Your bonsai bench looks rather pretty with all the red leaves scattered across the trees - quite festive I think! The sacrifice branches do seem to have fattened up the trunk compared to the spring shots - at this rate, the tree should be self supporting in a year or two. Fun to see red leaves, flowers and ripe berries all at the same time. How long would you like your weeping branches to grow?
I think so, too! It hasn't developed as well as I had hoped. In fact, it looks remarkably the same at the beginning of the year as it does now, but, the trunk is thicker and maybe next year I'll get more branching. Stay safe Sue
Good luck Sid with your Virginia creeper I have had one for the last 20 odd years from a miserable bit of material, it is kept small and is looking fabulous in its winter colours as yours was before they fell off. All the best my friend.
Best of luck with your Virginia Creeper! I've got two going right now, both dug out of the yard. One is a natural exposed root and with the other I am trying for a raft-style. Interestingly, both get their autumn color about a month before those growing in the ground do. They seem healthy enough and they grow vigorously during the summer months, so not sure why that happens. Of course, growing in a small bonsai pot is nowhere close to normal for these vines, which can easily go 50 ft. up a tree if given a chance! Take care Sid!

Same. The Creeper I layered this from is still green too. A raft style with a Creeper is an interesting idea. Hmmmmm

Sure it will soon develop sid great colour in autumn... are the grabbers tendrils...
Thank you. They are tendrils! I knew that, but could I dredge the word up from the depths? Wasn't happening that time. Stay safe mate
Wouldn’t putting it into a bigger container help in its growth of the trunk until you get it a bit more developed. ?
Of course, but then I'd have this empty pot that I received as a Christmas present. It would be rude not to use it. Stay safe
