It's interesting to note that because these new versions are out there will be a drop in the old versions which means its prime time to pick up the originals. IMO, the originals are always better!
To limit the Promo cards for Pre-Release is Yet another feelbad. My EU LGS claims they did not receive any retainers. Depending on intend or supply chain issue 50 USD could be a fair price. But if this holds a lot of casual collectors will not be able to complete their M30 Promo collection... Would be too bad
Dang man. I'd like there to be some kind of post from WOTC on what the issue is with those. It might be that they provide more further down the line if it was a production issue. I believe they've done things like that before. Based on the other versions I don't think they'd end up going for much over the $50 mark. Some of the Japanese promo's are much more sought after because of extremely limited print runs
The problem with the old borders looking so good is.... thats how they all used to be prior to 2003! So WotC turned a great looking product into a shit looking product and now they give us retro frames as a 'special' card. Anyways, BRO was a very different prerelease experience, still very fun but just vastly different on how to approach building the deck, a nice change in pace from other sets.
I agree. At a certain point the retro's are a nice treat for us long-time players. But on the other hand it feels like it devalues something you might of had in your collection for a long time or spent a lot of money on. I still prefer the original copies of course but I suppose I don't like the aesthetics of these any less because they basically are the same.
I got 3 set boxes of this set and I’m not sure if I did well value-wise, but I do love the new cards. I wasn’t the biggest fan of transformer cards at first, but they play actually really well.
Same here man. I thought the Transformers were going to be useless but they actually have playability at least. I just wish they were a standalone product and were not included in normal BRO products.
This is a very tough community to please, but those transformer cards are really goofy. Aside from that I love this set, foil retro schematics might be my favorite presentation to date.
At first I thought they were goofy but after reading them and handling them, I don't think they are that bad. I do think they should of just had their own Secret Lair but overall I do like them even though I didn't pull a shattered glass. On the retro foils, they are absolutely beautiful and I look forward to collecting the entire set!
