They're different rackets. The feel is so much better and more connected to the ball. The Blade feels good too, but the feel on the Pro is better.

The string pattern of the Blade Pro is similar to a Pro Staff 97 where the top and bottom cross are closer to the edge of the frame. I think this is a big part of what gives these racquets such excellent feel. The string pattern on my 93 sqi Prestige is actually tighter than on the 85 sqi Pro Staff (both are 16X19). I don't get anywhere near the feel on the Prestige that I do on either the PS85 or PS97.

blade pro feels like a softer prostaff, but a tad stiffer than regular blade on contact like harry said its probably because of the beam thickness, super stable. it also feels kinda like a head pro tour but obviously more spin and power since pro tour is 18x20 and only 95.

Great comparison video. Now that I understand the differences between the retail Blade 98 (16x19) V8 and the Blade 98 Pro (16x19) V8, would you be able to compare differences between the Blade 98 Pro (16x19) V8 and the Blade 98 Pro (18x20) V8? Just for your information, I have a Blade 98 (16x19) V6 (w/o CV) and a Pro Staff 97 V13. Thanx in advance.

Thanks, the difference what I see from here on the pro is you skip one main after the sixth main first and one after the seventh that will bring the cross further away from the centre at each end. I guess the grommet layout must be different.

I play with the Blade Pro V8 16x19 and had a H22 18x20 before. They feel a bit different. H22 is a bit softer. Both had Silicone. Weight was nearly the same too. But H22 a bit softer. And the stringpatterns on both 16x19s are a bit different. The Blade Pro is a bit different, I think because they didn't want to go all the way. Still loving the Blade Pro, unbelievable frame.

I have the Blade V7 16 X 19, Blade Pro 16 X 19 and Blade V6 no CV 16 X 19. Blade pro feels the best to me, a little harder to swing but if you're hitting cleanly feels incredible, solid plush and precise. no matter what string I put in it. Currently using Hybrid Solinco Tour bite 18g with syn gut crosses 17g (still feels super comfortable and solid.) The V6 comes in second very easy to play frame easier to swing comfortable, predictable but not as solid or comfortable as the pro. The V7 I just don't feel like I have any control with that frame. V6 is the easiest to play with and does everything well but if my footwork is good and I am striking the ball well the Pro is my go to racquet more plow and precision. You may need to play with the balance & weight on the pro to get it playing to your liking as I have. Blades offer great mix of control and spin. I Use to gravitate to Dunlops (200G's CX 200 Tour) but blades our best I have swung to date. I also agree Pro is super easy to string which is a good thing cause I break more strings with this racquet than any other racquet in my history.(buy a stringer learn to string well worth it. Besides saving money allows you to experiment with different tension and strings. I use a tourna 150 CS under $600 with fixed clamps does a very nice job. I used a klippermate with floating clamps for many years not as accurate. Don't cheap out tourna CS 150 very affordable very accurate string jobs opposed to ones using floating clamps.

The Blade Pro is an H22 with one specific layup and drill pattern. So, yes it is true. In my experience, most H22s that are not the BP come in a similar drill pattern with different layups (i.e. I own 3 16x19s, 2 are matched and the other is close in spec, but all 3 have the same drill pattern).

Currently playing with tour bite 18g in mains and 17g syn crosses at 49lbs best setup so far. good pocketing , spin , power and precision. favorite so far Very comfortable and solid. I take full cuts on 90% of my shots with lots of top spin and this setup gives me the confidence to go all out.

The obvious answer is that Wilson wanted to sell the H22 finally and they put their brand name "Blade" on it, to strengthen it further. A simple marketing decision. That's basically it.
Btw. on tour, there are a lot of players who use some kind of regular Blade 98, customized. Many also use the Blade Pro, but I think there are even more with a standard 98 (mostly older versions).
Btw. 2: I play the Blade Pro 16x19. I wish they would make the throat slightly thinner, like 21 or 20.5 mm but keep the head and shaft as it is (like Yonex does), because I dislike the clunky feeling you get from thicker throats. (I also dislike the Clash for this a lot), it just makes the racket slower through the air. Other than that, I really like the Blade Pro, but not so much with a softer string like Hyper-G, since the frame itself is softer already, a string like Tour Bite complements it perfectly. You talked about the strings for the Blade Pro in the video with Coach Gu too...
