    I sure like the 16 and the 14 of A&M.

    Tbf, as much as I dislike the SD70s, you can kinda tell that the A&M needed them considering they could have 6 C420s on a larger train. Better that you have half that number of engines that have double the horsepower.

      Not to mention that getting the 420s off those heavy pulls will extend their lives for many more years working locals and switch jobs.

    Golly I miss Alcos in the northeast. By the way, does the former Rutland 400 still run? I spend my time taking care of sister 405.

    If they're being replaced, are they going to a good home or just being scrapped? Couple shortlines still running Alcos here in PA.

    • @fmnut
      @fmnut  9 лет назад +1

      They are keeping all the Alcos for now. They will be used for switching on line and for contract switching services.

      second query, what sorta power are the road bringing in?, and what will be the status of the original power?

    • @fmnut
      @fmnut  7 лет назад

      Bill Porter The A&M yard in Ft. Smith is at 35.401483,-94.414311
      They run Alcos on the local jobs out of there. The turn from Springdale has the new EMDs.

    • @fmnut
      @fmnut  6 лет назад +2

      lightnindash 3804 yes, they only got 3 SD70s for their road trains. All of the Alcos were kept for locals, yard work and contract switching operations.
