    Used aluminum foil and hole punch. Hairdryer for two minutes to make it easier to lift the face cover off. Took 5 minutes start to finish. Thank you.

    GMW: You didn't quite show where the aluminum tape went, but figured it out and have done both up and down volumes....a piece of cake!.Some additional tips you may find helpful. Use a paper hole punch to cut out the aluminum tape. Use a cotton bud to clean off the inside of both volume domes, and the other end to clean off the contacts of any residue. Use pointed tweezers to place the sticky side of the tape under each volume dome, and secure with the end of a cotton bud. Replace the top cover and make sure it's evenly down, or secure with clear tape over the edges. Pitty we have paid a lot of money for a good radio, they they issue a cheap crappy remote, but the fix should last for years.

    Wow! Have had a Bose Radio since the 1980s! Late last year, the front was starting to peel off at the bottom and I held it together with cellotape. Found a sound shop that could give me an almost identical model for $26.00. All well for about a month then the on/off stopped working and thanks to your video I figured out why. Have just finished sliding a piece of aluminium baking paper under the button using a cutting knife, and ..... it works perfectly!!!!! Thanks for passing on the knowledge.

    Thank you! Was easier to do than I thought, that upper layer is pretty thin so it's easy to pull up without chipping the plastic below, and the sticky stuff is good enough to just press back down. Works great.

    Hello InfernoUniversity. You are brilliant. I followed your instructions, but I used a dab of gorilla glue and a tiny piece of aluminum foil, and it worked perfectly.
    Bose make great sound equipment but this is the second remote in 2 years I went through. Thank you soo much for sharing your method...

    Worked absolutely perfect. I've procrastinated for a year on repairing a "new" remote which had the same volume up failure. I removed the battery drawer, gently pushed up on the keypad from the open battery area which gave me just enough room to put an old dull razor blade (on the top edge) to lift the pad carefully off. I affixed a tiny dot of the aluminum tape on the underside of the button.....it works like a champ!! Thank you thank you thank you.

    Excellent video! this worked perfectly! I have the same Bose radio/cd player and the volume button was not working. The repair cost me about $7 total. Good job. My only suggestion would be; next time let us see the actual application of the foil only because I initially applied it wrong🥴

    I used a hole punch. Perfect fit. Used the small screwdriver to press it into the depression. Thanks for the video.

    It’s even easier to just cut the 3 en 5 buttons out and paste it on the volume up and down place. 4 min work! Easy

    Ordered a replacement remote for bose wave 2 and it doesnt work. The remotes are apparently not interchangable, yet my 2 existing radios' remotes are interchangeable and work fine. I am guessing that each remote has a frequency that it sends to the radio and you have to somehow get lucky when buying a replacement. Unless anyone knows a fix?

  • @toddgivens9073

    If you have to purchase the foil tape you might as well order a new remote 10-12 bucks :)

      Todd Givens he said he looked first to replace remote and could not find for his exact model - so he came up with this solution out of necessity. Take care😀

    couldn't you just use double sided tape and tin foil?

  • @paulmech3610
    @paulmech3610 3 года назад +1

    That tape probably cost as much as a replacement remote on eBay. Lol... I think I'll pay the $7.50 and just get a generic remote made for the wave on Ebay. But, thanks anyway.
