That game was so hard to watch cause of how intense it was. Despite losing, im still very proud of the team. That felt like a playoff loss, very very sad but a lot of positive things to take from the game. I’d rather lose like that than blowing 20 point leads and losing like last year.

The way I look at them is that if they would have converted them into touchdowns they would be saying "Staley is great, best coach' but since they couldnt convert they went for his neck. Chiefs fan here. I'm glad that of the three other teams in the division, it's the Chargers who have stepped up to challenge us. For me, when the Broncos or Raiders are doing well it is intolerable. You guys are building up the right way, drafting a gunslinger and adding to your team piece by piece, unlike the Donkey's who bought a hired gun in Peyton Manning. What’s scary about our team is, we’re playing like this already under a 1st year HC and a 2nd year QB. We are definitely heading in the right direction and mark my words we’ll finish the season 11-6 and only get better when we get into the playoffs. Bolt up!!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Oh stop it. The chiefs were an offsides call away from going to the super bowl in Mahomes FIRST YEAR with two subsequent Super Bowls the two years after. Will most likely be another super bowl visit this year. So stop with this ohh look what the bolts are doing in Staley’s first year. First off you’re about to miss the playoffs. But second, doesn’t matter what you do it won’t compare to what the best quarterback in your division, afc and nfl has already done.

Reading these comments I'm so happy that so many see things as I do as a true Chargers fan! Wanted that game, but love the way we play so much more! Haven't been more impressed over our head coach since the days of Don Coryell and the future potential of Herbert is unparalleled in Charger history and his charisma ranks up there with the likes of Junior Seau, LT, Gates, J.J. and I believe he will lead the Chargers to a Super Bowl win in the near future. Justin Herbert is just so good
With all the injuries and Rashawn Slater missing because of the Covid19 precautions, what was most telling even though the players and coach Staley won't admit it, Travis Kelce only had one catch and 14 yards until Derwin James left the game with the hamstring injury and Kelce blew up with 8 receptions 177 yards and 2 td's. The Chargers need better depth in the secondary. The outcome I believe, would have been a win for the bolts with Derwin James still playing and Asante Samuel Jr. was playing and covering Tyreek Hill. Still as bad as I felt when we lost, I still felt pretty good knowing that if all the players were healthy on both teams the Chargers are the better team! There is definitely going to be a shift in the power in the AFC West and it's the team with coach Staley and Justin Herbert! Bolt Up!

But remember Kelce only had one reception for 14 yards while Derwin James was assigned to him until 4th quarter when Derwin went out for the duration with his bad hamstring that got worse.
That's when Kelce exploded on his runs. DJ was on sidelines. I sure hope we meet in playoffs at KC. We beat you once there and I like our chances. Fear is not the right word. But Chiefs know when they play Chargers its the final possession that decides the game and team with ball last wins. Call it what u want.

I was at the game last week and sat next to Chiefs fans as they watched Kelce run in for the OT TD..as much as that stung, the loss didn't feel like a Norv, Mccoy, Lynn loss.....There's a different vibe with these Chargers, where you know nobody in that building is taking the loss lightly. Staley wants perfection, he's emotionally intelligent and above all cares about his players while not being afraid to call them out on their poor play. IDGAF about our record right now, this is a Superbowl Caliber team. We are literally 2 key players away from being unstoppable.

I'm proud of the Chargers this year. On his 1st year, Staley has already made an impact. Herbert is a monster QB. I hope they keep the aggressive playing from now on. Lynn was kinda aggressive on his 1st year, but then something happened (maybe some internal political stuff or some assistant decisions) and the Chargers fell back to very conservative plays. I do rather lose while trying to win than losing for not believing in our team enough. Thank you all!

That loss hurt bad, but I felt equally inspired. We had major pieces missing on both sides of the ball, DP's injury, and having to come back from behind. The Chargers still controlled most of the game, and could have easily tacked on more scoring. The next time they play, I think the Chargers are gonna go berserk on KC.

To lose a game like that and still love the team and know they're trending to greatness is a relief I don't remember ever feeling. I can't believe we Charger fans got so lucky with both Herbert and Staley, not to mention the other standouts like Eckler and DJ and Bosa, Allen and more. Pipkins played a heck of a game so hats off to him for quieting down his detractors. The Bolts will be peaking in January.

We actually beat the Chiefs but lost because we beat ourselves. Sure we could've kicked a FG but I blame #87 cooks for having so many freaking drops. Please do not bring him back next year.
Also, if Derwin & Eckeler hadn't left injured, we're also talking different ending.
If we had our three best defensive players on the field, the Chargers wouldn’t have been able to March up and down the field so easy. Let’s not act like KC was at full strength. Mahomes and Kelce took the game over when needed. Herbert had the ball with over a minute left. If that was Mahomes he would have got them in field goal range for the win. That’s the difference with elite vs really good QB’s. Mahomes was just better.
First of all. Just amazing. They captured the vibe for this game in every way. But Just watching we outplayed the shit out of them. We just had bad luck.
People may have a lot to say about Staley’s decisions. But no one can take a way that this is a coach who is playing to win. If parham and cook caught those balls in the end zone, we win.
If there were no tip balls and if Mahomes did not fumbled the times in your territory the first game we played the Chiefs would of won coulda and should does not mean squat.

I still would have taken the 3 at the half.. but then again, if Parham doesn't go down and catches that one, and if Cook doesn't drop that TD, this is a 2 score victory, even without those field goals. I love this mentality, we just gotta live with the losses stinging a little more is all, but there's less of them. It's win and your in, and likely looking at a round 3 with the Chiefs in the divisional round. Bolt up!

Memo to Roger Goddell: Change the overtime rules immediately. Either (1) The visiting team in OT automatically receives the kickoff (i.e. what DID happen Thursday) OR (2) The team who lost the opening coin flip to start the game automatically receives the OT kickoff (i.e. what DIDN'T happen Thursday).
Knowing this in advance would: (1) Compensate for the purely luck element of pregame coin flips---i.e. in nearly every instance the choice will then be to RECEIVE rather than DEFER. (2) Reduce the number of OT games, since it for would dramatically affect the late game "Go for it" strategy of both teams. (3) Reduce the number of potential/likely injuries to fatigued players---something, players, teams, fans and the NFL all want.
RE the Chiefs 34-28 win: Does anyone actually believe Justin Herbert was incapable of leading the Chargers to a winning touchdown IF the Bolts received the OT kickoff? (Note: He's already accumulated 8 game-winning drives during his brief career.) Fortunately, the 2 teams---with one win each so far---will likely meet again for the 3rd time this year in yet another "tiebreaking scenario." Because 2 of the 3 total head-to-head match ups between Mahomes and Herbert have gone to overtime, it's past time for Roger to step in and make this change BEFORE the playoffs begin.
I rest my case.
The Chiefs already tried to get the rule in place because KC lost in the AFC championship in 2018 the same exact way. Everyone knew whoever won the coin toss was going to win. Everyone complained about KC wanting the rule changed. So that’s the rest of the leagues fault.
You do have to remember that Herbert had a chance to lead his team to a game winning field goal on Thursday. He failed to do so.

Been a fan almost 20 years since the Marty days. I haven't been this hyped about a coach in a long time. Chargers dodged a long term bullet with Urban Myers who would've been here for years probably if Myers even considered the Chargers when all the media outlets said Chargers gotta get a big splash name HC. Say what you want about Spanos the man knows how to rebound a franchise quickly. He has a hot handed GM once again that's building a serious foundation that we are witnessing before our very eyes right now.
This year is as wide open as it'll get in the AFC.
I cant imagine having Urban Grinder as our coach 🥴😂
