Cort is underrated, especially with a few upgrades they can really be great! That one is a beauty.

They don’t get enough love for the quality guitars that come out of that Cort factory.

It's one of my favorite demo videos. Thank you, sir. I recently acquired the same guitar, and I absolutely love it. I'm hoping to sample the Trans black, G290 Fat 2 at some point. These are amazing guitars for the price point. Cort has stepped up their game, and I thank them for it.

I tried the G290 FAT about three years ago and in the end went for a different guitar, but this one was fantastic (in a violin burst finish, though). It felt great and I have no regrets but years later I tried the mark II and the G300 and I thought to myself, how can’t you justify not having one of these? Honestly, they punch well above their weight for the money. I now have the G300 pro and I have to say it sweeps the floor with my other more expensive, fancier-branded guitars. Well done Cort. There are only a few minor caveats that will not detract from the fact these are killer axes.

That’s made in the same factory as the Ibanez premiums . Check those ball fret ends. That Ibanez feature is creeping into the other brands they make over their. Those ball fret ends on a 600 ish guitar. I’ve always thought Cort had cool guitars . Start line for those fret ends on other Indonesian fiddles. Love the truss rod adjustment at the bottom of the fretboard that’s a real nice guitar for the money even better if you can pick a used one up for 400 or so. That’s a poor man’s music man. If it feels like the Mexican Charvels those have some of the nicest necks I’ve felt.

That is a beautiful guitar. I would take the neck and the tuners off, give the neck 3-4 coats of Tru Oil to darken that birds eye and then hit it with some 2000 for a nice semigloss satin feel but to make the wood pop

You may know this, but some may not.
When you tune a guitar laying down , it will not be in correct tune when in playing possession.

Myth. There's so much tension on guitar strings that the way it's turned is going to have no effect on the tuning of the guitar.

Very nice guitar, but what I dislike about those type of tremolo arm mounts is that it forces you to have to carry around the little allen wrench to tighten down the whammy arm and you're obviously going to lose it. I took my Wilkinson arm mount off and figured out that a Floyd Rose arm mount can usually fit through the same diameter hole in the bridge plate, so I purchased and installed a Floyd Rose arm mount and now I don't have to carry around a little Allen wrench anymore.

A wrench holder that you can put on the back of the headstock can be bought very cheap and they hold the keys in place just fine. It's where I keep my key for headstock adjustment and trem arm, and both stay there really well and don't fall out.

Great review. But is this guitar heavy? Different sources are saying 9 to 12lbs.

Would of been nice if they carved out the lower bout like so many PRS clones do,not that you can't reach to higher notes on the neck, the rest of the specs are great.

Yeah a bit odd considering Cort make the PRS SE line. Still a great looking/featured guitar.

Video on tuning. Tho this is more important with floating bridges, i find the same thing happens with fixed bridges. Not as bad , but all the same.
