How can someone say she didnt deserve to win? From the first measures of this ballade you can already tell how great she is. And yes, Trifonov and Wunder are both great and Im glad they're all having good sucess, but Avdeeva is as good as they are. Well, according to the judges she's slighty better but we know a competition doesnt say it all. I just think she doesnt deserve all the hate. She's great in her own league

Whoever saw Yulianna's incredible cycle of home streams during pandemic 2020/21 (still available in her Fb profile and UTube channel), knows that She is not only a great pianist, but also a powerful source of love, generosity, goodness and modesty. There are many good pianists in her generation, but as a person She is spiritually several strata above them. And this is reflected in her music. To me, any hatred towards such a person would be the nadir of moral degeneracy.

@@marekczekanski1598 She is a very fine pianist, but perhaps more attention to the score is warranted. Disconcerting flashes of tempi abberations, heavy handed. Rubato yes but trigger action tempi changes and heavy handedness. In short, not a good performance....not at all.

    • @ernieragogini3994

Easily....she didn;'t deserve to win. Not with this performance. Did she ever look at the score????

@@ernieragogini3994 definitely appreciate your comment, but as a fan of yulianna, I am quite confident you will have a different thought in the future. This ballade is definitely not at her best. Try the recent performance in Warsaw - listen to op61 and scherzo, she applied less dynamic change but more tonal contrast. And when you hear, erase your previous thoughts and have objective ears, I am sure you will hear what we hear 😄

@@ernieragogini3994 What you don't like about this performance is its relative conservatism and restraint. Yes, she of all the performers did look at the score. Did you? I don't hear any of the aberrations in rubato that you do, nor does anyone else apparently. It is the kind of approach that can last an entire career, where a more experimental and creative approach can burn itself out in a couple of years. Provided management will allow it to continue. You might not be a fan, but you really should learn to shut your mouth when it would serve you.

Music is her life and breath, her love and fulfillment, her karma and meditation, her peace and strength, her blessing and joy, her mission and happiness. She has brought it to share.

I really enjoy the way she plays it. I'm learning this piece right now. I do in some way think Chopin would have played it similarly. Very expressive

I have played it. Just do slow practice and keep a loose hand, especially on the coda and the climax.

I love you Yuliana! But that was WAY too rushed at the end. I could barely breathe! There is no reason to play that final statement of the opening theme at such a pace. And let the music breathe!!!! Love you.
