The research James does is unmatched. Such fun content and tips for underrated books to hunt for, great for collectors at any level! I'd add 1 from each....in Marvel Id say X-Men 235, which is the 1st Genosha. Still see that in dollar bins which is crazy with it's significance to the X-Men stories that follow. For DC, I'd say Detective Comics 599, the 1st Henri Ducard. James has mentioned that one before and I continue to see it in dollar bins.
Nice call on Nocturna. I remember being stunned a few years ago learning that Wizard Mag had misled me decades ago into investing in wolverine #10 as they listed it as the first fight between wolverine and sabretooth. It actually was uncanny 212 from a few years prior.
Bro.. That Green Lantern book is a special one for me because it is the FIRST comic book I remember reading and owning and sparked my love for the hobby. Never forgot that book and I found it on the wall of a comic store last year and IMMEDIATELY bought it for about 6 bucks. Had no Idea it was Brian Bolland's first American comics work and I always LOVED that cover. Thanks for the insight!
I have many of these, I've seen manly of these and never knew their significance. Definitely keeping this list in mind next dollar bins dive I do! Love these kinds of videos, helps get some info out there for some of us!!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. The only comic I have from this list is Firestorm. That's because I have the entire series. I am going to go read it again. Thank you, take care.
Great list! Ice's 1st appearance being a $1 bin book in particular is ridiculous. An equivalent Marvel heroine 1st app would be a freaking $20 key at least
I continue to grab X-Men 428 whenever I see it in back bins for a dollar. The Azazel 1st app is cool but honestly I just love it as a Nightcrawler cover
This is an awesome list! I’m totally writing many of these down and going hunting for them. Thanks for sharing all the information about the characters in this list that many of us might not otherwise know. Keep up the awesome work you’re doing. Love this channel.
Great list! I was dumbfounded when I discovered that ugly green creep on the cover of Firestorm was, in fact, Rudy from Superman TAS! (For what it's worth the color is arguably a better fit but the original purple costume just looks so damn good!)
Great list of comics! I have created a list of these that I will take with me to the dollar bins. I might actually have a few of these in my own dollar bins at my booth! I need to check. 🙂 As always great content. I enjoy your channel and as a new comic collector, I learn a lot from you. Thanks, and Happy Holidays!
Going to pick up a few ironman 281s. As a 90s kid I collect based on memories of the cartoons and cards of the day. Malibu Ultra Force/Ultraveres are my go to undervalued comic's.
How would I get to your store, which you mention at the end of this video, by public transportation from either Penn Station or the Port Authority Bus Terminal, both of which are in NYC?
The Longbow Hunters should be valued a lot higher just because it's a classic storyline with brilliant artwork. And yeah, I found all three issues in the dollar bin at a used bookstore.
Did some digging for you, brother, but have a few questions. So Detective Comics #529 has a published date of August, 1983. Batman #329 has a publish date of September, 1983. I am still a newcomer to the comic book community (I started May 6, 2023), and have read where some books come out a few weeks/months after the published date. Could this be the reason for the discrepancy? The only other thing I can think of is that #529 appears to not give out a full name, calling her N. Knight. Have you ever contacted Key Collector about this? They’ve always been kind and helpful to me, although they did just recently shoot down my idea of listing Blue Devil #26 as a key since it is the first appearance of Green Gargoyle. They did add it to the notes, though.😄👍
Mike Grell is one of those creators inextricably linked to certain characters, in his case Green Arrow (and Black Canary) and The Warlord. The Crossbow Hunters is I think his best work in his long career. There are several subtle and unofficial Marvel/DC crossovers like Barry Allen in Quasar #17 - another is Sub-Mariner #72 (1974) which copies most of a panel from Aquaman #56 (1971), with both stories written by Steve Skeates. Thanks for including Mark Millar and Tommy Lee Edwards' 1985, a fantastic miniseries which no-one seems to even remember. By the way, "Millar" is pronounced the same as "Miller", the difference in spelling is a regional British variation. Slapstick and the Impossible Man would be a great team-up or battle as long as the right creative team was used.
Key Collector is wrong time and time again? He literally points that out in the beginning… maybe you should go back and rewatch, they clearly have the first appearance of Nocturna a month after she actually debuted: meanwhile it’s not like it’s an unknown fact, if you look it up there’s websites with the actual 1st appearance listed but they don’t care. I’m not arguing that you are wrong, rather I’m pointing out the fact that it’s not wise to put your full faith in a website that had an error pointed out in this very video… also he never states that Rhodes wears War Machine in 281, rather he’s making it clear that the beginning of that storyline is key to the War Machine character because the events in it is what leads to Rhodes donning the War Machine armor.

X-men 283. First full appearance of Bishop. Saw about 12 in the dollar bin. None were bagged. Just sitting in there raw, probably 6.5’s. 😢
Nice call on Nocturna. I remember being stunned a few years ago learning that Wizard Mag had misled me decades ago into investing in wolverine #10 as they listed it as the first fight between wolverine and sabretooth. It actually was uncanny 212 from a few years prior.
Great tips. I am a methodical dollar bin diver. I will find that Batman #529. 😁
Detective comics!
This is one of the most underrated channel on YT! X-Men 428, Detective 529 noted. Not buying Quasar though lol…
Hahahaha
I for one enjoy the oddball / somewhat corny characters, totally get why most dont tho. Also James your sleigher sweater is too sick man. Love it 🤘😀🤘
Amazing list, pretty much all of these were out of my radar. Thank you

Thanks🤝🏻More dollar bin books to track down. Dope 🔥
Good luck on the hunt!
I bought Prometheus off the rack. It was hot for minute. I like the Kirbyesque cover.
Quasar & Silver Surfer in the 90's were amazing.
The Quasar comic is interesting to know about with the hidden Barry Allen reference.
#9, crossbones. I completely agree. Way undervalued
Great list, thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching!
Now I want to find that 1985 issue, sounds interesting!
Back to the dollar bins for me. Keep those inside scoops coming!!
Thanks for the tips!
The one book I always see in the dollar bin is ASM #546 (first appearance of Mr. Negative).
I'm still a sucker for the glow-in-the-dark covers!
That entire firestorm run is full of underrated keys. Firestorm needs more love in movies and tv lol
For sure dude, firestorm the nuclear man is so underrated!
Great list! I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for these! Thanks!
Thanks James and Merry Christmas!!
Thanks!
Great video. I wish I lived closer to N.J. I would be at your store regularly. Going to be adding these to the PC.
Thanks for the Nocturna scoop! And nice sweater!
I have many of these, I've seen manly of these and never knew their significance. Definitely keeping this list in mind next dollar bins dive I do! Love these kinds of videos, helps get some info out there for some of us!!
Dang. Thank you. I didn't have a uncanny 428. To the dollar bin!
Check it out!
I enjoy all of your videos. I really appreciate that they are not all “look what I bought “ videos. Great content!
I very rarely do those types of videos hahaha
Thank you for sharing. Now I’m on the hunt
Good luck!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. The only comic I have from this list is Firestorm. That's because I have the entire series. I am going to go read it again. Thank you, take care.
Another awesome Video. Thank you. So far ordered 7 and made offers for 3 more.
Great list! Ice's 1st appearance being a $1 bin book in particular is ridiculous. An equivalent Marvel heroine 1st app would be a freaking $20 key at least
It’s funny you mention the slapstick one because I just found that in the dollar bins at a swap meet!
I continue to grab X-Men 428 whenever I see it in back bins for a dollar. The Azazel 1st app is cool but honestly I just love it as a Nightcrawler cover
I really like that 1st Brian Bolland Green Lantern book! Pretty sweet.
This is an awesome list! I’m totally writing many of these down and going hunting for them. Thanks for sharing all the information about the characters in this list that many of us might not otherwise know. Keep up the awesome work you’re doing. Love this channel.
Thanks! Heading to Megacon in Feb. This gives me a great search list!
Incredible sweater
Definitely that Iron Man 281!!! It’s like Hulk 181 and 180 1st Wolverine. 1st War Machine.
Glow in the Dark covers like you said. The kids love them!
Man, some just information consistently from your channel! Thanks for sharing your secrets with all of us. Loved the video!
Glad you liked it!
Great list! I was dumbfounded when I discovered that ugly green creep on the cover of Firestorm was, in fact, Rudy from Superman TAS! (For what it's worth the color is arguably a better fit but the original purple costume just looks so damn good!)
Absolute LOVE these videos. Thank you so much much! Was just looking at JLI 12 today since I’m collecting the run! Even more excited to grab it now :)
That’s my jam too!
Not enough people talking about how incredible that christmas sweater is
I always wondered why The Spectre comics never got more attention. Great video, I learned a lot.

Firestorm is awsome! Loved him in Arrow too!
Great selection of books … I’ll be heading to the dollar bins asap :)
Thanks for the tips. Some great books here
I need to find the ice comic
I am surprised that most of these comics are in dollar bins. Another great video. Thank you.
I tracked down that Quasar book after seeing it in a fun fact. Its one of my favorite cross universe crossovers.
I geniuinely enjoy this channel.
I'm always grabbing The Phalanx Covenant and Fatal Attractions issues when I find them.
I wish I found those Spectre books more. The dollar bins at my LCS don't change too often unfortunately. Still find some good stuff there on occasion.
Absolutely love these types of videos
Good data. Thank you for your content.
Cool insights and info on these books.
Well done 🍻
Going to pick up a few ironman 281s. As a 90s kid I collect based on memories of the cartoons and cards of the day. Malibu Ultra Force/Ultraveres are my go to undervalued comic's.
Was thinking about the Parasite book before watching, totally agree, this Parasite is used so many times everywhere and it's $1? cmon
So ridiculous
Love the videos man!
Interesting info; thanks!
Great video. I'll be looking for these.
TY!
Slapstick actually was a recurring character in Gerry Duggan’s Deadpool run!
Great list. I was not familiar with most of these!
Great topic! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for great Video ! I just learn how to find book and resell on EBay
Thanks for sharing.
Another video with a wealth of knowledge.
Great list! People are catching on to the longbow hunters though, it’s actually got a decent value in a 9.8.
Wow for once I found out I had an accidental key! I had no idea that my Firestorm comic was that cool!
This makes me wanna get out there and do some hunting! Great vid!
I watched this video, went to half price books, found and picked up Slapstick #1 5 dollars. Great pickup
Great video. love these choices.
Thanks for this informative video! 👊💥
Love the tips you give!
I can vouch on 1st appearance of Azazel in dolla bins. Had to buy all the NM when i find it. Can't pass it up.

I have a few of these but a lot to add to my wishlist!
Still amazes me that Prometheus is that cheap. Crazy!

Great video I wonder where some of these suggestions came from 😉
Awesome information …Thanks
Actually, Rhodes doesn't wear the War Machine armor until 284, per Key Collector.
@thecatwrangler9448 But he does say that Rhodes wears the armor in 282.
Love your videos
Well, now I know what to look for next time I go dollar bin hunting
Great video 🎉
Great list. Thx!
Thanks for the video I had no idea about these comic books thanks 👍👍👍
Good list.
Great List!❤
Thanks for the info man! Sad that all these 1 dollar bin books are in 5 dollar bins in Canada 😂
I honestly feel like even $5 is a steal for all of these hahaha
no, Im in Canada and found 2 of these(and even bigger keys) in 50 cent/$1 bins
@@ScarecrOmega Congrats! Not at any of my stores!
