An emergency stop system should always be based on a hardware solution to cut power. It should never be controlled by software because of the risk to property and human life when the operating system or software application isn't responsive.

I have not had your experince with my K2. I also do not have any trouble printing 95A TPU. I've printed probably 200 RC car bumpers in 95A TPU and 72D TPU. Around 1500 printing hours. Not a single misfeed/stuck. This is coming from a borderline Bambu fanboy. I've had equal challenges with my K2 as my Bambu X1C's. Slicer isn't great but that's a pretty easy workaround.
I appreciate your candidness. We need more honest reviewers sharing their *actual* experiences.

Had mine for 10 days and printing around 10 hours each day, only PLA and PETG, assorted brands. Had zero issues, and impressive print quality from the very first print to the one printing in front of me now. Most prints are nearly the full bed area and 50-100mm depth, the speed is great. Haven’t used slicer software for about 3-years before using V6, and it’s much better than what the version of Prusa I was using back then - haven’t had any issues with it. Klipper is like that. It will not stop a print while doing its calibration. Until it is done it will stop. My sv08 will not stop until the Guad gantry leveling is finished for example. But i can tell it to stop and it will stop when its finished.

    • @knostar8935

@ Yeah, Klipper's PAUSE function only stops the stream of incoming gcode; not the execution of gcode.
My comment was just a laugh at the author's expense. Since most modern machines run Klipper (even Bambu, with their bootleg encrypted version), it's not Creality-specific issue, nor is it 'dangerous' since Klipper has other safety fail-safes.

The issue you had about the printer not stopping was due to how the stop print function normally works.
It normally stops the printer after the current action, however, the action you tried to stop on was the flow calibration macro, where the macro is considered as a single action.
This is true for bed mesh probing, PA calibration and flow calibration, where each item is a separate, but single actions. This means it won't stop till each macro has finished. It stops after the particular movement during the actual print.

  • @SooksVI
    @SooksVI 16 дней назад +5

Creality printers don't stop until it has finished the current task, whether it be printing a layer or finishing a calibration. In your case it looks like the printer was in the middle of a PA calibration. It would have stopped after it finished the current pass. I do think Creality needs an emergency stop function. I haven't tried printing TPU yet. I know it can't be printed through the CFS. I used to print TPU all the time in my K1C, but I had to print an overhead support to directly feed the extruder. So far, my experience with the K2 Plus has been flawless except for some color bleeding between white and dark colors; I'm still trying to finetune that.

Both of my printers are on a smart switch. I can kill the power to the printers with a simple phone app. It bypasses the printer controls completely. I could automate further by linking it to a smoke or heat detector. Not perfect, but it's one more layer of protection/control.

Hey brother, i agree 100 percent. I have been using my k2 plus for about a month or so now and have had several issues. I have had to remove the cover of the board to cut the zip ties to the camera cable to gain some slack because the camera stopped working, i have had it randomly slam so hard after a print (dunno where, i think left side, but we heard it) that the hotend cover flew off. I have had to take the extruder apart also to "clear a jam" and the spring almost hit me in the eye (let it so help me god), and then randomly it started working great again...until last night. I printed a bed full of whistles and everything was great, and then decided to print one more single whistle in another color and all hell broke loose. The number 2 slot of my cfs reversed all my black out and wouldnt take it back it (or recognize it was in). Every time i manually put the black back in (which i wasnt even using slot 2 for the print), it kept spitting it all back out. I wrote creality and sent all the errors and gave them a piece of my mind. I powered it off. Randomly this morning it decided to take the black. I printed. It reached 100 percent and came up with error 2172 unknown exception (which isnt on the error list)... i removed the print, started again, waited for the calibration (which it wasn't supposed to do) and then as it was about to start,.i get error [CZ2762] , saying the extruder leveling sensor may be damaged or the wiping module may have fallen off. Please check or try restarting. BTW, this code isnt in the help guide either. I then got pissed and wrote creality again and told them i want a new printer. I will be dang if i am going to spend hours working on their junk. Its obviously under warranty, and i suggest they dial a k2 plus in and send it to me. I have about 400 bucks in brand new creality filament now just sitting there. Oh yeah, last week it wouldnt stay connected to the network for whatever reason. This week its been fine. Its like if they would just stop messing with the firmware in the background (thats what it feels like anyways) it would work. I agree with u about the hotend flying apart. Thats bull. So help me god if that spring hits me in my eye like it almost did, i am going to own creality. I have always supported them because i like the open source aspect of creality, and i bought this not even reading reviews (i was an early bird buyer), i just KNEW this was going to be the best thing since sliced cheese...but now i am wondering. Please let me know if u happen to find a reliable firmware that makes this all that it can and should be. I agree with you on the quality. The prints are amazing. The printer isnt the problem...its the morons developing the firmware.

It is refreshing to see a good honest review video for the K2. I own the K2+ and BL printers and you are spot on. Looking at reviews from others, they make it seems like the K2 is the best devices without flaws. Feels like they just want to get on or stay on Creality good side. My K2 prints nice but it does have issues that remind me of pre bambu lab printer era and the slicer Creality Print 5 & 6 is pure trash. BL printers at least for me are Set it and forget it. My K2 i need to watch it constantly. Since I already spent my money on it, I hope they will make it better later down the road.

Thank you for your realistic review/information. I absolutely agree why would someone buy a printer for that much and then have to root the machine and replace a majority of the critical parts just to get it to work well. I'm sorry for the problems you have experienced, but appreciate the knowledge you pass on. I have become a bambu fanboy because it is the first printer that I have not had to replace a bunch of stuff for it produce problem free excellent parts. My other printers I have basically almost rebuilt to get them to work, halfway decent. I have printed almost industrially with my poor P1S and it is a tank, its like OK clean me and give me more! I feel comfortable (probably too much!) remote starting a print, or starting a print across the network, and just expecting no issues and near perfect parts to come off. I was really considering buying the k2 combo due to the large build volume, but looking at the k1 issues i was not sure. After this video I will definitely now wait to see what bambu's answer is to large printers this Q1 2025. I'm done spending more time tinkering with the printer than printing with it, especially at this price point.

So moral of the story, keep the bed and the nozzle clean, watch your prints first layer go down. It didn't stop because it was doing the calibration? I feel like this is more user error. Like u gotta keep up with the maintenance. I had a buildup on my print similar to this, but because I inspected the nozzle before I printed, it wasn't an issue. Highly recommend an anti-stick like Slick Engineering to prevent the buildup on the nozzle.

The reason why it might takes time to stop is usually the implementation of klipper in the firmware. Not stopping with estop is because klipper is stuck in a busy state in the firmware. I know klipper is sometimes slow to react on estop when it’s within a macro.( calibration as you seemed to be within in your video). But 1 min, that’s poor programming/ bug of the implementation of the calibration macro. K1 is also slow to react to stop under calibration.

I bought K1max more than 2 months ago. After I received first printer it was so bad that I wanted to return it. But creality replaced it with one from newer batches. It prints good, but I wouldn't buy it as my first printer. Both first and second printers had vibration noise. They've sent me lots of parts and I had to change them. After that new problems surfaced and it seems that creality don't use their own printer because if I wasn't able to troubleshoot and fix myself the printer would be basically useless or with unpleasant noises(but printing well). After repairs I had problems with input shaping, and after I wrote 8 emails to them, they asked me If I use third party slicers to fix ringing issue :DD wtf is that sh*t. So i'm two months in and I hope to start using it soon :D At least I'm happy that I paid only 590 euro for it, received spare parts and two spools of hyper pla. I never had the filament come out the side of the extruder, but I did have constant jamming problems. I ended up totally disabling retraction and whilst it helped it still didn't result in any completed parts. I ended up loading Cura and sending the prints to my Ender 3 V2 (with DD extruder) and it got it done first try, zero tuning.. Default profile with a filament temperature change.
I'm very pleased with my K2 as I typically only print PLA and sometimes PETG. I have only ever printed TPU twice in 6 years, but if you want to print a lot of TPU, stay away. Buy something else.

Now it's fine with both slicer 5 and 6. I then printed an ASA basket for my Pi Plus filament dryer. It was amazing. The second one I printed complained of a jam. I cleared the jam and tried to feed in new filament in but the extruder motor wasn't feeding. I tore everything apart and made sure every was connected. No change. Then after a few hours of being turned off, the extruder started working. About half way through an 11 hour print. The printer complained of another jam. I cleared it again and the extruder would not pull the filament in on either manually extruding or telling it to do a filament change. I turned the machine off and a few hours later it completed the same 11 hour print.

I still cannot understand why they don't reuse the updated hardware from the K1C. Why use plastic gears in the extruder when they already have a proven metal gear system in production? Why is the K2's Unicorn nozzle different from the K1C's? Why do they keep re-engineering their hardware from generation to generation when they have a track record of teething problems and the new stuff is only slightly different from the old stuff?
As for the slow Pause/Stop response, the computers in their printers are really low spec. K1Cs are at 50% load when they're just sitting around and running the web interface.

But I'm sure that this "not stopping" issue does only happen while doing the calibration ... :/ it has to do with how klipper needs to end the current step before the stop command will get into effect... While normal print operation it will be basically instantainious... They could trigger a "emergency stop" but the currently only trigger a "normal stop" ...

Wait the gears are plastic? Anyway got a K1 SE and it works pretty much flawless since December. Need some more filament to really run it, buts its been great coming from my old ender 3 and ender 3 v2. Was hoping to upgrade to a k2 plus but I'll wait a bit for the H2d and maybe a k2 plus v2. Creality also needs to step up the replacement parts game and slim down their line of printers.
Thanks for the heads up, because I really cant afford to send a printer back where I live.

@@joecouch2315 tons of bad experiences with the K2. I think most of them are quality control and firmware related though. @ so I have to agree. I had 3 weeks of non stop issues, error codes and bad prints. Got to the point I was going to trash it and all along this journey was in contact with creality. They finally gave me return label and I turned the printer off for 3 days while i was trying to find a box and prepare to send back. At the time I posted on here I was DONE!! 2 weeks ago I turned back on just as I had nothing to lose and was sending back and I was able to print a 12x12x12 table and it turned out great. So I kept printing things and have done a 48 hour and 60 hour print since and in 2 weeks have only had 1 print not turn out great. It makes no sense as the only thing i did was turn it off for 3 days and turn back on. Time will tell but I am keeping the printer for now because when it works it prints really well. I think in 6 months this will be a great printer and hope all the bugs have been worked out for everybody else.

The other two were to fix it, blocked hot end and the gears were jammed. This all occurred after owning the printer for three days.

Few issues I have with your video first you need to get your facts. Straight creality did not make orca.Orca slicer is created by soft fever and is a fork of bamboo studio, not cura someone who's been three d printing for years.Like you say should know this secondly, this only being your second creality machine it's a new machine that was rusted to release like most companies happened with bamboo happened with several cell phone companies. When they came out with their new Gen., phones, same thing with new gaming consoles and gaming p. Cs, this is why smart people wait six months to a year to buy a new product. So all the bugs are worked out as for not being able to stop the print that was during calibration, it will always wait till calibration is complete before stopping the print. This goes even back to the old bed. Slingers, looks like you don't know as much as you think you do appreciate the effort, though

I bought one the day after Christmas. I have not had the same level of issues YET. However I have had a few and they are firmware issues or motherboard issues. It will just stop with a error for no reason or once it did a large print ,did 95% ,stopped and said it was complete. Hopefully I do not experience the same level of problems he has had. The slicer is garbage to say the least but there really is not other option at this point if you are using cfs. With the time they spent developing this machine it should be better. They do not even have a smooth build plate for it.

So the printer did not catch fire and this is clickbait , if you had have watched it and not jumped the gun and turned the printer off it would have been able to finish executing its current macro . As soon as as the stripe down the right had side had printed, put in its level lines and done its move print scan - the circle would have stopped and you would have gotten the opportunity to pause. This is not just a Creality thing - the Bambu X1C does it too. Yes the macro takes a long time is it going to cause a fire in that time - I highly doubt it would ever get to that.

The K2 Plus is a great printer. Some of his issues are misleading, like not being able to stop. It would have stopped right after the calibration. Version 6 of the Creality slicer is also great, but I think he uses a Mac and it's not out for Mac yet (no fault of his). I used to use Orca until the version 6 slicer released, which fixed a lot of the issues I used to have with Creality slicer. I've seen a number of users having issues because the printer was mishandled during shipping. I got mine from B&H and it was extremely well packed. The only reason I purchased the K2 was because I owned the K1C and I watched Creality push updates to that printer to make it the flawless printer that I consider it to be today, aside from bad network connectivity. I expect Creality to do the same with the K2 and improve upon an already great printer.

I just learned to use it and by that I dont mean pressing a button like u do, I mean creating a profile that works for whatever filament I am using, and understanding what I am doing. But ur not entertaining that and I get it. The last update really made the k2 crazy so I downgraded. I have printed over 40 kg of generic PETG so far amazing. I have to say, that spring is EASY TO LOOSE. That I agree with you 100%, the rest meh.. I have printed non stop for a whole month doing my projects and so far amazing. Not Bambu again, in release year it was worse than K2, much worse. A1 almost burnt houses down. But yes, Firmware and Software is buggy as hell, not only buggy but lacks logic, digged through code. Dunno which dumbass made it but it looks similar to K1 firmware. And Orca works, you can send it to the printer by using the Creality Print protocol. But you have to start in Creality Cloud app, Creality Print or on the printer itself. You have to map the colors to the CFS because Orca has no CFS connection and doesn't know. Name the filament type same as in CFS or it won't offer anything in the mapping tab. Printing TPU also works, best is to remove the bowden tube and feed it through the top.

So this guy don't understand a thing about 3d printing, makes really stupid errors and misunderstanding, but instead of blaming himself, it blames the printer 😂😂😂 this is the example of people that started 3d print with printers thinked to be used by brainless monkeys...
The K2 is not perfect and has some issues, but if you didn't understand how 3d print works, is not a printer fault. You can't stop a kipper printer during initial startup and calibration... Any klipper printer, any brand, because klipper works in this way.
I did tpu with no issue.... Because you have to set the filament in the slicer settings, not only on the printer.
