Was getting my arse kicked on an online match of Deadlock....My Athena was all i had left. This came on....I felt a sudden surge of apm, A sudden burst of strategic thinking...I moved my Athena into a defensive position, They threw everything at me, I died.
I have verified that this song works with any space RTS game. Sins of the Solar Empire + mods, Star Trek Armada, Star Wars Empire at War, Battlefleet Gothic Armada 1 & 2.
Works for a component diverse Stellaris battle too. Watch kinetic armed fighter dogfight energy equipped ones. While two massive fleets close to engage is awesome.
See DRADIS blips when the round starts. Static blips are usually Basestars or Argos type ships. Send torpedoes on maximum aggresive fleet stance and watch them burn explode.
I think the bag or uellean pipes that are in this one make such an amazing difference during the battle plays where it runs through the actions everyone is taking during the turn.
I always loved this track. The best is during replay when your viper wings meet and charge the cyclon fleet as the bagpipes hit around the 13 second mark is just the best.
@@rakshithanand8262 All my fleets consist of two Jupiter mk2s and two fleet carriers and one defender. I have Five BSGs with ten Battlestars ready to go. Two of those groups have one Minerva and One has a Artiemis. I named BSG-22 otherwise known as Task Force B With the Battlestar Virgon and Sierra Madre as my main task force for all difficult missions. I actually felt like I lost a historical part of BSG-22 when Sierra Madre got obilterated by a nuke when Cylon hacking had disabled her flak. Her Viper complement had avenged the ship at least.
Especially when you’ve got a battle star in the battle, it just truly fits so perfectly with that feeling of navy but in space, and it fits so well it sounds like they’d have naturally made that music for this were the game real life.
Let's not put all our eggs in one basket. Homeworld isn't gonna let that statement fly without a fight. Or Bear McReary's soundtrack for the show for that matter.
This was playing during Total Biscuit's RIP, first lets plays of Deadlock. I literally bought the game there and then, part based on his video and part based on the awesomeness of this song. The rest of the soundtrack is great too.
True story: I've brought sci fi magazine to school for one project. One girl said: "ewww, it's boring" and turned all the pages just to see ads, toys and stuff on the cover. Ironically, she's now a massive Doctor Who fan
I don't use the Manticore much, the Adamant is the heart of my fleet, deploying them in packs, usually four vessels to a battlegroup, split into pairs who will stick together and engage targets together. I even adopted the Elysian Cross manouver from Enter Elysium's lets play of the game, where he used Adamants to take down a Basestar and her escorts
I fallen for the trap of trying to spam the Artemis-class Battlestar, mainly due to cool factor, until I realize I can spam way more Adamant-class Frigate and get way more jobs done.
the battlestars need buffed in this game. Its a substantially bigger ship than the Adamant but only a little bit more armor and health. Should be able to stand a much stronger pounding then it can in game.
The Artimis class especially. I never commit them to a battle, because they are far too fragile and too expensive and time consuming to replace, making them just a massive liability
Nice! I made myself a loop of this and the other version of it, but because I have no freaking idea about audio editing, it gets pretty distorted. I just really want an official release of the OST so I can buy it.
When you are playing world of warships, your team gets obliterated, and you are in a full HP battleship. Yes this has happened to me, destroying those charging cruisers was hilarious.
Personal version of this happened today in War Thunder. I'm flying a starter American Biplane that I've decked out to the hilt. Wrecked shit, then a whole squad of players realized I was the problem and tried to bring me down in a 3 on 1 fight for 10 whole minutes. They finally punched me so full of wholes that I lost system control, but I still had elevators, so I made a textbook crash landing in field while being shot at, flipped them the bird, and got the match won indication just after I killed the engine (or the block of molten steel formerly known as an engine)
Something like this happened to me once. I'd sorta sailed around the map for most of the battle in my Leander, taking potshots, until I overextend a tiny bit and suddenly there's a Fuso and two carriers in front of me. So I swing round, pop both torp sets on Fuso, timing it so I'm bow-on when he shoots, and nail both salvos. As my AA gunners are going apeshit and the guns hammer away at the CV planes, I swing close and pump like eight rounds straight into the citadel of the first carrier, sinking him. Then I do the same to the second carrier, somehow managing to survive as the planes desperately try to take me down. Man, that was a great round. We lost though, I have no idea what happened on the other side of the map.
I don't play WoW much anymore, college kinda prevents me from enjoying a lot of things... But I remember a time where I was playing a German BB that wasn't the Bismarck, and going 6 v 1 against another BB, 4 cruisers, and a Destroyer. I *barely* won, IIRC I was so low that the fire on board my ship was only seconds away from killing me before I landed the final shot on the enemy cruiser. I won't say it was a total 6 v 1, the enemy ships were already pretty battered from the rest of my team and I was fairly healthy having played from longer range for most of the fight. But holy shit now I know what my Battlestars feel like scraping by with 1 HP left on their hull and almost all armor facings stripped off

battletech is like 4 layers deeper into the nerd iceberg than battlestar galactica, how did you get where you are without at least hearing about it? the 2004 battlestar galactic series is one of the best science fiction TV shows out there, and I would highly recommend it.
I've heard of it, but never bothered looking it up. This was mostly a joke. For some reason, this ended up in the lore playlist I was watching. I was super confused at first and decided to write the above joke once I realized what happened.
So for those of you wanting a multi-hour loop of this: you're aware if you right-click on the video, theres a "loop" function to RUclips now, yes?
I think they’re wishing for a version with a more seamless transition between the… sections? Parts? However you call them

Can't loop if you're listening with the RUclips app. The feature doesn't exist unfortunately.
That Guy not for mobile devices though.
thank you

lacks the bombastic and proud tone of the imperial navy, could work with the tau though
Had it in the background while kicking ass with an all Jupiter Class fleet in Sins of a solar Empire....

Played it while playing Stellaris. Kicked Prethoryn ass.
You mean the epic space battle music fits in other similar space battle games? This world is too crazy 4 me.

I never realized before that I wanted a fusion of Japanese and Celtic instruments, and yet here I am.
i once heard Mongolian throat singing and Morin Khuur moxed with bagpipes and stuff. It was awesome

Oh yes, the bagpipes of war. Love the final part.
Release the bagpipes of war, also the guided missiles of war.

No argument about it!
You know you're playing a real game when the music is this good.

This game captures the essence of the show so well. Especially the music!
You can FEEL the battlestars ponderously maneuver with this song
Launch Alert Fighters, Set condition one.
Now i know this OST is heavily inspired by the TV show, but i also feels like this track in particular as lot of the OG Starcraft in it.
Set condition one throughout the fleet. Use of nuclear ordnance is authorized.

I just found my newest addition to my “combat playlist” for Elite Dangerous.

For me, it's tied with "Prelude to War" from the show. This soundtrack is frakkin' seamless with McCreary's work. Mad props to the composer.
