I am a progressive rock fan that almost always dislikes pop music, until I listened to the Blackpink chorus of their most famous song, Ddu-du Ddu-du totally by chance (I think in an Instagram reel) and interested me. I listened to more and more songs and quickly became obsessed with their sound, literally every song by them is good and now they are one of the very few artists that are currently active and that I love. It's pop but the mix of genres they do of pop, hip-hop, edm, eastern vibes I really enjoy, even though I am not a lover of those sounds individually. And they are also rock in their live versions at the concerts. Also I love how kpop offers a whole package, a total show, with choreography and visuals, it's just so much entertaining compared to western pop, which is so generic and repetitive, musically and visually. Plus, when you get to know the girls, it's impossible not to fall in love with them, they are stunning beauties with crazy stage presence while at the same time being the most sweet and down to the ground girls possible, they are incredible relatable as human beings and when you get to know them as 4 girls that followed their dreams at a very young age, survived in a harsh 4-5 years of training, competitive and cold environment, supporting each other as sisters, for then to get instantly at the top of the world (they literally killed the competition as soon as they debuted with the first two songs, and they have been the most successful girl group since) it becomes impossible not to love them

I am a progressive rock fan that almost always dislikes pop music, until I listened to the Blackpink chorus of their most famous song, Ddu-du Ddu-du totally by chance (I think in an Instagram reel) and interested me. I listened to more and more songs and quickly became obsessed with their sound, literally every song by them is good and now they are one of the very few artists that are currently active and that I love. It's pop but the mix of genres they do of pop, hip-hop, edm, eastern vibes I really enjoy, even though I am not a lover of those sounds individually. And they are also rock in their live versions at the concerts. Also I love how kpop offers a whole package, a total show, with choreography and visuals, it's just so much entertaining compared to western pop, which is so generic and repetitive, musically and visually. Plus, when you get to know the girls, it's impossible not to fall in love with them, they are stunning beauties with crazy stage presence while at the same time being the most sweet and down to the ground girls possible, they are incredible relatable as human beings and when you get to know them as 4 girls that followed their dreams at a very young age, survived in a harsh 4-5 years of training, competitive and cold environment, supporting each other as sisters, for then to get instantly at the top of the world (they literally killed the competition as soon as they debuted with the first two songs, and they have been the most successful girl group since) it becomes impossible not to love them
