This is a good idea. The other thing I don’t love is clothing as Christmas gifts. I used to buy things early and be really organized. Some years I could not return the clothing for my child that was the wrong size because I got it to early and it wasn’t eligible for a return. I realized it was not good to buy the present, then stick it in a box for a month or two before it’s opened in our own house. That was something he could wear for a month or two. Cold weather starts two months before Christmas. Santa gets one regular size gift and does an awesome job on the stocking. No candy. Possible things to include are swim Goggles, a game cartridge, movie, book, flashlight for reading, color pencils, earbuds.. you really can put some awesome things in there. Then daddy and mommy each buy regular size gift for him, usually $20 range and sometimes even less. Then he gets a ridiculous amount of stuff from others. Three gifts and the stocking seemed like too little to buy for our own kid but he just got so much stuff from grandparents and aunts and friends. We could not control their spending but we could control our own. So to get my shopping spree experience I fill a cart for toys for tots donation. For the kids who don’t have grandmas and aunts buying for them. And that comes out of giving budget, not Christmas.
First, red is SOOOO your color! We are in good gift place, as the kids want the gift cards or cash but I try to incorporate something into the gift. If I know the girls need a wallet or makeup case, I pick up an inexpensive one they will use throughout the year. The boys, they just get the item in an envelope. :)
Hey There! I’m a HUGE fan of the Tidy Moose!! It’s really helped me become more organized with not only my things, but my life. I just have one question for you... I OBVIOUSLY am very grateful that you made this channel and decided to become a professional organizer, but you always talk about how you once were a teacher. Why did you leave your teaching career if you loved it so much??? I hope you have a Happy Holiday!🎄

Love your videos. Thank you so much for being honest about the holidays.
