That too-cool baritone brings back my dad, evening sherry in hand, Word Jazz carving crazy patterns in the Silva Thins smoke as it tripped off the reel-to-reel in the Danish Modern study. These sound paintings reminded you there was much more interesting world to be found beyond the ordinary.
Not-so-fun fact: certain American Gentlemen, aka Boston Terriers, emit the most horrendously noxious fumes after eating cheese; specially the female Bosties. That's not very ladylike.
@Rosalind Richardson : Good point, very good point. But there's a very fine balance between Food and Sex, always felt the two books, The Joy Of Cooking/Sex, should be combined.
That's a new one, but it still sounded more like a real bounce to me, ie, that he ate so much he was as round as a ball and so could bounce like one. I still like the belch.
I'm going crazy trying to figure out what food he's talking about at 0:33... "leftover weltrerbit" ??... sounds like a german type of food by the way he says it, but after searching with multiple spellings I am unable to locate it. Someone please help.

RIP Ken Nordine. I first heard this on the Rhino compilation "The Beat Generation".
Finally found this audio treat, which I used to have on a mix tape (never knew its actual title), but that got tangled/gobbled up. Love Ken's voice.
Rest in peace and repletion, Ken Nordine.
I love his voice acting. Sharing this on Facebook.
This track was in Jack "The Late Night Swinger' Springer'sArsenal on KJAZ 92.7 It used to make me hungry in the middle every time!
Only one complaint, and I do agree with my father on this, that instead of the bounce, the ending should have been this terrific loud BBELLLCCCHHH!!!
That would have been too literal of a solution. Ken Nordine liked word and sound pictures.
This genre/form of Jazz is pretty cool.
just listening to this guy eat is giving me cravings XD
Thumbs up if Henson's Sam and Friends brought you here. An essential from Ken Nordine.
This whole LP and Son of Word Jazz are great.
I believe the Fred Katz group included Paul Horn.
RIP, Ken!
Oh gees, I was so excited to hear this again but I think the audio has been removed.
This is making me hungry !!! 🤣
Ken Nordine invents ASMR.
True that, especially when dialogue and sounds plays a huge influence for future arms vids
More like mukbang 😄
Good point, I just like the belch because my father always did that at the end. Still think it sounds pretty funny after all that chewing.
When you eat a bag of shredded cheese at 3AM.
Not-so-fun fact: certain American Gentlemen, aka Boston Terriers, emit the most horrendously noxious fumes after eating cheese; specially the female Bosties. That's not very ladylike.
Another influence on Tom Waits.
Very True - Curious what you think Waits thinks of Nordine?
This man-made a musical track about the munchies
98 years old and still hungry!
all i can say is ....mmmmmmmmm!
@Rosalind Richardson : Good point, very good point. But there's a very fine balance between Food and Sex, always felt the two books, The Joy Of Cooking/Sex, should be combined.
George Costanza loved a good pastrami sandwich when he was engaged in intimate relations.
@jkellis2 Yep, I'm one of 'em. Can't listen to this without picturing Yorick eating a plate full of food.
Then what? Alas, poor Yorick, I knew him well until he died of overeating?
RIP
My mom had this on 45
I believe the "bounce" is supposed to be a euphemism for flatulence.
That's a new one, but it still sounded more like a real bounce to me, ie, that he ate so much he was as round as a ball and so could bounce like one.
I still like the belch.
Speed is slightly high on this rendition. Recommend reduce 10%

I was given the answer to my troubles by (possibly) Mr. Nordine himself, via email: Welsh rarebit
Seems unlikely the guy is 95 years old...
It was him.
Amazing he would take the time to answer you...
welsh rarebit is toasted cheese with some bread, I think.
Sam and friends brought me hear .
Did some of you came from sam and friends because i did
I'm afraid a belch like what you're suggesting would have been inconstistent with the tone of the music.
