to micromanage their pets compared to pre ShB. My boyfriend left the game as soon as he cleared the first savage as SMN in ShB because he said it was boring and he hated the change because of how braindead the job that he has mained for years feels, so yea. Most of us in the FC took long breaks from the game because of how unchallenging it became, we just went back to playing Dota and League. Some even completely gave up on SMN and SCH because it's just so boring to play, while I'm on the line of either staying or leaving because on one hand, I am the FC master, and on the other, the game just got so easy it's now boring. I'm just hoping Dawntrail can bring some difficulty back into the game even for a casual player like me. I haven't even bought Dawntrail yet because I'm waiting to see if the AST change is actually sort of going back to Stormblood AST.
@@coloxrme I see, I wasn’t arguing how easy the job is now, just how broken the pet system was and why it was removed in regard to people “not knowing how to play those jobs.”I used to like old summoner myself as well but now don’t play it much as well because it isn’t fun, just flashy.
The playing in dark being bad for youe eyes is a myth. It may cause a little more strain on your eyes causing them to be a bit sore but does not cause any long term issues.
I like long cast times, makes me feel like I got away with something. Also usually makes big number happen. Unga bunga.

I prefer to play games ina well lit room or with soft lighting from faerie lights and salt rock lamps. Playing in the dark, for me at least, was not great for my mental health and just didn't feel cozy.
It would have been nice if just one person that got an interview had inquired where the devs' heads are at regarding the future of healer design.
They unfortunately didn't give anyone who is a healer main an interview. Mike is a BLM main and Jesse is a Paladin main. I actually don't now if there is a streamer or content creator big enough that are actually healer mains.

Zepla asks what else they could add, I say _literally_ just _one_ other job that uses blunt weapons other thank MNK. Personally, I've been waiting for a hammer wielder that specialises in stuns, and maybe even knock-backs.
you can't specialize in stuns when diminishung returns exist, and knockbacks fucking suck for EVERYONE but the person playing the class... try running with a blue mage spamming the knockback moves, you can't AOE at all, you can't stay on the mobs, you're constantly chasing them(the other people in the group), knocks them out of placed AOEs(salted earth/doton), and the list goes on

@@shigeminotoge4514 in FF14 as a gimmick? i can't the game systems don't support it, GW2 uses hammers as AOE for alot of classes but you cant really have an "aoe class" on FF when every dungeon is 2 packs>wall>2packs>boss>repeat and trials/raids are single target, maybe just similar to picto's mantras where they have a slower GCD and less oGCDs but significantly higher potencies(almost all of picto's long casts are 1000+ for reference), but you can't make it harder for everyone else to DPS so 1 class can... also constantly knocking back your own target as a melee would even be frustrating unless they added a bunch of leaps/jumps/charges to it which would be silly wielding a giant hammer(maybe less so for small 1h maces i guess)
@@zeening boy, the game's formula has really made the variety limiting. No wonder every job feels the same these days. Still, I want SOME kind of heavy blunts class eventually. currently monk is all alone on leaving the opponents with bruises unless you count healers whacking them with books and canes, which I do not.

i wish he would invite random unknown players to see him and ask questions, people thats been around day 1, im happy for anyone who gets to talk with him, but i think its unfair when someone who hasn't been around since the beginning gets to only get invited. im not trying to hate, but i think random long time players should get a chance, even if its not even me, i would love to see any random long term player.

15:40 --- I always wonder about people who play their games or watch anything on a screen in total darkness. Its one of the things I hate about cinemas: they are dark XD Turn on the lights! XD You dont see more, its not prettier, it just hurts your eyes - at it hurts mine ^^°

1:10:42 --- Not sure what to think about that suggestion... about different mob packs and deciding as tank how many you pull. That is not only the tanks decision: the healer still has to watch your back and the dps have to kill things before you run out mitigation. I see a lot of dungeon-drama incomming: healers and dps that push an inexperianced tank and who flame if they wipe, a rushing tank who leaves behind his team and flames if they are too slow... These are just the classic scenarios. Personally, I'd rather have a predictable dungeon experience over that kind of drama. And I havent even touched on the bs that is "ypyt"...

I appreciate the devs having chat bubbles and double dyes. I just don't like the fact it took them this long to do it when chat bubbles were something that can be done through 3rd party tools, and 2 toned equipment have been in the game for years on various pieces, but locked only on the developer's side.
No one really asked for it as loud as preach did. I mean from my knowledge no one asked yoshi p till peach.
Its not that they havn't wanted to do it before, but you'd be surprised how loud people can be against changes even small ones and sadly its often the loudest that are heard the most and so they try to keep people happy
I never heard any real push for chat bubbles before preach came along. Sure, there were people who wanted it, but the demand simply wasn't loud enough for the devs to realise the demand was there.
How many of those 3rd party tools run on every platform? RFC 1925 rule 8.
@@pauldunecat don't be a console shill where you have to dish out $800 every 2 years, get a fuckin PC lol i hate when people say "wahh it's a money thing" bruh you fuckin console guys run out and buy new $500-800 consoles every few years just DON'T for one cycle and get a solid PC and you're set for AT A MINIMUM twice as long, and you can just upgrade 1 piece here and there if you want something better, AND you get a superior experience in all regards... seriously FC mate sent me a pic of the graphics op[tions on PS5 and i couldn't believe it, it's like 4 options compared to 3 PAGES of scrolling on PC and his game looks atrocious compared to mine even though it's the exact same game.
