That guy on the yellow fish is ripping with so much style. So much more beautiful to watch in my opinion.
Ditto...☝
💯💯💯
..and MERRRY CHRISTMAS from the Texas hill country!
Merry Christmas!!🙂🤙🏾
Twin fins are the best, they totally reshape your surf style and approach to the wave. I now have 4 boards (plus one I ordered) All twin fins. Remember the first twin I ordered from my shaper…. The first month I was regretting the money I spent. But after getting used to the way of surfing twins, never went back to a thruster…
Great choice!😉👏🏾
Barrels by day, babe by night. The dream.
😁😁
That was beautiful to behold. Gorgeous lines being drawn.
Couldn't agree more!
Beautiful! It’s nice to see it not so crowded so we can really enjoy the scape.

Big shout out to all those donating to our brothers and sisters in Siargo, Philippines. You can donate through the Red Cross Philippines, or a local charity of your choice. Cloud Nine will Shine again. Peace and Merry Christmas X
LOL
Always amazed how surfer catches air between the board and lands back on it......
speed X mass - friction + trajectory = punt
@@mindhead_ ha ha ha....I've seen enough on SOB...that that ain't always the case...plenty of crash/splash landings
💯💯
Good morning ya'll
That last wave was great. You can surf a whole session and not clock that much time up on your board here.
Good morning!!
Which break is the first wave?
Who is surfer @3:24! Mad style
Oh that's not helped my past love affair with twinnys! Move to all thrusters as transitioning back to 3 fins was to much effort
😋✌🏽
Ca you explain for a non surfer What the difference is between a single, a double and a triple fin as far as handling the board?
Single fin is usually on a longboard and it doesn’t turn as much, two fins is usually on a fish which doesn’t turn as aggressively as a shortboard and 3 is a shortboard which turns very aggressively
I’m no expert myself but I’ll share what I know, take it with a grain of salt.
On most short boards, triple fins, or ‘thrusters’ as they’re known, are more popular because they’re most likely to offer the correct balance between speed (because more fins create more drag. More fin surface area = less speed.), and manoeuvrability (for the average surfer).
Having a twin fin generally makes the board faster. Or, at least, makes the board FEEL faster. Which is why twin fins are often found on boards intended for small, weaker surf. Called ‘fish’ or ‘grovellers’: wide, flatter boards with extra volume making it easier to catch smaller waves.
Twin fins are more ‘skate-ie’ in their movement, allowing surfers to make wide, fluid, arching turns.
You’re far less likely to see surfers riding twin fins in massive surf because they lack power. Twins can hold speed but they cannot generate it; build speed into a powerful manoeuvre or even an air.
On short boards, single fins offer the worst of both worlds. These days they’re mostly exclusively seen on longboards.
If you’re reading this please feel free to correct me or add more, cause I’d love to know, too.
It's about more then just the fins, you can see people on twin fins surf identical to the way a regular tri fin would, it's more the combination of twin fin and board type when people talk about "twin fin surfboards" And it makes your surfing less radical and more flowy, tri fins feel like getting a knife and stabbing warm butter whilst twin fins feel like getting a spoon and shaving layers off butter. Single fins, offer the least amount of control and are reserved for mostly longboards because of that.
Tri/ Most control, radical manoeuvres, most potential to gain speed.
Twin/ Flowy rail to rail turns, more initial speed with board choices. Less control. Harder to force it to do what you want it to
Single/ gross
It's would be really difficult to explain in proper detail...
The easiest is : Just plain Evolution 😉
Today , it's your personal preference.. I've been surfing 40yrs and rode them all 😎
I own five boards... single fin , twin , thruster (3) , quad (4) & 5
Thruster (3) in some way , more "performance" oriented and used by a bigger variety of surfers with different level of skill
the sarfboart go fast with less finz, more finz meanz ur bad at sarfin bruddha
Bali cadu
the wave and surfing at 3:55 is next level :)
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Merry Christmas or just surf 😊
Happy Holidays!🙂
3:24 😘

1:40 Monot!

Sarfin x 2
😁😁
....it's a FISH.................
Look at all these goofy footers.
🙂👍🏾👍🏾
Why does everyone carry their stick with fins pointing inwards. All us old timers have always done the outward style. Is it a new fad😂🤔🤔🤔
Wax!
I don't really know. I'm an old timer too.
I am an old timer and I have always carried my board fins first and facing inward. It was the cool thing growing up in Hawaii in the 70's.
So you don't hurt someone if you happen to come close to them?
With the destruction of the world ocean ecogrid. I hear the sharks are very hungry. Acting strangely as well. Any comments. Any observations in that regard
🤦
Twins are looser. They have less drag. MR won 4 world titles on twins. I rest my case.
